Sm - as u see from her sig MFD is a wise woman ;) I've got a mothercare vest on right now :D I find it easier at the mo to get boobie out as I'm a newbie but was just toying with attempting it in the proper peek-a-boob way now I feel better.
I'm still a bit clueless as to how to feed in public but I plan to practice in front of the mirror and at booby group 1st :rotfl:

MIL has penciled us in for going round for tea at the weekend so I'm hoping to be half decent by then :undecided
I'm not bothered about MIL but FIL tends to make friendly jokes wich are well meaning but annoy me and BIL wouldn't know what to do if he saw my boob bless him, he almost ran out the door today when MW mentioned checking how I was feeding Edgar today

My BIL kept making jokes about me having my boobie out whenever I was holding/cuddling Benjamin - it took about 4 feeds before he came in close, going to kiss Benjamin and went 'oh f*** - you have got your boob out' :rotfl:

krystal you probably wont have the chance to do it again and it will be great to be you and not a mummy/feeding machine for a day! i say go!!!
whoever has the kids will prob be desperate to have them too:D

ok i need some advise from you all. i got app for sterilisation 2 weeks on fri and im having doubts. this way cannot be reversed. i know i dont want to have any more children but it seems very final, a few people i have spoke to have said that they have regretted it. also i cant get erin o take a bottle and she wouldnt be able to feed for a while.
What's for you won't go past you

just for the other side (i always seem to be the devils advocate on here) I couldnt feed in public, i didnt even want to do it infront of family... or anyone except OH and DD,
it just always made me really uncomfortable, i know plently of people who do it discreetly and ive been very vocal on here and IRL about a mothers right to feed where ever and when ever she damn well wants...

    it just wasnt for me

Krystal - i cant believe you got TG tix, i didnt get an email so im guessing we didnt get ours... ive been on that bloody list for 3 years! didnt get my QI tickets either...boooo

Caz - just a question, all your friends that regretted the snip... do they all have 5 kids?
personally i *might* have regretted being done after having Daniel (my 2nd) but im all up for a trip to the vets for me or him after baby number 3

ooh just saw someone talking about headstart I did it when I had Chris; ours was 12 weeks long and I think it is fantastic :D I was scared to go but seriously if you are invited to one GO! Its where I met my best local mummy friend and really helped me in the early days
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

emlou I might be wrong but the lnd line is has nothing to do with your internet connection, every now and again ebay randomly select you to have to enter a pin which you must recieve by phone si I guess if it went to your mums etc youc ould call her once she got the code then just type it in. That is what I have had to do once in the past!! I don't think they need a landline for any other reason.

Caz I was down at a wedding at the Howe country centre at giffordtown and we stayed in Auchtermuckty. Is Freuchie the one with the BP with the indian takeaway in it????

  • Caz - with all due respect, you are very young to be sterilised IMHO. I know you don't want any more but believe me, life changes when you reach your 30's.

Keep up with the depo or whatever and leave your options open.

Or just tell me where to go!! ;):D

CG - I'm surprised! Shows how much I know!! Most of my friends wouldn't either and none of them stuck bf'ing for long. Thing is for me the embarrassment/upset of having a crying baby is much worse to me than getting my boobie out even if everyone could see it :D

Edit to say - Caz...I didn't mean that to sound patronising even though it did. Sorry.

i know exactly what you mean, when danny was a day old my dad turned up for a visit at the same time babe decided he was hungry,
so i started preparing as discreetly as i could only to see my dad look away and say "hes not going to eat ALL that is he??"

    the old codger! :o

Thanks MFD, I'm freezing in 4oz bottles at the minute but I suppose they'd be good for a couple of feeds if she doesn't drink it all in one go... She's on a 2hr cycle at the minute, sleeps for 2hrs then feeds for 2 hrs (on/off/on/off... you know how it is...) I'll try and make sure there's more than enough... and I'm sure I have the avent disposable feeding system stored somewhere so I can always freeze up a couple of bags and let my Mum know they're there in case of emergency...

Thanks Caz :) (I'd probably have to take the pump with me, might not be a feeding machine for the day but would still be a milk making machine!!!)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
