Hi Banburybride, how are you getting on? .. I started on Saturday after deciding that friday was going to be a far too hectic day to start, plus there were not going to be many loo's in the vicinity.. :)

So day 3 for me and going strong .. :) .. although yesterday was a pain with my other half going on about what delicious food he was making .. I havent told him that Im doing the plan so it wasnt his fault, but I could have thumped him .. lol ..

Onwards and downwards x
• Hi Kutiekat

Well done for getting back into it!! Well I did my 1 week week weigh in at home this morning (my counciller only comes every 10 days) and apparently I have lost 15 pounds!!! I cannot believe it! Im sure there must be something wrong with the scales!!!

Ive not been feeling that well these past few days so I will be honest I have only had 2 shakes and 2 boiled eggs each day, I cant shake the feeling of nausea!

How are you feeling? have you stopped feeling !!!!py yet? x
• Hi All,

I hope everyone is well. It's my first time on here and thought it might be good to talk to some other people that will be going through the same. I've not started on the CD just yet. Got my first meeting with the consultant tomorrow. Do they normally get you to do a week of low carbs before they will put you on the diet? When I spoke to her on the phone yesterday she said I should start cutting them out but it would have only been 2 days before our first meeting.. Also how much should I expect to pay? Ideally I would like to attempt the VLCD so just the 3 shakes or whatever a day.. Just wanted to know how much I will be out of pocket every week :)

Hi Banburybride and WELL DONE :D .. yes thats definately possible to have lost that much weight in a week on this .. sorry to hear that you are not feeling so good .. maybe you should move up to at least ss+ for a few days if not 810, just until your body is on the mend .. youll still lose weight :) ..Make sure though that you have the 3 cambridge meals to stop your body going into starvation mode, not really what you want as youll be losing muscle not just fat ..

My weigh in will be Thursday so not a full week but thats ok :) .. not feeling crap really at all .. had a couple of irritating headaches .. thats about it really .. :)

Hi Louise and welcome :) .. you should be expecting to pay around about the £40 a week mark for your diet .. which for me is less than all the dodgey food I was eating .. lol .. it is easier if you start to cut carbs and caffiene before going on this as you will have fewer of the day2/3 side effects as you should go into ketosis earlier.. the first week is the hardest, once youve got that licked you are rolling, it becomes routine and before you know it you will be at goal .. just make sure you work up the plans when you are as Ive notice that those that dont, myself included, tend to put a lot if not all the weight back on again.. and those that do follow the maintenance plans seem more able to keep the weight off .. dont want to spend all that money for nothing!! .. Start when you feel ready to .. and when you are going to be near a toilet .. lol .. Good luck .. :)

Keep your eye on the prize :)
• I think may scales were wrong! I was 5lb heavier this morning than yesterday so maybe only 10lbs! x

lol .. depending on what time of day etc and what youve eaten and/or drunk there can be an up to 5lb difference .. either way 10lb for a first week is fantastic :D
• Hi everyone

I'm now so low that I need to do something about my weight. It's not helping my already bad legs and lack of energy.

I probably need to lose around 5 - 6 stone:o

I have just contacted a CD consultant and she does home visits.

Is it better to cut down before I start on Monday?

Is there no meals at all, just shakes to start off with?

Thanks for listening and I hope I can share my journey with you all, for moral support really.

Thanks for reading

Hi Thinkthin :) .. the fastest way to lose weight on the cambridge plan is by going the just shake option (sole source) which results in about a stone a month loss .. It is pretty hard to start with and you will get carb withdrawal headaches and caffiene withdrawal headaches around day 2/3 (although I didnt get these just niggly headaches) for this reason it is better to cut down before you start to curb the headaches and to kick ketosis in quicker so you are not feeling hungry (which I personally havent felt from day 1 :) ), by day 4 ketosis will have kicked in and you will not feel hungry - wierd, I know but youll realise its just your head talking and not your body .. You do not have to do this plan there are other plans, you can check out the website .. sole source plus includes a tiny bit of protien and a couple of tablespoons of veg added to your shakes/soups .. and going further up you can add more and more but still lose weight .. Your counsellor will be able to tell you all about them :)

you should check out the minimins website, a forum for all types of dieters - they have a lot of advice, before and after photos, and people you can talk to about the plan -of course you can join in here :) .. and of course there's the cambridge weight plan website - they also have a forum ..

Im personally on the sole source plan and am aiming to lose 5 stone by the end of May, Ive just started .. day 5 for me ..

Its not an easy journey but it sure is a worthwhile one .. see for yourself :) x
