Hi, can I join, I did CD a couple of years ago and lost 3 stone but put 1 back on.
I'm due to start on Thursday when my CDC visits, I'm looking forward to it and hope its not going to be too difficult 2nd time round. I have read in different places that it can be hard restarting. The first time I found it very easy and enjoyed the shakes, hated the soups and the bars just gave me wind:o
I'll need to buy a new water filter tomorrow and some ice, I have to have loads of crushed ice in my shakes.2011 Sealed Pot Challenge #1238 hoping for £250 ~ saved £743.32

Duncan, you are back :j Woo hoo, made my daySo glad to see you are doing very well on the diet and are keeping all the other posters in check...
So good news, I will be back on CD Wednesday, as long as CDC has a slot the following Wednesday. For those of you who are newbies here is my story :rotfl: Sitting comfortable
I had heard about CD mid 2008. After researching and looking at my finances I decided against it. I then heard many of my forum friends attempting it and doing really well, so after researching it again I jumped right it. So I signed up with a CDC on 3/05/09 and weighed 17st 11... However I had lost 2stone+ callorie counting a few years ago. My highest ever recorded weight has been 20st 3lb. I also have PCOS so I knew this journey would be a long one ane I may have weeks I would lose less than my average.
So jump to around 23/8/09 I was 49lb down and doing well, I had been 100% uptill then apart from a small blip when I needed up a the plans (CD requirement) and everything was going well. however my CDC decided to stop trading. So I then moved onto her old CDC and the pounds started dropping again. All this time I have been helping on here and gathering more info about CD everyday.
However w/c 12/1/10 after advice from on here I went to the doc with the sympoms of diabetes. The test came back clear but the doc suggested I need to come off the diet as my ketone levels were really high. My CDC asked for me to go to another doc and get a 'better' diagnosis for my PCOS thinking I had a 'bigger' problem. Well I went before going back to the CDC and my doc said I was fine, I needed no more tests and he is happy I was on a 'certified' diet. I won't go into details but lets just say my feeling and some comments I decided to stay off the diet until Feb 9th. At this point I has lost 75lb as I put a little on once off the diet.
However due to attending a party in the 13th (which would have been my day 4 (worse day when first started for me) I am now restarting this Wednesday. Weigh-in is Tuesday this week and I will be happy if I am under 13st (meaning 67lbs lost since beginning). Please bare in mind PCOS means you gain weight quickly and I have also been gaining muscle. I am now running and exercising 5 days a week and I am monitoring my fat % as well as my weight. I want this last chunk of weight to not only get me to goal but also change my lifestyle. If that means lower weight loss/higher CD plan/non ketosis than I am happy with that.
So thats me, :T if you got all the way through. So according to my CD cards just now I am 75lbs down but that may not be the true numbers untill I have weigh-in in just over a weeks time. However I have lost a total of 38" from my body thats ben measured, I have also droped from 20/22 to a 14/16 in dress sizes. Of course I am not done yet, still work in progress but I am getting there.
Good luck everyone on your journeys and I will be 100% back on the diet this Wednesday :j
Pap
Ps, sorry for not going back over all the posts I have missed and comenting on them. However I hope everyone is well and on the wagon... And welcome to all the newbies0 -

Morning All,
4lb HWGA - Well Done, a superb result and you must be feeling wonderful. And 30 days, thats a milestone :T.
Thanks Br33ni and Poggy, and Maggie you are right, it can be very anti social this diet and hard to fit in with your friends and family. There isn't a right answer and we all have to find a way to fit it in with our lifestyle.
I have to go to London for a meeting tomorrow, which will involve lunch, thats always difficult, especially when it is a lunch meeting and sandwiches are provided in the meeting room. Coming home on the train is a bit of a tease too as you have complimentary sandwiches, and a crumbly thing, I do find it hard to turn down something thats "complimentary". (especially when its a glass of wine:o)
Skint, Diane, Nara - feel free to join in and help support us all. On here you give more than you get by joining in, the more posts the better.
Papster - Well I am glad to hear from you. And to hear to are doing great, in good health and ready to carry on. (Must admit I did get a little worried and checked out your other posts- so I knew you were doing OK, just not yet into to CD chat).
I have not done so well I am afraid. Fell off the wagon big time, tried to get back on a couple of times and failed miserably, then found the thread again, read all I had missed and just knew I had to get my head in gear and sort myself out. Oh and if you didn't read back, I actually thought I had got back to my start weight, until I found out my scales were weighing half a stone light, so I had actually gone UP by half a stone.
Hey, what exercise are you doing? After now completing 2 weeks, I need to start adding a little exercise other than walking the dog. Have a meeting tonight, but need to start planning something other than sitting on the couch when I get in at night.
Bye for now0 -
Hi everyone
Had a bad day yesterday and fell off the wagon. I'm back on it and I'll see what the damage is on my Friday weigh in.
PAP (and everyone else) I'd love to know what exercise you're doing. I've been at the gym 2/4 times a week for 45 mins of low cardio and weights. I'd love to up it a bit but I've been waiting for an energy boost as I do feel a bit lightheaded after my gym trips.
HWGA - Saw your birthday dress in Warehouse on Saturday - it's pretty short! But so gorgeous and would look amazing cinched in with a belt. Have you tried it on yet?0 -
LeantMyLesson - hiya, no not tried the dress on yet, waiting for it to arrive, didn't have a 16 in the shop
I held it up against me, and wasn't too bad, but i am only just over 5' 3" so no doubt will come down to my toes....:rotfl:

Hi Duncan, oh no about your scalesAs you know though it will soon start falling off
I am doing fine, my weight has gone up but considering I have stopped drinking water and hae been eating carbs its no surprise really. I must say though I have been a bit depressed after eating etc and my relationship with food has compltely changed. I guess its part and parcel of being on a liquid diet
Exercise wise I am doing couch25K, running in general (ie not using the programme), walking the dog for an hour at least 6 times a week and a handfull of fitness dvd's. In a few months I am hoping to start swimming and purchase an ecercise bike. I don't count the dog walking as part of my daily exercise so I would walk the dog ad run/do a dvd for it to countIf you start feeling light headed after a workout grab some cooked chiken <100g that should help a little.
Gradually lowering the carbs these past few days to get back on the wagon Wednesday :j0 -
Hi PAP, I've got over the scales thing, sort of! The relationship with food is the hard part and why I think its so important to go through maintenance properly. I am sure that is why I went so disastrously wrong. And because I was always starting "next" week, I was always stuffing myself with last suppers, and never actually starting:rotfl:
You've done well to get back on track so quickly, and to plan your start instead of having last binges - I am impressed;).
I have only been walking for about half an hour each night. I need to up this to 45 mins - 1 hour. I have some DVD's and a pilates thingy. Except its hidden at the moment under all the christmas decs that need to go up in the loft:o will have to get that sorted!
Also have a wii fit, again in the room overrun with the christmas decs......So there is a good reason for a good tidy up, which will in itself be exercise, and then I will have to write myself a timetable. If I don't I just won't stick to anything.
LML Weekends are always hard, I really struggle myself, Saturday night I ended up having a SS+ meal (Can of Tuna mixed up with some shredded lettuce and cucumber), not exactly Salmon Tandoori, but it served a purpose.0
