Oh joy, right when I can get some sleep I have a banging headache and I can't sleep! :(

Anyway, more success on the bottle front - 41.5ml of a 43ml feed :D

Wow Elle, you're really tanking him up! :D He's going to be chubby before you know it! :p

GHope you got some rest in the end, resting on your laurels and all :o

After a frustrating evening of wakefulness tried controlled crying for about 25 minutes last night before cracking and walking him round the block a few times in the stroller at half-midnight :( OH very unhappy with me, I offered to go read in the car if she wants to persevere with it :/. However he did fall asleep on the breast after his walk, and slept from 1-7.30, so I guess it could be worse.

Also, I'm not after medical advice as such, I am actually waiting or the docs to phone me back.
Basically Has anyone had any experience of ear nose and throat problems with their children?
Aston has sine I can remeber been a really heavy breather, he snores like I dont know what and seems to catch colds every 4-6 weeks, sometimes more frequently.
When he does have a cold his breathing is terrible, it sounds like his nose is completely blocked even if it's not snotty and running, he snores even louder and it takes him forever and a day to eat a meal (usually he wolfs his food down)
His tonsils are huge all the time, he's not actually had tonsillitits thank god as i think they would close his throat up if they got too inflamed.

Mum said he is exactly how i was a as a child and I had my tonsils and adenoids out when I was 6, but i had reccuring tonsilitis..

I took him to the GP on 2/6/09 and he gave us piriton and told me to com eback in 4-6 weeks if things havent improved, well they havent and so now i'm taking him back.
Mum is sure there is something needs sorting, I just dont want to be fobbed off as a neurotic mother :o

Sami don't worry - I'm sat here looking at my freedom sling wondering whether to give it another go or not before flogging it on ebay :( When I have tried Roo in it she was NOT amused, but I wonder if there is anyone round here that does stuff like sling meets  They seem such a great idea but I need some help showing me ways of sticking her in it :( *sigh*
Anyway seems I have landed a sore throat :( Probably the one DH had the other week grrr
On the "progressive things" front then we are trying a new sleeping pattern thing as recommended by the HVs :) So tonight the baby monitor goes in our bedroom and when daddy comes home at 7 he gets half an hour play time, then it's bath time at 7:30-7:45, then it's feeding time till she's full and then it's off to her basket in our bedroom - we need to stop letting her fall asleep with us down here as at the moment she's in a room on her own ever... And too often we let her fall asleep on us just because we like it :D
SO we're going to try and see how we go :)

Bruno I don't like the "controlled crying" thng much either but the thing the HVs gave us seems to make sense and I guess it's got a tiny bit of controlled crying element in it... but it's very keen on avoiding "triggers" like boob, dummy, music, light etc so a constant that the baby starts to rely on to sleep. As for the booby then soon as he starts dropping off to sleep put him in his bed to actually finish nodding off and don't let him fall asleep on the boob itself (this is a do as I say and not as i do ;) well we'll be trying it this weekend as we figured it would be easier to get into a routine when we have 3 nights with both of us here and not just me trying to keep it quiet so hubby can get some sleep...

    :)

We're exactly the same. We got the Murrons Pouch one, and just don't get it! I managed to feed her in it when she was tiny - but now it's just not comfy for either of us!
I'm not sure if we'd have been better with an adjustable one - but I don't want to buy another if we don't get on with it again!
I keep seeing people walking around looking comfy, with comfy babies in slings!

    Thanks MrsT

We actually used to do the 'as soon as he's dropping off a bit put him in bed to finish', for bedtime at least, and it worked perfectly for about 6-7 months. Now it stopped! Ah well, "it's just a phase"...

Reins: My Mum went to America when Aimee was toddling and bought back with her a wonderfull toy... It is a monkey backpack with a looong tail that clips on and the parent holds, Aimee loved it because it's less restrictive than reins, although you can't haul the child up with it when they fall over...

Caitlyn fed pretty much constantly through 2 1/2 episodes of The Inbetweeners, Mock The Week and Psychoville last night... Then slept from 11ish till 5ish! Just missing that 2-3am feed makes such a difference, I feel halfway human!

Tine, 3, have you tried looking on You Tube for videos on how to wear your slings?

We went through 3 slings - a baby bjoern, a soft fabric one I forgot, then settled on the Yamo, which we're both really happy with.
We can both wear it (I had to fiddle with a little extension for the strap to fit me as I am "large and powerful") and everyone finds it comfortable, we didn't need help beyond each other working out how to use it, and OH can BF in it easily.

I know the pics are mostly of back-carrying, but we've really only used it front-facing and it's been great.

We googled a lot before choosing it - there is a huuuuge range of sling choice out there.
