MM - what beautiful big eyes Dylan has!!

He's looking really strong hun - have they given you any indication of when he might come home?

    Thanks :D:D

If they can get him onto proper feeds instead of tube feeding then we should be able to have him home within a couple of weeks !!!!
They may transfer him to the hospital round the corner from me if he needs to stay in and I want to breastfeed so that I dont have to travel 40 miles to the neonatal unit hes in at the minute.

So i suppose we should discuss what we're going to do. Especially as he came in from work and asked 'do you fancy a game of hide the sausage later?'. He's so juvinile sometimes. :D
Get your biggest scissors out next time he asks that. :rotfl:

do you ladies mind... The coil is currently my contraception of choice to request at my 6 week check... You're not really filling me with much confidence!

Aimee was a star for her kidney scan, the dr that did it was lovely and the three nurses in the room took turns to hold Caitlyn for me so I could see to Aimee without leaving her to scream... Best of all, everything looks good, all very well developed and no damage from the infections which is a relief!

Told my brother we're not going to top gear, he took it surprisingly well... He said he was looking forward to spending the day with his big sister so he and his wife are just coming here seeing as they both have the day off work :D

Now I'm off to sleep, i'm dead on my feet!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

HV chat yesterday was good. She liked my idea of combining purees and babyled weaning and told me I seemed to be being realistic!!! :rotfl: So we are going with that for now. Off next wednesday to watch the DVD at the health centre on Babyled weaning which will be interesting.

Tomorrow we are going to investigate rhymetime at the local library which is free - so very mse :D

Mrs t. I love our local baby rhyming sessions. I still go from time to time but Archie is a bit old and wriggly now so will sadly have to find something more age appropriate.

    Hi everyone !!!

Guess what I got to do today ??????

I got to hold my baby for a whole hour :j:j:j:j:j:j
I went up on the bus to see him for an hour before we had to be home and when I went in the nurses said he had been really good all day and did I want to hold him :D:D
I havent been able to stop smiling all night :D:D:D:D

Am in the middle of loading pics so will put them on in a minute :T

Hope everyone else had a nice day !!!!

mm he is sooooo cute - I'm smiling for you too.

I had the coil too about a year before I fell pregnant. It was so awful I was in agony and had to take antibiotics the size of golf balls as I caught an infection due to it...I got them to take it out after 3 days as I could still feel it (dr wasn't keen) and then bled worse than having a baby for 2 months after !!!!!

There are even blood transfusions, but that's quite unusual. Point is, there are ways of upping it quickly, and you might want to ask about them.

You are putting me right off EVER having mine taken out now! It's there for heavy periods not contraception, and even though it's probably 'out of date' I'm still not having periods, and the GP at our practice who 'specialises' in this gets right up my nose so I don't want to go and see her! :rotfl:
It wasn't that bad TBH, I ended up having a hysteroscopy (sp?) in the end but it hasn't put me off I'm having another put in once I can.
If it happens again I'm going to demand to go straight to the hyster-doodad guy as that was a breeze and I got to see my insides on the tele! :rotfl:

Its not that bad really :D
Just for info in case anyone cares I had the Mirena IUS which is not technically a coil but everyone calls it one :)

I tried Ed with a dummy today... he wasn't having any of it and gagged at one point :(

I'm at my wits end with Chris now he has decided that 10pm is an apropriate bedtime  OH is going to be working away for about 10 days out of the next 3 weeks and I really don't know how I will cope I feel like all I do is shout at Chris not that he listens to me! I can tell he wants to cuddle up with me but can't really get in as Edgar is always feeding and me putting my arm around Chris just isn't enough for him *sigh*
I know there's probably nothing I can do about this so don't worry I'm not expecting you to give me a solution I just needed to moan about it

Sami, can you not give him a wee reward chart on the fridge or somewhere and every night he is in bed for a certain time he gets a sticker and when he has x amount of stickers he gets something he really wants ???
We have used this method with Jasmine since she was 3 and she loves it !!

Not that I know anything about toddlers at all, but could you get you Mum or someone to come over and entertain Edgar for an hour or so, while you have some 1-1 time with Chris in another room? (maybe wait till just after a feed, so you get a small window of opportunity?!) I'm just thinking if you get some time with him during the day he may be less clingy in the evening?

We're off to rhyme time today too - Izzy loves it!

    Morning All

Just thought I would pop in and say hi:)

MM - caongratulations on the birth of your lovely son, I hope you get him home soon....which is looking promising for you. The pics are lovely:)

Elle - I am glad Rhys is doing well and i'm sure he will get the hang of feeding in no time. You will be taking him home before you know it.:D

3 - Sorry to hear about your friends news.

Feelie - You have done so well to persevere with breastfeeding. I am so pleased for you that it has all clicked into place.

Tine - The same thing happened to me on the depo...I gained a stone in just a few weeks!! My sister had the implant and had it removed as it made her really ill. They weren't very happy removing it though.

Kai has started waking in the night starving hungry....I have tried to refrain from feeding him but have had to give in and do it a few times now, he literally wolfs down a 7oz bottle in 10mins!!! Not sure what to do, as if I don't give in and feed him I get no sleep as he wakes every 15-20mins until I get up with him (usually between 5am-6am) and feed him, but I don't really want him to get used to night feeding, after months of not needing it!!

Sami, do you have a bedtime routine? Try doing it at ten when he's ready to go to sleep and gradually bring it forward so in theory he shouldn't really notice. I saw a programme about children with severe sleep issues and that was one of the techniques (it worked tremendously well)

MM, that's fab, and he's so gorgeous!

3, really really sorry to hear your friends' news

Contraception - Nothing suitable for me, seems only choice is natural family planning or abstinence. Seeing as getting pregnant again wouldn't be a good idea (don't fancy hyperemisis, SPD and pre-eclampsia with a baby to take care of) I'm not sure what to do.

Clever babies - aren't they all so good at growing, scans, being held etc!

I might venture out to the NCT meet up today. I don't know though, nervous and scared.
