Hey everyone, well I have started!!! Had my first shake this morning (Choc mint - it was quite nice actually!) looking forwards to getting through these first few days so that I am in ketosis and feeling fab!! How is everyone else doing?0

.. Day 3 is usually pants .. lol .. Did you prepare yourself or did you go all out and have a "last supper"?

I didnt really prepare apart from cutting out diet coke as I have a complete addiction so have headaches the past 3 days so another 3 to come whilst going into ketosis! We had a last supper of roast chicken last night so I expect to feel rubbish the rest of the week but better by the weekend!!

I know I should be preparing .. but sadly Im not .. I know for a fact (been here before) that Im not going to be able to eat like this ever again .. has to be a complete lifestyle change .. although Im ready to give that a go from friday .. not quite ready to let all the "bad" foods go just yet .. lol
Ive read in some forums that you can drink coke zero on this diet as it doesnt contain citric acid .. not loads though, I think just the odd can/little bottle that may help you if you are having trouble giving up the black stuff .. lol .. prehaps a can once a week as a treat .. Im not a fizz junkie .. Im a carb junkie .. sadly there are no carbs allowed (low gi ones reintroduced in maintenance) but do have the bonus of choccie bars .... I very much love the cd choccie bars .. so I feel like Im being treated ..
I need to look at it as treating my body to being healthy and sexy

well enjoy your last few days kutiekat!! yea I heard that about coke zero but I need to try and kick the habit anyway as I can easily drink 2l of diet coke a day without even thinking about it!!
I have struggled today, I have had a splitting headache and had to drive to Norwich and back today which is 3.5 hours each way, normally I munch in the car!!! Also because of leaving for work so early and being on the road alot I have to have the tetrapaks twice a day and I hate them!!! When can you have the bars?0 -
The bars you are supposed to get after your second week as they are higher in carbs and a tad higher in calories, in some people can delay or even knock people out of ketosis .. Ive not had any problems with them at all and most of the people I know who are on the diet havent either .. I am going to start on them straight away as they help me with bathroom problems (not sure if youve experienced that yet) and dont hinder me in any way weightloss wise .. if you are a chocoholic like me .. Id recommend the choc orange one .. tastes like the chocolate orange creams you get in quality street and roses (dark choc) .. and the normal chocolate one is nice .. tastes a bit like milkyway .. lol .. both of them have real chocolate on them ..... Im salivating right now ..

To get me through I make muffins out of the choc shake packets .. just add a splash of water in a ramekin, mix so it looks like cake mix and microwave for about a minute (my microwave is 850w) does taste just like cake ..
I have the choc tetras (now there's a surprise) sometimes I make them into hot chocolate
Second week you can also get mix-a-mouse which makes the powdered shakes into angel delight ..
Dont worry about the headaches etc .. is completely normal on this .. day 2 and/or 3 I end up feeling like Ive got flu .. by day 4 you stop feeling hungry, the headaches are a sign that ketosis is setting in so stick with it .. once you get through your first week and get into a kind of routine the diet is really easy because you dont feel hungry at all .. a very wierd and empowering sensation .. plus youll be dropping a dress size roughly a month .. and all the vitamins etc make a lot of people feel fantastic.. Good skin etc because of all the water .. so it is all good ..
Keep with it .. its really worth it .. and it does get easier.. Good luck for tomorrow .. Im having last supper tomorrow and Ill be joining you on friday .. Keep up the good work

I'm glad you said that as I woke up this morning and said to my OH, I think I have flu!!!! so at least I know its not!!
I havent actually felt hungry at all, not even on day one so thats a bonus!
I find the tetras really strong! I was sick last night but I think its because the one I had was so strong, this morning I mixed a choc one with a wee bit more water and it was much better so think I need to be mindful of that!
Did you se the diet show on telly last night that featured cambridge diet - it realy spurred me on

No I didnt see the diet show last night .. what channel was it on? .. Ive been looking at some before and after shots of people and some you cannot even recognise are the same person .. Id like to be like that .. reinvent myself ..
Oh Im certainly going to enjoy my last day of freedom .. but I am very much excited about starting tomorrow .. Ive only told two people that Im doing this .. one will probably blab .. lol .. but I want people to notice a difference without knowing what Im doing .. I know Im wierd .. lol ..
I dont get the hungry thing either .. my tummy rumbles a bit .. but I kinda like that .. makes me feel like its working
The high should kick in around about the weekend for you .. while Im having the flu bit .. lol .. Have you taken a peek and stepped on the scales yet? ..
How much water are you drinking on this?
May will soon be here .. keep your eye on the prize ..
