Hello everyone,
Well last night went well, still 100% and ate my soup at the dinner table whilst everyone was dishing out stir fry! it looked and smelt deliciouse! but have spoken to everyone about it and they are more supportive towards me.:D
Duncan, I am glad you ar feeling alot better today, always horrible when you get caught out like that!
Poggy, Well done on the loss!!:T I cant wait to reach the stone mark!
Hope everyone has a great day!!!! :A0 -
:)Afternoon All :j
Nearly safely through another Cambridge 100% day for me....:T struggling, but am planning of keeping busy over the weekend, and of course 'drinks' with the girls on Saturday...water that is
Feeling a little nervous about WI tomorrow...20lb in three weeks down, I must be due a 'small' loss this week...am thinking 1 - 1 1/2 lb....whilst I know is still good and a bonus and a loss, but would be nice to have another good loss to keep me on the straight and narrow over the week because am struggling
Have a good weekend all:A

Ah, food Br33ni. I don't think I've ever had such weird cravings. Last night my oh had oven chips and fish and it looked a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Yet, that's not something I'd usually eat. I really miss any home cooking but the junk/sweetie pangs have really worn off.
Had some great family news (an enagagement) which will mean a family meal out in two weeks and I'm going to be eating. It's in two weeks time and I know I'll have to come out of ketosis. But I really don't mind, I'm just going make sensible choices and get back on it. I'm actually quite enjoying this diet now! Caught sight of myself in a full lenght mirror today and instead of the usual "urgh" it was more like "hey"!
1 stone poggy - well done - well on your way to slinkiness!
Dunc - sorry, but the dog walk story was so funny to hear! I have a very low sense of humour.
And HWGA dream eating is the way forward!0 -
Hey everyone well done on how you're doing! It's weird I've been really hungry today... but haven't been that hungry since I started. Last night was hard I sat with a bowl of porridge and watched OH eat TWO chicken kievs all crispy and dripping with butter and garlic omg the smell! and a plate of chunky chips!! and a carton of mango juice!!! arghhhh I was actually quite grumpy with him after that lol
Just a Q.. is there anywhere else I can buy CD stuff because I had my last tetra today booo they are my favourite. and only got a couple of porridges leftafter that I will find it hard as I have a few shakes but don't really like any of them. Hate the soups. Don't really like the bars lol.. just porridge + tetras and I don't want to sign up with another CDC as I have done much better this time round without one

