Hey everyone,
HWGA well done on the loss!:T
I really struggled last night, my OH's mum cooked a huge roast beef dinners, one of my favourits! I had so many arguements with myself and thankfully won. My OH saw i was stressed and upset and talked to me about it, bless him he is so supportive of meand really cheered me up.
So I am on day 12 of the diet and coping just about I am getting more cravings for food and having plan what am eating and when to help me get over what everyone else is eating. All I keep having to say to myself is it will be worth it in the end! the diet will be easier when I get back home and away from all the georgeous food being served here. Although I will be sad to leave!
I wannt to thank everyone for the suppport on hear as it helps so much!:D
Hope everyone has a brilliant day!:A0 -
Grr, this blo0dy diet! Had a bit of a spat with the oh about this diet last night. He uttered the immortal words, "you're just going to put it all back on. It's stupid".
It may be a drastic diet but I spent a year doing the whole healthy eating/moderation thing and I still struggled with my weight. I would rather spend 10 weeks on cambridge then soldier on through weight-watchers losing 1-2lbs a month and making everyone who comes into contact with me miserable because I am obsessed with food!
I could just sob because over the next few weeks everything is food orientated but I've only got a limited time to slim for my dress measurements. I don't mind not eating but I can't stand the insinuations that "I'm taking it too far" or "It's not healthy". The cambridge is probably the most considered diet I've gone on. I'm not starving myself to save for weekend "treats" or matching my exercise output to the calories taken in - in desperation after a few weeks.
I wish I had done this diet when I lived by myself after I moved to a new area.0 -
Hi Pap and everyone else, I'm back too........well kind of, I restarted my LL packs yesterday and was fine until the evening when I went a bit crazy
I managed to lose 1lb though and am counting it as day 1 even though it was bad.
A friend at work who's into weights and gym stuff has gone back on his own very different muscle/weight programme that lasts 100 days, so I've decided to "join" him in my own way and am going to keep on LL until my packs end (with a couple of planned days off this month and next).
I am fed up with going up and down the same stone, so will probably post on here every time I feel tempted to say s*d it....I want to get back to where I was in October before slipping the disk in my back. If I have to take the strong painkillers, I will need to eat sensibly, maybe buy some salmon or cottage cheese to line my tummy.
I also have PCOS and am shocked that I've put on 2.5 stone since mid-October but hey, it's there, it's making me feel fat and frumpy and kind friends are reminding me that I'm still 5.5 stone less today than I was a year ago, so it's still something to celebrate (though perhaps not with a cream cake, lol).
Hugs to all and a nice glass of water too0 -
Well my packs should be here either tomorrow or Thursday, so Thursday will be Day 1 - if they don't come tomorrow I will just have to ignore the tummy grumbles Thurs am until they do, I will not keep putting off starting:cool: The very friendly customer services guy also assured me they come in plain packaging, so I won't have to blush if they get left with a neighbour:rotfl:
At the moment I am alternating between trying to cut down on carbs so I get into ketosis quickly, and eating everything in sight because I won't be able to in a couple of days! Once I start, I will do it absolutely 100% - no cheats, no nibbles, no slurps etc:A. That was a weakness for me last time I did CD, I am sure I could have lost my weight far more quickly if I had followed it to the absolute letter.
So, well done to all of you who are doing well, and chin-up to those who have had blips - keep at it and think how skinny you will be come the summer!0 -
Hi Guys :j
Just a fleeting visit as busy busy at work with appraisals etc....still keeps me busy and not thinking about food :T
Hope your all doing well and keeping strong....day 31 for me...31 days to go until birthday 'treat'! :T around 100 more days to go until I've completed, fingers crossed  I WILL GET THERE....I have to be back in my size 10/12 come the end of May when I'm off to a friends wedding0 -
Hi all LCD dieters!!
Didn't think there would be threads about this on here, I've been posting on other boards but pleased to find people in the same boat.
I started Cambridge in August 2008 and lost 8st up until the end of May last year, there was a good few bad weeks in there when I didn't lose anything and not saying I found it easy, but all in all I was really pleased. Anyway, a few things happened including not being able to afford it due to getting son number 1 off to Uni and I came off it for 7 months. Back on it on 20th Jan this year after realising I had virtually no clothes that fitted me any more and I'd dumped all my bigger sizes, I'd successfully managed to put back on 5st in 7 months...eeek! but that was just eating and drinking whatever I wanted, not by being careful. I got weighed last Weds and according to my CDC's scales I'd lost a whopping 19lbs in one week!! had to get on twice cos I didn't believe it. That's a lot of water I was carrying there. She said don't be down if you don't lose for a couple of weeks now but I'm hoping the scales will be down again tomorrow. Good luck to everyone else restarting and those who've stuck it out over Christmas and New Year (full of admiration for you!)

Hi all,
All these posts help. I had my weigh in tonight and have lost 5lbs so that is 9 in almost 2 weeks. I am very pleased and now just need to keep going. That's nothing compared to 19lds in a week though!
i've always thought it's very unfair that weight gain/loss isn't instant - so on a bad day i could look like an umpa-lumpa (for those Dahl fans) and on good days when i have eaten healthily something like Kate Winslet (obviously without the rich oh, hair, makeup and general good looks).
Ah well, guess like us all i will just have to keep going. i worked out that I need to lose 56lbs which at an average 3lb per week would take 18.66 weeks. Dividing my 9lb loss by 18.66 shows me I have lost 10.7% - which is fantastic. Only 16 weeks to go or if I could average 4lbs per week - sad or what?
Goos luck and keep going folks (think of the money and how fab we will all look in bright summer clothes).

Re the heavy periods/spotting between periods - this can also be an issue when low-carbing. I was told at the time that some Oestrogen is stored in fat so when the fat get burnt at a rate of knots like on LCDs or low-carb then extra oestrogen can be released into your system, which can muck up your cycle somewhat. Annoying but I guess it shows it's working.
