nice and simple :T glad it went well! whats meptid? is it like pethidine?
Thanks :) Yeah Meptid is like peth, the general consensus is that its better for the baby than peth and also tends to make the mum less mental IYKWIM :rotfl: unfortunatley not all PCTs offer it as it costs four times as much as peth

Tine - do you have a BFing pillow or did you have a body pillow while pregnant? I've got both and find them useful especially at night when I can barely stay awake let alone hold Ed for ages :)

Here's my Ed in his Cow outfit (he's lay in the BF pillow in case you're interested Tine)

Maybe she'll take the bottle if she's hungry and there's no sign of you? I'm scared of giving Ed a bottle now :p How will I know when its ok?
I'm very pleased with myself because He's now 2 weeks old and my goal was to BF for at least 2 weeks as I didn't manage that with Chris :)

It's not recommended to start giving bottles until six weeks but we gave three (which were unplanned) in the first week when I was really sore and then started giving one every evening from ten days until 13 months (which was when we dropped the 10pm feed).

    Hiya

I'm wondering if someone in here can give me some advice. My 5 month old son has suddenly decided he prefers bottles to the breast and will now scream if trying to breast feed him but loves the bottle?!! Complete opposite to he has been previously! I really want to continue to breast feed him and am not convinced I'd get the time to express all day to give him expressed milk. Any suggestions gratefully received. I've spent the whole morning trying to feed him and have lots of screaming :(

I would think there are three options:

    1. Don't give him anything other than the breast so he has no choice.

    2. Try giving him part of a feed from the bottle so he isn't ravenous and then top up with the breast. Over time you could reduce the size of the bottle given before the breast.

    3. Give up and just give bottles.

No idea which would be the best.
