Between getting his results and actually graduating he's a graduand, although I don't suppose he realises that. (The benefits of a classical education.)Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Hi all,
I have just found this thread and havent caught up on all 57 pages......sorry!
I have a 7 year old boy and recently, he seems to have been picking up all sorts of bumps and scrapes to his legs.
Hes just learned to ride his bike a few weeks ago, he plays football, both at school and at the weekend....... and his legs are a MESS!!
I mean, Im not exaggerating......they are BLACK AND BLUE AND RED, from above his knees, right to his ankles. There is not an inch of skin that doesnt have a mark or a bruise or a scrape.
It doesnt help that he wears shorts to school, so of course he picks up all sorts of bumps and knocks there too.
Im sure people must wonder when they look at him, what on earth he has been up to - but short of keeping him in and not letting him play - what els am I supposed to do?!

I've got two boys that are 12 and 10 now, and he sounds pretty normal to me
Mine are always covered in bumps, bruises and scrapes, and occasionally more serious things like split heads and twisted ankles. The eldest is currently covered in a rash down his legs as he managed to walk thorugh some nettles on the way home yesterday.BTW, I'm now a graduand Mum. DS1 has his results (a FIRST! Clever boy!) and had the good sense to apply for tickets to his graduation ceremony, even before I told him that I knew when it was and we WOULD be coming! :rotfl: Between getting his results and actually graduating he's a graduand, although I don't suppose he realises that. DS2 has his first year results and has done equally well. Could kiss 'em both if they weren't 100 miles away. That's probably one reason why they ARE 100 miles away, of course. :rotfl:
Yay - well done to both of them :j
Joshua started secondary school last September and he's been highlighted as gifted and talented. He's getting some extra help to nurture his skills.
James finally has an individual education plan showing the literacy things he struggles with and the work the special needs teacher is doing with him.
They really are like chalk and cheese! Here I go again on my own....0 -

I tried to go from brown to blonde but ended up ginger!! Which reminds me that I need to dye it again to see if I can make it the rest of the way!feelinggood wrote: »They'd probably do, but I think I'll stick with abstinence! I did, I went out!! :T:T:T:T:T
Congrats on going to the group! Were there any nice mummies and babies?? I find I have to like the baby to like the mummynot that it is possible to not like a baby but you know what I mean!
Best thing about those groups is that you are never struggling for conversation - there is always baby stuff to ramble on about - and if you aren't talking to any other adults you just busy yourself with baby!Course he does you silly moo!!! Think men notice this stuff? No, it's just us. You grew a baby in your tummy it's a big deal be proud of it.
And that first time is like being a virgin again, I'm looking forward to it!
I second this - hubby is convinced that I have come through pregnancy stretch mark freegod knows where he is looking, my back maybe!! But there is no way I am going to point them out to him!!
Tia - feels like being a virgin and still feels different 6 weeks or so further on...I am sure I will get used to it!
Sue - congrats on your clever babies! We were told we were graduands tooplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Good for you Feelie. We're all v proud and so should you be. Did you like the group?
And I agree with Tia and the others. If you're worried, keep the lights off.
Sue - congrats to your boys. Clever things.
Imogen is currently upstairs yelling that she doesn't want to hear the birds singing. Classic "I don't want to go to bed" tactic. DH has just been up to put her in bed and discovered she's put her sandals on :rotfl::rotfl:

YAY for Erin ( typed Eric first lol)
Benjamin keeps rolling his bottom half back to front so his knees are on the floor but he can't seem to manage to get the top bit over because his little pudgy arms get in the way!!
He is getting good at scooting round 180 degrees to face the other way though - confusing when you go to get him out of his cot - how the hell do you do feet-to-foot when they keep turning themselves around!
Benjamin has been asleep since 7pm, in bed since 7.30pm and hubby is out for the night at a concert so I am all alone. Funny how you crave some time to yourself when you are so busy all the time and the minute you get it you feel all lost!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
