Cambridge Diet part II

Hi All,
Just a quickie - I'm on the train at the mo, yesterday was as bad as expected and today will be too up to lunch time. I have to admit to blowing it. I knew I would have to eat lunch, so I did, but then used it as an excuse to eat on the train, then I ended up having tea:mad:. There was no excuse whatsoever for the tea, just me being absolutely sh1te.
So today, after lunch, thats me straight back on CD. no excuses, got to get back on track. (and avoid any travelling) Its hard when out and about. You can't drink the water cos you never know when you are going to be able to get to a loo, yesterday I didn't get to the loo from 7.00am until 2.00pm!!! So you end up feeling starving.
Piratess, the carb withdrawal won't be so bad this time around if you have only been out of keytosis for a day or so, usually you can get back into it within a day or two, don't panic, just take a deep breath, remind yourself how wonderfully well you have done so far, how you are not going to waste all the effort you have already made and get back on track, you will lose all this extra bit really quickly as long as you get straight back on the plan.
Maggie, Well done on your 5lb, the time will fly by, it feels like a long time at the mo but it will go by quickly.
I sat and looked through one of the summer catalogues on Sunday, looking at things I would love to wear but havent been able to for years. Maybe I should cut out some fav ones and make up a picture to remind me why I'm doing this. Might stop the slips if I take it out and look at it first.
Cider - 8st is fantastic, and shows perfectly how well this diet works. 5 st back on;), shows exactly how it dosent if we go back to "normal" eating again. I didn't do quite so well as you on losses and even worse on putting it all back on again:o, but it does work if we let it.
HWGA - Glad to hear you are keeping on track, and busy, halfway through your target, thats great! Keep in touch when you can.
Skint, good luck on your start tomorrow, come and let us know how you get on, and if you are feeling weak, just come on here and vent - you might feel better after and think twice about giving in.
Kitti - 5.5 stone kept off is a brilliant achievement, and the fact you are getting sorted to lose more is even more so.
LML - Couldn't agree more, lots of people through ignorance mainly, slag off the diet. They are right in one respect. It is extreme. But it works, and it works for many people who have tried everything else. Leave them all to their whinging and take no notice, tell your hubby if he can't say anything supportive then keep his mouth shut - nicely of course or you will have another row:).
Br33ni - can't believe how good you are being. :A I just wish I could be so strong. Well done, I am very impressed, and must try harder.......:(.
Hunbun - Keep in touch and let us know how you get on in the WI , and keep away from that comfort eating:)
Well that wasn't a quickie in the end was it:o, better get back to work.
Bye for now0 -
Don't worry Piratess, I went off plan at the weekend (only one meal but had fizzy pop and some chocolate!) but went straight back on it and after being a moody cow for two days I feel much better now. As you've learnt, going off the diet doesn't have to be a binge. Get on the scales tom morning (nude and after the loo of course!) - it's only water and it'll come back off.
I'm sorry work sucks, the phrase ar*e and elbow springs to mind!
Maggie, I totally get the whole good day / bad day thing. 16 weeks from here will take you to May (ie Summer!) and you'll be rewarded with lots of gorgeous summer clothes.
CWR - wow! Really interested to hear about your next weigh in.
I love to read all of our posts, it really does help to know others are feeling the same way as me. It also helps when others are doing better at staying on track and remaining more positive than me! I wonder how Duncan got on with the work thing (lunch provided) as I'll be up against that tomorrow - looking forward to mixing up a milkshake on the train!0 -
Hi there, im thinking about doin CD as i have previously tried LL which only lasted 2 wks and the cost was so expensive, but i lost a stone in that time....so determined to stick to it and work through the hard times as i need to lose 3 or 4 stone at least. Excited about it but have no idea about how much CD costs per wk etc...could anyone give me an idea so i know plz. Im 37 with 5 children 3,7,9,13&15 and its about time i did this for me to give me more confidence and energy,
Hope some one can help. Thanksx :j0 -
LML - As you have now probably read, I was carp. More planning and willpower needed. Have a weekend away planned (rugby) which will defintely not be CD so MUST stay on track until then.
I like reading everyones posts too, it helps stay on track and its good to make friends in a similar situation. As you say, so many in the "real" world have little understanding, whether or not they mean to be so negative.
Tara - each CD can charge their own rate. I pay £40 per week for 21 tetras, if you are over 5'8" you have to have 4 a day. It is cheaper than LL. And with the savings you make on Take Aways, drinks etc, it can work out cheaper than eating. Unless of course you start paying the kids to make their own tea! A trick I tried last time!!!0 -
Well the posti just brought my packs so I am starting earlier than I planned - woo hoo! Unfortunately I have just had toast (shoved the last bit in as the doorbell went:() but can't change that - and far too impatient to wait until tomorrow! I can't wait to try all the flavours, but will have to pce myself;) From experience on CD, I liked everything hot, even in summer, so got chocolate, vanilla and latte mainly, plus a few soups, porridge, noodles (they sound yum:p). Got ketostix as I find that little pink squar a real boost, especially on hard days!
Well done to all who are doing well. And those who are struggling, stay strong and get back on it. WE CAN DO IT!!!!!0 -
Hi everyone, I'm feeling great today, a friend who's doing LL sent me an email yesterday that gave me a kick up the backside into being focussed. I was 100% yesterday and had a little swim (hurty back) and then a 15 minute sauna which was divine
I lost 5lb overnight!! Yay.0 -
Afternoon guys
Just managed to pop on quickly after another hectic day at work....coming to the end of day 32 :j yay !!!! Off out tonight, driving duty unfortunately but off to see Olly from X-Factor at our local Chicago Rock :j Very sad but good night out with the girlies non-the-less :rotfl: Just have to decide on what i'm going to wear when I get home... lets hope I can fit into more clothes than i could a few weeks ago
Emptied my wardrobe at the weekend of all the clothes that are too small for me at the mo that i bought when i completed LL 5 years agovery sad, but am determined i will get back into them !!
