    Hi grittyhubcap

My Tesco store will only accept vouchers if I have purchased the product.  I have spoken to Customer Services and the Manager but both insist this is Tesco’s policy.

As I have said before there is no National voucher policy only supermarket HQ’s that state what their policy should be.  These HQ directives are then overridden at local level by store managers, customer service staff, supervisors and check out girls.

grittyhubcap, could you post or PM me a copy of the response you received from Tesco HQ so that I can take a copy of it to my Tesco store.

    Thanks FF

Oops sorry to dissapoint. I have not got an email from Tesco's.

As I said above, I don't have a Tesco's near so I never bothered. I was just going by some peoples comments here (i.e they accept a percentage of total bill in vouchers) plus what I have seen on other sites.

It seems Tesco's policy has changed recently but I am led to believe they accept 5 vouchers per customer. I can send the link to the comments on the other forum.

I can only vouch for Waitrose as I have an email (6 per transaction), Asda and Safeways as I asked them in person (Asda = 10% and Safeway?- they just said they would take any).

    I await Sainsbury's response.

I used my 6 vouchers in Waitrose tonight, saving £1.50 without trouble. The cashier said I may have trouble in the future as not everyone is aware of the policy and following my limited investigations this may be the case in all the supermarkets. Some will accept some won't depending on location.

I have sent my email I sent to Waitrose and Sainsburys to Tesco's. I will let you know when they reply.

    Sorry for the confusion.

  • Asda do not reply to my e-mails regarding the use of vouchers to buy for the food in their stores. Does anyone have a written reply from Asda head office confirming what they will take in vouchers? thanks.

Finally got a reply from Sainsburys. All the stores will only accept the coupon if the actual product they are inteded for is purchased.

Still await email reply from Tesco.

I don't blame the head office, replying in writing, quoting anything other than their standard acceptance procedure, they could be had for conspiracy to defraud otherwise! I use a Asda near me and spent £40. I gave the lady on the till a little bag full of coupons and she said she'd only take 10% worth off the total bill. Next week a different cashier emptied my "little" bag of £12.25 on a bill of £19.79. It's hit and miss who you get :-/

Everyone's probably sick of Turkey by now but if you register with this site you get a free recipe booklet and you'll be sent seasonal packs which include money saving vouchers.

  • Any current Tesco.com e-coupon codes around?

I am an existing customer, so cannot use any ones "for new customers only"...

    Cheers,

when I received my last lot of Tesco clubcard coupons they also sent vouchers off various items, Tesco wouldn,t accept them unless I bought the items stated, however they did accept the £4.80 worth of vouchers from the Sainsbury magazine even though most were for Sainsburys own products- they scanned straight through.
I then went to my local asda who took all of my afore mentioned tesco vouchers which scanned through their till saving £6.60 ;D ;D

  • Im confused (I know it doesn't take much ) but unless I buy the item my Tescos has always refused the coupon. So I have just phone Tesco customer service 0800 505555 and have bee informed that it is their policy NEVER to accept any coupons unless purchased.Has anyone an email or written confirmation I can use when I next shop?
Asda will allow 10% off total bill which isn't that good but better than nothing, when I see other stores allow 20%-30% or even more.
