I've been like that with every other diet.

The mini target sounds like a great plan.

We will get through this together and inspire each other

Hello everyone - I am new

I started CD Yesterday and I am finding it pretty hard. I love my food, from making it, the taste, the texture and seeing my family enjoy what I have cooked. But at 244lbs I NEED to lose weight for my sake and theirs.

The shakes I am not finding a problem, the soups are OK but the porridge is yuk - but I bought the stuff so I will eat it!!!!

Weigh in No 1 on Thursday [gulp]

Off to bed now - can't eat if I'm asleep!

    Welcome aboard Diddly!!!

There are a few of us who have just started. I don't mind the porridge just have to use the right amount of water.

Stick around. We're all here to help each other!

welcome! I think there's a new gaggle forming... so the more the merrier on this daft diet (I must be daft to have suffered the horrors of the chicken and mushroom soup earlier).

I know what you mean about being asleep- I was lying in bed at 7.30pm trying to justify just sleeping there and then! sadly the washing machine called me.

After my previous post, I tried a porridge and actually quite liked it, I might go back to my CDC and swap some of the flavours I don't like for the porridge which I did like.

Let us know what you lose- it's the motivation I've got so far! Although I did cheat and stepped on our scales- they show I'm 4lbs down :eek::eek: which can't be right! surely? one day in... surely not!

I had fruits of the forest for breakfast, and spicy tomato soup for lunch, its day 3 and I'm starving. I've been fantasising about cheese sandwiches all morning!!! ARGH!

I have succumbed - not to cheese sandwiches but to tomatoes! They are basically water but I NEEDED something. I am trying to be good for the rest of the day!

things that helped me when I felt like eating were....
    • sugarfree mints/gum (not too many mind)
    • more water
    • cleaning teeth
    • embrace the hunger pangs (you're not going to die) feel that fat melting
    • When I thought 'OMG, I really want XXXXX (whatever) I'd tell myself I knew exactly what it tasted like, it wasn't some magical out of this world food I'd never eaten before so I wasn't missing out and it wasn't that I could never have that thing again, just not now

    Keep up the good work!!

    Yay! Well done!!

Great tips- thank you!! I was basically craving a pizza until unread that and realised I wouldn't die- you're right!

I've had a vanilla shake for breakfast- really nice! Then a butterscotch shake for lunch- non descript! Then a soup , leek and potatoe- really nice, then a banana just now- horrible. However I have been drinking 2 litres of water a day for years so I'm finding it easy to glug, hasn't stopped me reaching for the diet coke though- it was so hard to resist!

What are your favourite? I'm afraid of trying the new ones after the horror of the horrid ones!

    Good luck to everyone :)

Congrats on that. My first weigh in is tomorrow. I am not expecting much as I have only been on the diet for 4 days inc tomorrow cos we had a birthday this weekend when I was supposed to start and CDC told me to hang fire. Saw a friend of mine who I didn't know had started CD too - she lost 8lb in her first week.:)

    Hi

Helen - Well done for not eating the pizza. I know the feeling about diet coke but the more water you drink the better. I'm having all shakes this week. I really like the vanilla, butterscotch and mint choc chip. It will all be worth it once you get that first weigh in. I think it might be worth you talking to your CDC about including some protein into your diet also ask them about some recipies of other things you can do with the shakes. I've got recipies for muffins and biscuits.

Diddly - you will be surprised at what you can lose in 4 days. Let us all know how you get on.

    xx
