As always where's there's a will there's a way - I notice now that regular buyers work the system by making an offer to the seller to end early & save the fees.

Can I please have your mind reading machine? I *bet* that would sell on ebay......

  • For goodness sake, is everyone just an uptight smart -*rse on here? Perhaps more people should click on the etiquette tab at the top of the forums.

I speak from personal experience & chatting with the large amount of buyers that have made me offers in the past month for things I have been selling - obviously.

I give up - all I see on here is sarcasm & short fuses from people who seem to unhealthily live on here all day long & generally show no appreciation for others points of views.

Perhaps you could elaborate on your perceived knowledge of buying habits expressed in a previous post. How have you discovered this fact, is there a website exposing such activity?

Calling people uptight smart !!!!! isn't going to make your point anymore compelling. I think (and I do hope you'll appreciate my point of view (with free sarcasm)), that time and time again on this particular board (i.e. ebay, auctions) posters snipe at ebay complaining about fees/buyers/sellers/rules and so on. All the info you need on fees etc is clear before you start selling. You either do or don't. If you had been tricked by some hidden ebay policy then the guys on here would be the first to help you in every possible way.

and for all you unhealthy mse people thanks for being on here day in day out....you've helped me massively!

That's rather rude, personally I think you need to find the etiquette tab, along with the thanks button, as going through your previous posts you seem to ruffle rather a lot of feathers with your demeanour.

Speaking from personal experience, I don't think people are being sarcastic or that they have short fuses, and the only person I know that shows no appreciation for others, is the one that stares back at you in the mirror of a morning.
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

I would like to warn all eBay potential seller of their new post March 09 final value fee of 10.0% - have sold over 100 lots on the site I was horrified when my latest invoice came through - instead of a listing fee of approx £20 for three items I sold sucessfully on the site my bill was in excess of £75.00 - one item I sold for £300+ was clobbered with a finalvalue fee of over £30 - I am afraid that my eBaying days are over. The notification of these changes are buried quite deeply on their site and I am afraid I do not always read and respond to their alerts. Thisfollowed a very difficult week when an unauthorised person listed a number of items on my site and opened an eBay shop in my name and a sellers account - it took five very long and involved phone calls with the call centre to sort out the mess - they did give me a £20 voucher to useon the site but the aggravation factor was enormous. They also listed all the fees on my account for the bogus articles even after I had informed them what had happened. I have subsequently been told I was not the only person this happened to in the last couple of weeks - I would like to know if this has happened to anyone else!

so you got hit with an unsuspected invoice. HOW when if you list an item on ther last page before you click list it tells you exactly how much your current balance is, hows much FVF you will pay on the listing and how much the listing will cost, so all costs are their for you to see.

to stop unexpected large invoices, what i do is if i list items i will pay the fees straight away and if one of my items sells i will pay this straight away, this way i have mot faced with a large invoice each month.

i've often wondered why eBay dont introduce the option to have sales fees taken from the PP payment for that sale

Not you again, no short fuses hey.. Sent any abusive personal messages lately becky004?

Here's what the etiquette of this forum is: Read it.

"Please be nice to all MoneySavers : There's no such thing as a stupid question and, even if you disagree, courtesy helps.
Please be sensitive : This may be a web forum, but you’re still talking to other human beings. Repeatedly or harshly saying someone’s wrong, especially on boards like DebtFreeWannabe, Bankruptcy or Benefits, can lead to upset."

    & this:
"There's also sometimes a "this is our board" attitude that seems to not want new posters coming in and ruining a pre-established clique.
To be utterly clear - both of these go against the philosophy of this site.
MoneySaving should be fun. Everyone using these boards is here for the same reason, to save money. The site's motto is "Please be nice to other MoneySavers."

Is it REALLY so hard, people?

I reckon ebay must be really bad for stolen good laundering as they have nothing to loose so fees prob seam amazing, it the modern day fagin ha. Where else could thieves off sold stolen goods in past. Ebay turn a blind eye to it as makes so much money. You should google it i came across the facts by chance. They are the best off from it.
