Well done Maz!!
Just an interesting note for everyopne who may be or is worried about sagging skin...
My physio says it can tke up to a year for skin to sort itself out so if AFTER a whole year of your weight loss you still have saggy skin then you know its time for snip snip
in all seriousness though dont have anything done till after a year!
I don't think I would be brave enough for the snip though.0 -

Lots of posts to read in only two days,
Snags, good luck on your date......Sounds like a good incentive to me. On your running and VLCD, if you are doing strenuous exercise a VLCD diet isn't good for you. When you eat a certain amount of energy is stored in the liver for "instant access", as you use all this up, your body then moves into long term storage areas, and it suddenly drops your energy levels, long distance athletes call it hitting the wall, then as you keep going you will start to feel better. Because you havent got any instant access, your body panics and goes for the easiest available energy, which may be muscle tissue, and this can be really bad for you, it includes your heart!!
You should talk it through with your CDC on what you can do if you want to stay on one of the Cambridge plans, which you should be able to do, but you need to build in food on your training days.
PAP - I'm with you on the extra meal every now and again, (well I did go a bit further and add a few glasses of wine and beer) sometimes its just a bit totally antisocial, and personally, I just need a break sometimes. Whats good for me is whilst I might have gone "off plan" for a couple of hours, I havent carried on going which is what I would usually do.
Shoes - It all sounds good so far, keep up the good work, and look forward to your Friday WI, you will feel wonderful next week.
Lisa - Week 6, and 29lbs, you are doing absolutley amazing, well done you!
And you Too Goldy - Slow and steady is really the best way you know,
And if I missed anyone out - Sorry, sorry sorry.......0 -

I hope it is ok to join you lovely people!
The story so far: did cambridge 18 months ago and lost 4 stone in 4 months, fantastic! Had to stop for a while for various reasons just before i had got to my goal, and have put a bit of the weight back on so want to get it back off asap. Did low carb for 3 weeeks, not impressed with the weight loss as I was REALLY strict and stuck to it rigidly, lost 3 lbs in 3 weeks so was a bit disappointed. Decided to bite the bullet and go back to cambridge, and started last Thursday on SS. think it was fairly easy to get into as I had already been doing low carb. Have got 25 lbs to lose in total, and so far in 6 days I have lost ...........7 lbs!!! Am thrilled! (That is according to my scales, I dont go for my weigh in with the CDC until Wednesday evening)
So have got 18 lbs left to lose. Feel fine, apart from wanting to eat! Although I am not hungry as such, just missing food, if that makes sense. hard also when cooking for the family, but being very good so far.
re the shakes etc, I love all 3 of the choc flavours, vanilla, fruits of the forest, capuccino. HATE the porridges and soups! And I also have been having the water flavouring, i know you are not supposed to have it until week 2 or 3 but it is the only way I can drink water, been drinking 3 to 4 litres a day and I only put a tiny bit of the flvouring in, just enough to take away the taste of the water!
Cant wait till I can have the bars as I love those! Also, I saw 21 chocolate tetras offered on Freecycle yesterday, and managed to grab them, so that should save me some pennies too.
Welcome Michelle! Well done on your losses before, and well done on nipping it in the bud... This is what i intend to do when i get to goal... o will give myself 7-10lbs threshold and if i go above that marker, maybe say 11stone, then i will be back into CD for a bit...
Well done on the choc tetras from Freecycle!!! Woot woot! what a boost!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
I'm back!!! Had a few hiccups but I'm back on track now. Had to eat last week cos I was on antibiotics and the doc said not to SS. However that became eat everything that doesn't move!!! Not good! Been back on SS for 2 days now and hopefully all the weight will drop off again....I was just into an overweight BMI and now I'm back to obese :-( Anyway i have new determination now...only 8 weeks til my hols so I have to knuckle down now!!
Well done to everyone who lost and hello to the new members xx

hi again poggy!
I've had a tough-ish day today and really didn't think i'd get thru it TBH... but i have...
Still have 2 shakes left for the day, amd contemplating mixing a cappucino and a chocolate and seeing what comes out??
I generally only have choc tetra, choc shake and force myself to have something else later in the day but i never ever enjoy the 3rd other flavour... as open minded as i am!
Does anyone have any fave flavours that they might consider doing flavour swaps, as i definitely have soups that i will never ever use... which i would swap for choc shakes!?I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

Well, its weigh in tomorrow. Most of the week I have stuck to the 1000 cals, but same as Duncan, we had a BBQ (but a quick decision bbq so only sausages and quickly thrown together homemade burgers!). I had one burger and one sausage and a mixture of rocket and lettuce which is growing like mad in my veggie patch. Also one teaspoon of dip. Oh, and half a bottle of white wine. Eek. Was bloody nice though!
I am determined to stick to the 1000 cals for a few more weeks though. Looks like I have lost 1 lb according to my scales but we shall see. My main aim is not to put any on now I am eating conventional food again. I really do feel motivated though, just don't want to eat it all back on like this time last year. Went for a long bike ride in our local country park today - pretty fast too as I was trying to keep up with energetic 12 and 10 year olds.
Keep going everyone and Snaggles just do what you think is best for you, then you'll be happy with your decision. Will report weigh in result tomorrow. Hoping its a stay the same or possibly 1 lb loss.Slimming World: SD: 2.05.16 SW: 13st10lb