Poggy 5lb Off:T, Fantastic and well done - keep it up.
Br33ni - well done on resisting temptation, I have to say I don't really try and eat with the family. I know its anti social, and it sends out the wrong signals to my son, although he wouldn't eat with anyone or eat full stop if he could get away with it - food just gets in the way of all the other things he wants to do. My Mum and Dad are retired now and Hubby gets in before me so they try and eat tea and clear away before I get in from work. Darling son still wants me to make him bacon butties after swimming though, thats his in thing at the mo and as he swims 5 times a week thats a lot of temptation:o. Caught them tonight though and did have a good sniff while I made some coffee and got my shake out.
HWGA - If you have been good you will be fine, let us know how it goes. It does slow down and you will get some weeks even later on where you lose 5/6 lbs and others when it might be 2/3, looking forward to hearing your result. You are hitting the hard bit now. The novelty has worn off, and you are starting to hit boredom and complacency. You know that you can do it and it works, and you know you are capable of resisting temptation - so now that internal argument starts in earnest, I can just have that meal out, take away, bottle of wine, and just start again tomorrow, because I know that I can already do it. DON'T DO IT - That is exactly why it took me over 4 months to lose 2 stone last time and by the end I was having more off days than on. Keep focusing on why you are doing it. Remember that you are not denying yourself forever - just a matter of months / weeks and then you will be able to start to join in with drinks, and meals, get back to cooking and enjoying food again.
Do as I say not as I do......I am so good at that, and if this time I follow my own advice I WILL be slim, fit and healthy.:rotfl::o:rotfl:
LML - It wasn't at all funny at the time, but afterwards I could see the funny side, glad I didn't meet anyone I know, mincing at top speed around the estate, and trying to bend down with clenched cheeks.:)
I miss cooking, I started making my own bread last year, and did a masterchef cookery course, did a dressmaking course about 10 years ago, might buy a couple of patterns to keep me busy, although theres a decision - what size to make?? If I start off with something to fit me now it hopefully won't by the time I've finished.
Actually now there is a good idea, rather than going for a simple pattern which I usually do, maybe I should find something a little more complicated that will take some time and make it to a target size to aim for. Mmmmm. Will think about that.
Chaz - I can't watch, especially if its something I really like. At the weekends I will take the dog out while they have a takeaway.
The CD supplies can only be bought from a CDC, they don't do mail order. You don't need to take all the support stuff from them. My CDC just does a WI for me and sells me the packs, in and out in 5 minutes, she lives about 14 miles away and lets me buy 3 weeks at a time, 4 if I'm stuck but she does insist on seeing you every now and again. I have two weeks supply, but am going for a WI tomorrow anyway. I have decided I need all the help I can get. I didn't go very much at all last time, and I think once you get further down the road it does help to know that someone else is checking up on me too. Its already made me think twice knowing I have to go in the morning after smelling tonights tea.:A
Well - I can't remember who talked about the measuring but I thought I would have a go.:eek::eek: I have no idea the last time I measured myself. I was when I was on Rosemary Conley. Don't even know what I thought it would be but OMG. 40" waist. Theres an incentive for me.0 -
Day 13 - CDC weigh in 5lbs off from last week:T
Still a long way to go , but I'm on my way. It hasn't been too painless so far, but I could really go for food now as the boredom starts to set in.
Last time on a Saturday night I would treat myself to a piece of Tandori Salmon and green salad. I am trying to avoid it this time, it was a treat and gave me something to keep me going, but I want to make this work this time so will try really hard to stay on track.0 -
:TYay duncan!! well done:T keep motivated and try your best to stay 100%
I am doing good, have had a few cravings but have restrained myself. It's now my 10th day over and been 100% all through(getting harder every day) but we will all get there in the end.
I have now also started dreaming about eating food, mainly chocolate cake and it was a complete accident in my dream. I woke up feeling so guilty! so I am now thinking about that guilt when i think i need to eat somthing and it helps.
Well stay stron everyone and keep on loosing :A0 -
Well done Duncan!!!:j :j0

Well done Duncan. I am still trying although yesterday was mil's birthday and I did eat. However hoping it won't be too bad as stuck to low carb stuff. I think I am trying it a bit differently this time but at almost 2 weeks in I agree it is soooo boring! The reason I said a bit differently is I am trying to think about when I feel I have to eat for a social reason - or when we go away in 2 weeks time. I have decided then to take porridge and bars for lunch (or soup maybe) but eat low carb and a little at night. Last time I cancelled things rather than sit without food when all were eating but this time - well I've lost some folks this year and I can't help thinking better to stay in contact than miss things that I may not get the chance to do again - or with those same people if you see what I mean. I've found it easier to go back when I have decided in advance rather than those oh s-d it moments when i feel I have given up. But re-reading your post it sounds as if you did the same so I will have to be very careful and if loss starts to tail off too much then revert to CD extreme!
However think we have all got to find the best way for us - and time will tell if I can keep going this way. OH now talking about giving up - very cross as it does help when you are doing this with someone. Also he is type 2 diabetic and should lose weight. he has said he will continue to eat low carb but i ha' ma' doubts that it will continue (both of us having struggled with weight for years).
Well done Dunc and Poggy on weight loss - fingers crossed for Tuesday when I get weighed again!
Good luck and strong wills to us all!

May I take refuge here please? I did CD about 5yrs ago and kept most of the weight off easily. But then I stopped drinking just before Xmas and started eating instead!!! I now live right in the sticks and there are no CDCs covering the area, no LL either, so I am going to do W8 by mail order:eek: As a rule I wouldn't be happy with this, but I am not worried as I know CD inside out, and know my own body too. I have just ordered 2 weeks of packs ( far less choice than CD sadly) and hope to start Thurs or so - as soon as they arrive! I will spend the next few days cutting back on carbs to hopefully ease myself into ketosis quickly (luckily I tend to get in quickly, so fingers crossed). So really, if its ok, I'd just like to share in the moral support here??
Thanks.0
