Did anyone caught in this scam use the Agency 'Close Resource'.0

Isn't it far past the time that one of the accounting bodies stepped in and got to the bottom of what has happened?
Before these professions are discredited (or is it something to do with human rights legislation again?)0 -
i havent read the whole thread , but i am puzzled as to why people hand over their tax return money to another company to pay it to HMRC?Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

I agree with John_Pierpont. The police are not going to be of any use in this case, because Bradbury are probably just a badly managed company with no moral standards. I am not convinced they are doing anything illegal, and nobody has yet been able to give any proof of criminal activity on this forum. I think rather than running to the police it is better to approach if from the other side, contact the regulators and get them to look into these dealings. The way I see it, the only real problem we currently have with Bradbury is that they are "anonymous". They are not contactable. We do not know where their physical address is where the staff are actually sitting. We do not know who are managing the partnerships and Bradbury refuse to give out this information.0

Has anyone tried to call the telephone number that you have for your Partnership?
I just did and it went to accountants called Millen & Necker & Co in Kent. I have double checked the telephone number on several pieces of correspondence and it is definitely the one, but Millen & Necker claim they know nothing about Bradbury, Sunday, or my own partnership. Very strange.0 -
talk about breach of privacy!
You have published this fellow Ewan Hayes's details so I called him to check this out. I guess that you did not bother. I explained what you had done and where i got my information from.
According to this guy Ewan Hayes he was originally given access to some data by Andrew Nyiri a director of Bradbury and Co Limited, he was a free agent in this and was not asked to sign any confidentiality agreements, as were 2 others but then others in the Sunday Solutions set up stepped in and jumped on Mr Nyiri.
It appears that they are worried. They stopped the setting up of a deal.
They threatened Mr Hayes with legal action, according to him.
The two others gave up.
It looks like Hayes has been treated to the run around by the people behind this scheme.
He spent time trying to sort out a deal. He has lost money thanks to them.
Having been a contractor previously trying to help people earlier this year, he realised that there was a problem that was not being solved.
O K he is an accountant so he has to charge.
After speaking with this guy I did not find that the accusations made were very fair. I reread what his letter said and he does say he is independent and not associated with Bradbury and he is not. It really is not fair to tar him with the same brush as that other bunch without at least talking to the guy.
I understand your point, and maybe I shouldn't have said he was dodgy without checking first, but at the end of the day, he has my personal details from Bradbury, and is offering his services for a charge. I've already lost enough money, and am not about to pay someone else who may/may not be associated with Bradbury for services which they should be doing. I don't want to get into an argument about it, I just wanted to let people know the information that I have received. Ewan has got to understand that there are a lot of angry people out there. I won't say anything else now as it isn't getting anyone anywhere. The last thing I wanted to do was to upset anyone.0 -

I personally, applaud you, Theresa, for your attempts on shedding light on this issue. If Ewan Hayes is just an operator with no real blame, then he could clear his name by coming onto this forum and explaining what he knows about what was really going on. As an accountant working for Andrew Nyiri, he probably knows better than anyone what Bradbury and Co are really up to.
If everyone was like Theresa and made this kind of information public, we would be able to piece together the evidence and make some sense about what's going on. Companies like Bradbury and Co thrive on the fact that people don't want to discuss their personal tax matters in public. Theresa didn't sign any confidentiality agreement - she just received this email from out of the blue and has every right to publish it here for everyone's benefit.0 -
Hi everyone,
I have also received the email that Theresa2381 has from Ewan. This email lead me to search the web as I was exceptionally worried by its content and unfortunatly these threads have only made me more concerned.
I am in the same boat as the rest of you. I was with Sunday Wealth Management for a 6 month period of 08/09 tax year. I had previously chased Bradbury and Co for updates but naively thought nothing of their 'we're getting round to it' emails.
I have been reading this thread and the thread on ContractorUK and have a couple of questions:
1. Has anyone not received anything from Bradbury and Co for their 07/08 tax returns? I have read posts where accounts have been provided but they lacked details and the charges on the account were very high but has anyone not received anything?
2. Is there any active group of people taking legal action (criminal or civil) against Bradbury to try and recover their money?
3. Is anyone in direct contact with the police and actively pursuing a case?
I have read lots of complaints but not really seen anyone taking action, is everyone at a point where they are accepting they have lost their money?0 -
Hi guys,
I am caught up in all of this as well. I have been messed around by Bradbury for over a year now. I was a partner in HEYDER TREVINO for three months of the 07/08 financial year. After many emails exchanged with a - then helpful - Andrew McIntyre, I was given my Draft Accounts on Sept 17 this year with no explanation of the values. I had been charged 4k in fees for the 08/09 financial year, when I had clearly left the partnership in 2007. Communication with Andrew dried up after receiving the draft, and after dozens of emails trying to get an explanation of the accounts I was handed over to a Claire Palmer (tax@bradburyandco), who was again very responsive and apologetic, giving me updates daily (no valuable content, but at least there was some level of communication there). Then last week her and Andrew's email addresses bounced.
This prompted me to go searching. Now I have read through this thread I can see I am not the only one. Relieving on one hand, but angers me further on the other.
As it stands, "I" owe HMRC around 1.5k and Bradbury is withholding around 3.5k for me. According the first draft accounts which I am arguing, they are trying to charge me 6.5k in fees over the two financial years which means they expect me to pay them more money and foot the bill with HMRC myself. Screw that! They can sue me if they want a penny out of me. Chicken feed compared to your liabilities it seems, but the hours I have wasted, and the frustration I have felt trying to deal with this situation, has left me with a deep seeded desire to get my money back out of principle.
I will continue to monitor this forum and consider getting involved in any class action against this two bit operation.
Has anyone had their tax payments settled by Bradbury recently? How were you contacted with the accounts - email or post?
On advice from HMRC, I have had Bradbury removed as my representatives at HRMC. Apparently this means they can still submit payments for me, but cannot access any information and any overpayment will not be returned to them. As I am about to pay them myself to get them off my back I think it is important that Bradbury don't get any refund if they then also eventually make a payment for me. Maybe worth everyone doing that to prevent further fraud, if this is what it is.
Cheers

mat64b: Yes there is a group taking civil action against them. I would also be interested to join this group. If we all team together and split the cost, at least less risk in throwing more money after bad money. Police are not going to be of any help here from the sound of things.0
