    Hi folks

4.5 off at weigh in . Doing ok, but the last 6-7 weeks have really highlighted to me that I use food as a crutch. If I smoked i would be on about 50+ a day at the moment, so have got to find a way of addressing my 'need' for food:(. Explained what is going on to my cdc and she did question whether or not now is the right time to continue, but I feel that I need to as this is one area that I should be able to have control over! So.....the upshot is that I will not give up , but have to accept that there will be / may be days where I cave in, but I mustn't beat myself up about it. Does this ring a bell with anyone else?

Sorry if I sound really down in the dumps, just glad that I can have a bit of a moan on here and not have to explain just what cd is all about!!!

    Love xxx

BIG HUGS hunbun, I hear where you're coming from on needing control in at least one element of your life, been there (kind of still am I suppose, lol).

The sun was shining here at lunchtime and I was naughty and went out mooching around the shops.....and bought a lovely tunicy dress type thing in QS, in 2 sizes smaller than I am now!! By the time the weather is good enough to wear it, I WILL be that size.

I'm currently a 20, was just in 18s, depending on manufacturer;) when I had to stop in October, so I reckon it's doable. It has to be, I love the dress, I just HAD to have it!!
  • Kitti, You should leave your dress hanging on the Outside of your wardrobe, to remind you each day what you are working towards.;)

Hunbun - 4.5lbs Off:T:T absolutely fabulous, well done.
Food as a crutch, I suppose I do, but I think I just eat for anything, happy, sad, busy and stressed, relaxing, celebrating - just about any occasion. Plus of course the alcohol, I do enjoy a glass of wine or 3 and a couple of G&T's on a Friday night.
I totally get where you are coming from, and can spend a couple of hours arguing with myself whether to just sod it and have a night off. Sometimes the Slim me wins, and I will take the dog out or go in the bath. Unfortunately more often, the sod it me wins, and I feel terrible afterwards - never quite bad enough to never do it again though:o.
We do have to live and join in with others, and occasionally take some time out, but I know I can get carried away. When I reviewed my chart last time, with a bit more willpower I could have shifted 4 stone in the time it took me to lose 2. So the downside is you are following the diet for longer by taking days off.

This time I've read the yellow book from cover to cover about 3 times and when I have just HAD to eat, have had something from the SS+ list, instead of cheese on toast. (apart from this week when I was away - I know, just do as I say not as I do!)

Have a look at some of the diaries on Minimims, you are not alone Hunbun, we will all have good days where we feel on top of the world then others where we want to chuck in the towel.

HWGA - You make sure you get some rest and relaxation time too with all that working. Let us know how you get on with your WI. The gangster outfit sounds like a great idea:)
  • Hi all, glad to see everyone is doing well and well done to those of you lossing lots of lbs :T

Day one for me, only my second day one I will ever have.. doing well just one shake and 1.5l of water to go. I know this diet so well though I know I will do it to the book hence why I will not pop in like before. I wish you guys all the success in the world though. A few more lbs for me and I will be becoming a CDC fingers crossed :D

Keep going all, seriouslly from someone who couldnt walk up stairs without getting out of breath and am now running it is worth the effort!!!
  • Hi Papster - Lovely to hear from you. You will make a wonderful CDC, dont go too far away and keep in touch - you are a fab inspiration, we need you - not the other way around:grouphug:

    Hi All

Welcome Tara - you couldn't have found a nicer bunch of people to share your CD experiance with than all of the posters on here, they're such a wealth of knowledge and have pulled me through some hard times, even if I don't get chance to post I always come on here so hear how fabby my fellow Cambridgers are doing

hunbun - completely agree that I use food as a crutch - This became really apparent in my 2nd week of doing Cambridge - I had a massive argument with OH and immediately ate a piece of toast - !!!!!!!!! (Sorry about my language!) but thinking of it really riles me - I control my life and will not be held captive to food anymore. I feel like I have wasted so many years of my life making excuses not to go out with my friends in cause some drunk lad called me fat, not eating out all because I thought people would stare at me thinking "Why is she eating, she's fat enough", Not going in nice clothes shops as thinking that the assistants will look at me in horror because how stupid am I for even thinking that they would even stock my size. Sorry for the rant but I'm so determinded now and I hope that I can pass some of that on to you (Just not the crazy lady part ;))

Kittikins - I have also been naughty but I've convinced myself that mine is all in the name of motivation... They have plain black trousers for sale in Asda that would be ok for work, they only cost £5/pair, so.... I bought identical pairs in a sizes 20, 18, 16, 14, 12 and 10. I'm ashamed to say that the size 20 dont even fit (Asda Value - they must be small sizes :embarasse) And will try them on every Monday until I get to my target size 10 trousers

Duncan - you will be pleasently shocked by your Measure In - In my 3rd week I didn't lost any weight but when my cdc measured me I'd lost 2 inches from my waist and 2 and a half from my hips. It's a great motivator when the loss isn't that apparent on the scales

PAP - you'd make a great cdc - are you sure that you don't want to move to Stoke and replace my rubbish one :D

HWGA - Good luck on the WI tomorrow - i'm sure you'll do at least another stone before your girly night out

Learntmylesson - I've lost 19lb in 4 weeks too - It feels amazing doesn't it, are people are starting to notic on you yet? Everyone at my work is so complementary (I'm sure half of it is false though as half of my staff are temps and are hankering for a permanent job, lol)

Piratess - I'm sure you'll be fine at your WI, It's nice to hear how positive your posts are now, I remember how difficult you found it at first and you powered through.. you're an inspiration... Mental Pom Poms over to you :p

Right now I'm off to do my half hour on the wii fit

  • Morning all:wave: How are we all doing?

I feel so ashamed when I see some of you replying to everyone individually, somehow I can't seem to manage but I do read.

Stokegal - what a great idea with the trousers! Did yo get a funny look when you bought them??? I have 2 weddings to go to this year and have seen a gorgeous dress that I could wear for both (one family, one friends) but its £175:eek: I have told mylef I can have it if it fits in an 8, otherwise I will have to go without!

Oh, little MSE tip:D If you use ketostix, cut them in half lengthways - you only need a tiny bit to see if you are pink or not;)

    Have a good weekend!
