    Hi all,

I have just found this thread and havent caught up on all 57 pages......sorry!

I have a 7 year old boy and recently, he seems to have been picking up all sorts of bumps and scrapes to his legs.

Hes just learned to ride his bike a few weeks ago, he plays football, both at school and at the weekend....... and his legs are a MESS!!

I mean, Im not exaggerating......they are BLACK AND BLUE AND RED, from above his knees, right to his ankles. There is not an inch of skin that doesnt have a mark or a bruise or a scrape.

It doesnt help that he wears shorts to school, so of course he picks up all sorts of bumps and knocks there too.

Im sure people must wonder when they look at him, what on earth he has been up to - but short of keeping him in and not letting him play - what els am I supposed to do?!

Contraception - Nothing suitable for me, seems only choice is natural family planning or abstinence. Seeing as getting pregnant again wouldn't be a good idea (don't fancy hyperemisis, SPD and pre-eclampsia with a baby to take care of) I'm not sure what to do.
I've got this book on NFP and would recommend it. That sounds nasty - I had hyperemesis and that was bad enough on it's own.

xx_Jo_xx arnica cream is good for bruises - it makes them not so bad if you put it on fairly soon after it happens and it also helps them not to last as long.

All the lyrics are actually very good IMO, all about having self confidence :)

It does sound like he is either very clumsy or bruises easily, maybe you should get him checked by the GP incase he has something like dyspraxia or that blood problem that makes you bruise easily just in case

hello ladies! well thats us just back from the beach! weather wasnt too great but the kids loved it! charlie covered his food in sand and ate it ewwww! and abi ran around with a crab!
the beach we went to is meant to be the best in fife however i found a needle:eek::eek::eek: hence me going into panic mode and having to stand over it until one of the dads got something to pick it up with! am so glad that it was me that spotted it before one of the kids got it. we were in a little enclosed bit so we all scanned around but there were no others. why do people leave things like that lying esp when kids could get to it:mad::mad::mad:

Well never jokingly tell him to say to people that you hit him with a stick. Seriously, I told people my Mum hit me with a stick :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

My boys are the same, covered head to toe in scrapes, bumps, bruises and cuts. It's a boy thing. I dread bathing them, never know what's dirt and what's not.

I was singing Prince Charming to Izzy yesterday and doing the dance - she found it hilarious. Just back from town - we live at the top of the hill and I'm sure it expands in the heat - I feel like I've walked for miles! (actually it's not even a mile each way... not far off though) What a wimp.

Izzy is trying to work out how to blow raspberries today. Everso cute.

Not even condoms an option? Way down most people's lists but they do the job...

Kai has started waking in the night starving hungry....I have tried to refrain from feeding him but have had to give in and do it a few times now, he literally wolfs down a 7oz bottle in 10mins!!! Not sure what to do, as if I don't give in and feed him I get no sleep as he wakes every 15-20mins until I get up with him (usually between 5am-6am) and feed him, but I don't really want him to get used to night feeding, after months of not needing it!!

    Mel x

Elijah had weeks of no night-time feeds, bedtime 11pm through to 7am or so, when he was 3-4 months. Then his bedtime started shifting earlier (thank god) AND his reflux started causing more real vomiting, and 6 months later he is still getting at least 1 night feed :| we might try to break him of it when back from holiday, not sure. Would really be nice...!

Our tractable, friendly little baby is showing the first signs of incipient stroppy toddlerhood...! In the last 2 weeks he has both

discovered his "outdoor voice", and feels it is ok to bellow at the top of his voice, I mean -really- loudly, the instant anything is not to his satisfaction,

and refuses to lie on his back, desperately arching and wriggling and screaming and crying as soon as you try. As you might imagine, this is making nappies a challenge. Cue comedy standing-up changes, and desperate distractions for 20 seconds of activity flurry...
I am sort of hoping that this really is just him throwing a tantrum, not something causing him pain or discomfort suddenly - we can't see any marks on his back, and he can be distracted, so I think it's probably just his diva nature coming through...

Still, woke up 30 minutes ago on the top floor Attic Suite of www.maccallumhouse.com, looking directly out the window to an amazing sea and cliffs view, gorgeous sunshine and the prospect of a huge breakfast followed by hot tub among the redwoods awaits me so I shouldn't complain too much :D
