Hurrah for Rhys! :T:j:T:j
I agree with Caz. Close the curtains, lock the door, turn off the phone and enjoy your little boy. Naughty, but you could tell everyone he's coming home on Friday so you can have some quality 'family' time before the hoards descend (nice as it is, but the time alone is soooo precious).we've got this one and i can confirm it is brilliant
its got a kicky pad thing that plays music and flashes lights when they kick it, which you can lay down for tummy time and they can bash it with their hands. i've tried 2 other babies on it and they loved it, i was quite smug when the mums said they dont get that excited on their ones
it is expensive but its worth it, and i think Lu T has the same one and she got it cheaper off ebay if i remember rightly
I have a similar Tiny Love one and wouldn't be without it. Got it off ebay for about £20 I think, but it was 2 years ago. It's an older version of this one but still has squeaky/crinkly things plus it has lights and tunes. We tried quite a few, including a lovely M&P cream & beige one which matched the living room, but did absolutely nothing for her in terms of stimulation. I'd go for the cheap playmat if you've already got an arch. Bright colours and contrast is all you need. The other one seemed very expensive. Bet you're out shopping right now!
If anyone wanta the ITNG game on Martin's e-mail last week that had been reduced and then increased in price by Amazon (naughty, naughty) I've picked it up from Toys R Us today for £4.99. It'll go in the cupboard for Xmas as it's 3+ but it looks really good.
Have also picked up some PJs and a t-shirt in the Mothercare sale - which is massive for clothes BTW. We took Imogen so she could choose a toy for the baby, but she wasn't getting the fact that the baby won't like the things she does. She was excited about buying him/her a gift, but just wanted some ITNG stuff for herself. In the end we chose 3 things, then got her to choose from them. Too much choice had already made for 30 mins wandering around and pressing random buttons and DH was near the end of his tether!
Avoided the predictable tantrum by whipping her off to the [STRIKE]zoo [/STRIKE]pet store next door to look at the rabbits & guinea pigs.
She's still loving her fish (did I say we bought her some fish yesterday? Can't remember), but confused that they don't come when you call their names like dogs do :rotfl::rotfl:MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
elle, great news on rhys coming home, and caz, brilliant news on OH's job! good news all round!
not here though - we just went to our local british heart foundation electrical/furniture shop to get a fridge and washing machine, but they've more than doubled in price since i bought mine there! i bought a fridge and washing machine there before for £60 each and they are now £135-£170, second hand!! cue massive panic and OH buying the free ads, only to find out that the new one is out tomorrow and everything in this one is gone :rolleyes:Mummy to

Oh Caz - sorry forgot to say congrats to your OH.
Emlou - have you looked at the cashback sites to see if there's anyone offering a good deal so you could buy a new one? I use Topcashback which doesn't charge any fees. Not sure if it would work out cheap enough for you? That sounds really expensive for 2nd handMSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
DH has taken Imogen for a lovely long walk along the canal. I SOOOOO want to go, but can't get myself to the end of the village, let alone go walking up hill and down dale for 90 mins :-(MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090

DH has finally had a dose of what Alexandra is like when she's crabby during the day
I went out to pick a few bits up and check the local sport centre now it's been refurbed and she was howling nearly the whole time! She's now happily sat in her swing again after a full dose of gripe water and some more milk and burps and poos - I think he actually realised what my normal day is like with her now LOL!
Anyway - had a look at sports centre and it's £37 per month for unlimited use of all facilities (including pool, gym, classes, sauna, jacuzzi, badminton, tennis and squash courts) and you don't sign up for a year, you just have to give them 2 months notice so not too bad I think...
The creche there won't take the little ones till they are 10 weeks old so just debating whether it's worth joining before then or not... can I get someone to take the troll for long enough to go along for a month? There is an aqua arobics class once a week in the evening I'd love to join... wanna wanna wanna

!!!YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!What fantastic news!! I am so excited for you!!
We have one of those colourful floor mats and it is good for just chucking down anywhere, we also have one of these in a slightly different design that comes with a support pillow which is SO useful for plonking baby on when you need to get some stuff done.
But to be honest - we find tummy time is best with a big fleece blanket on the floor and mummy, daddy or big brother (or sometimes all 3 LOL) getting down on Benjamins level and having some fun!!
Hubby and I had a wonderful night away - we were gone for around 19 hours and Benjamin slept for about 13 or 14 of them!! My mum put him down at 7pm last night and he woke up at 5.45am, fed and went back down for 2 more hours!! Mum just put him down in his cot and left him and he went to sleep with no fuss at allmy little boy is all growed up
:D
As for me and hubby - good food, good wine, good sex and a good old natter - it was like the old days!!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
