MFD, have you given up membership of dummy snobbery then?!
.
Poppy still has hers but only when in her cot and she offers it to me as soon as I walk in her room. I then have to put it on the shelf where one of her teddys looks after it!.
A speech therapist friend of mine told me that thumb sucking is much more damaging than dummies as it can affect the roof of the mouth.
Jamie isn't interested one bit as he much prefers sucking on his fingers (no thumbs so far!).

Hasn't her mum offered to buy her a pram then? (assuming she's doing the traditional grandparent gets the pram thing)
I don't think your being petty at all!
Yes, MIL did offer but she asked for the money instead and bought a second hand one from eBay which has now broken .

Plus if they trip or fall, you can sometimes 'save' them by just holding the reins tighter!
But it's each to their own. I didn't use them or the wrist strap for very long. Actually the wrist strap was kept as a threat: if you don't stay very close to Mum I will put the strap on!My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »I had to ask my friend if her church frowned on breastfeeding because we are going for her daughters christening on Sunday...it is the best way I know to keep Benjamin quiet
From her reaction I will be sending him outside with his daddyWrong kind of church, obviously. I fed all mine in church, although I used to go out in the end because they were quite noisy feeders, and my friends did too!

But then I passed a load of stuff on to my sister, she did offer to pay but I didn't want anything from her. When she'd done with it she asked if I wanted anything back, or any money if she sold anything, but again it didn't seem worth it to me. And now she's lent me a brilliant dress for DS1's graduation, so it was worthwhile ...
Sorry, posted before I'd read the final page. I'd still lend it, but I'm nice like that, me.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

What if she breaks yours? tell her you were going to sell it and therefore if she wants it she can pay for it, it's not your fault she bought a crap pram off ebay!
EDIt - he he how diff from SS is my view?!(I am probably going to give my sister my P&T - provided she has babies before I need to use it again)
oh and MFD what was the reaction that made you think you best not feed him? I think its quite poetic (not sure thats the right word) that you would be using your boobies as god intended whilst in god house as it were0 -
Sue, I only mentioned here last week that I was thinking of selling it which if I lend it out I won't be able to do and I can't very well ask for it back as I'm not planning on any more children! :rotfl:.
ETA: I'm usually nice, too - honest!

Oh joy, right when I can get some sleep I have a banging headache and I can't sleep!
Anyway, more success on the bottle front - 41.5ml of a 43ml feed0 -

DS1 has a stinking cold and OH wont let him go to school
He's away over to his Mums with Ryan cos his mum needs to borrow the car for work, I thought i would get a nice half day on me jack, but not now.
Oh and we now have swine flu in our town, infact in OH's brothers school
Spoke to DS1 teacher and she said they have noticed his behaviour change in the last 3 weeks, they are going to refer us to the childrens centre to get some people to work with us all, and do us a reward chart too.
Oh and I had my weigh in last night and lost 2lb :j:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -

It's funny I must move in unusual circles as it was only relatively recently (when I started reading up about breastfeeding) that I realised bottle feeding was more common than breastfeeding.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5
