Cliondhna switches from feeding every 3-4 hours to feeding every hour for 5-10 mins for some periods during the day. As soon as she goes on the breast, she is fast asleep within 5 - 10 mins Thankfully she doesn't do this at night, probably because she takes a good feed around 1am and 5am.
The jaundice doesn't seem to be clearing up any, I think I will try her naked for a while tomorrow, it does make sense if she is supposed to be absorbing the sunlight.
Are you tickling her feet to wake her up when she dozes while feeding? Did the Midwife advise how long you should let her go between feeds? It might be different as Toby was on expressed milk, so I could measure it. I had to give him X amount every Y amount of time.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

i went to dentist today which is a big step for me, i have to go to hosp for an xray and then he will talk everything through with me. i have such a fear and he is so happy and chats away, really put me at ease! he said that having 2 babies so close together has not helped my teeth so be warned ladies! as my wisdom teeth were coming through when i was preg with charlie he has zapped the calcium and basically they are just ruined?
I went last week, and got told off for not going! I take the children, but somehow avoid going myself - I really, really hate it!
It wasn't too bad, a couple of fillings need replacing. And he chatted to Violet and said bring her back in 6 months with the other two. (Although he won't do anything with her, he likes to meet them young so they don't turn out terrified of him when they're bigger - like me!!)
I must say, having a nice dentist helps. He only looks about 12 (or am I old?), but four years ago, i had 4 wisdom teeth coming through very painfully. He'd referred me to hospital to have them removed under GA, but one was really painful, and I was about to go on holiday. He convinced me he could take it out without killing me.And he did! He told me to close my eyes, and talked to me about holidays, imagine i'm lying on a beach etc - kind of hypnotised me through it - and I was absolutely fine

I mean Dylan is fed every 4 hours so gets a feed at 10.30 then me and him go to bed and OH then gets up to do the 2.30am feed, then me and Dylan get up at 6.30am for the morning feed, but was wondering what everyone else does? Do you have a routine, or are you all fairly flexable about it ??
When she was tiny, she'd stay downstairs and feed til I was ready to go to bed, around 10-11pm. When she started sleeping longer between feeds, around 3 months, we started to put her up at about 7-7.30, then she'd wake around midnight when i'd go up and feed her, and go to bed.
Now she goes up around 7, and was sleeping til about 6am (except last night when I had to feed her at 4).
I'd say stay flexible until he gets himself into some sort of routine.mookiandco wrote: »:hello:

Welcome Mooki - she's beautiful - and looks so big! Are you and/or OH tall?
Don't worry about formula - Violet will take formula or boobie - it doesn't matter to her so long as she's getting fed!!
We've got a not happy baby tonight! She started last night - being really restless and whingey (sp?) from around 4pm (just as the others are home from school and want feeding), until bedtime!
She's been on breakfast and tea for over a week now, so i'm wondering if I need to introduce dinner too? She cried and cried, unless she was picked up from three, but really enjoyed her tea at 5 (followed by boobie). Then, she needed carrying around til bedtime at half 6, with another half hour of boobie!
Also, she woke this morning at 4ish for boobie (dummy didn't work!) - which she hasn't done for quite a few nights.:beer:0 -
I've entered Charlotte in a competition. If anyone has a minute to spare, we'd appreciate a vote:

No, I didnt know to try tickling her feet. I was told just to make sure she feeds at least every 4 hours, but I sometimes waken her after 3, because her deep sleeping makes me nervous.0 -

I tickled Toby's feet when he first fell asleep, and he'd wake up enough to have a bit more. I was so nervous about him not getting enough I kept poking him and feeding him. I think I made him a little too keen on eating!

Never wake a sleeping baby is my rule!!
I never woke Benjamin for a feed...not even at the start, if he was hungry he would wake.
He was sleeping 5 or 6 hours at night pretty much from when we brought him home.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
