Sorry :o to be fair we're only here for a couple of days, most of the holiday is being spent at my very dusty FIL's place in Mill Valley, nearer SF.

    Hi All,

I have read and do most days! But as most or at least some of you will know I am more of a lurker on here! I dont know why!?! Im not a wierdo or anything I assure you. I just seem to catch up on all the posts and then I never get to reply or someone already has! Its strange really as I feel like I know you all, but when my name pops up you all probably think 'who is this????'

You all seem to be doing well, I only have a second as I need to go to adsa and do a shop - Oh the Joy!

I was wondering if anyone is having problems with getting the babies to eat? Well drink haha.
Lexi was on 6-7 5oz bottles in 24 hours but the last few days in this heat I struggling to get 3 full bottles down her, she is a very thirsty baby and does also have water, not so much on a normal temperature day but when its warm she has a few oz's.

She is perfectly happy and has been filling her nappies with plenty of wee and poop! :D So should I be worrying?

Other news in 'The Land Of Lexi' First tooth cut at 7 weeks :T Lots of fun as Im sure you can imagine and I think we may have a second tooth coming through. Wish me luck!

Oh yes and today she rolled over! :T (she is 9 weeks now)

Also wanted to say to Sami I know how you are feeling, with regards to feeling as if your shouting at Chris all the time, we went through this with Joshua, It does pass, I think half of it is them playing up as they realise new baby is here to stay and the other half is us mums and dads feeling guilty as we cant spend as much time with them.

    Right off to asda...........

ETA - i think i want to try the implant, i was on the pill when i fell PG with seth so i dont really trust it anymore!

If it's the same hormone as the injection (Depo) then be wary... I have been on the depo twice and gained weight at a worrying rate both times after a while - and it's a nightmare to shift! I don't know if they can remove the implant if it disagrees with you - if they can't then I'd try something else to be honest... bad enough being stuck with 3 months worth in your body let alone something longer if you react to it by gaining weight (and I'm talking 2 stone in 3 months btw... not a few pounds)

    QUOTE]

I've twice had the implant. First time it was great, very few symptoms, no worries about remembering to take things and mood swings not too bad either. Had it taken out cos we wanted a baby (Imogen!)

Second time I had it I only lasted 12 months before asking them to take it out. Moods were awful and both DH and I felt it would be better just to have it out. They didn't bother at all. I said it wasn't agreeing with me and that we wanted to try for another baby in 6 months or so anyway and they just booked me an appt. I don't find it too invasive, compared to all the stories of ferreting around in your nether regions to fit/remove a coil

Think I'll be going for the hormone-free coil (IUS?) this time though as any kind of hormones are def not for me. Thanks for all the lovely stories

I'm at my wits end with Chris now he has decided that 10pm is an apropriate bedtime  OH is going to be working away for about 10 days out of the next 3 weeks and I really don't know how I will cope I feel like all I do is shout at Chris not that he listens to me! I can tell he wants to cuddle up with me but can't really get in as Edgar is always feeding and me putting my arm around Chris just isn't enough for him *sigh*
I know there's probably nothing I can do about this so don't worry I'm not expecting you to give me a solution I just needed to moan about it

Sami - I can recommend Toddler Taming by Christopher Green (thanks Sue!) which has a section on sleep problems.

We might chose to parent differently, but I'm a big fan of routine and sticking to fairly strict times. Chris must need at least 10 hours sleep at the moment, so him deciding not to go to bed until 11pm can't be helping anyone! It might take a week or so to get a routine sorted (I'd try the suggestion about starting and then moving the time forward) but if you stick with it, it will be worth it.

Also, the quality time thing could really help. Can anyone take Ed out for a walk while you and Chris have an hour doing Chris things?

Bruno - I'm not even looking at that link cos we're not having any kind of hol this year.

why do people leave things like that lying esp when kids could get to it:mad::mad::mad:
Sometimes they come in on the tide, to be fair. Although not nice however it happened.

Shouting: I used to whisper back at mine, which sometimes got the noise down. Also I cannot hear anyone who is shouting, I have an inverse kind of deafness ;) which means that if you want me to hear what you are saying you must not shout, you must speak normally.

BTW, I'm now a graduand Mum. DS1 has his results (a FIRST! Clever boy!) and had the good sense to apply for tickets to his graduation ceremony, even before I told him that I knew when it was and we WOULD be coming! :rotfl: Between getting his results and actually graduating he's a graduand, although I don't suppose he realises that. (The benefits of a classical education.)

DS2 has his first year results and has done equally well. Could kiss 'em both if they weren't 100 miles away. That's probably one reason why they ARE 100 miles away, of course. :rotfl:

4am is a popular waking time here too! I did try a late dream feed, and keeping her up later - but it made no difference. She goes up at around 7pm, then the older two get my attention for a while, then when they've gone to bed i'm enjoying my evenings. (Although they're mostly spent ironing and cleaning )

I really need to start making an effort more and not being such a slummy mummy!
I put a dress on today, straightened my hair and put mascara on! OH commented this morning 'what are you getting all dressed up for'. Then I saw my mum, 'where are you off too all dressed up', then the school run two mums told me, 'You look nice, 'where have you been'.
I obviously look a scruff normally. :rotfl:
