Hi eveyone
Well I go for my 3rd weigh in tomorrow and hoping for a good loss as I was a little dissapointed with 2lb last week but guess it was better off than on lol.
I just wanted to ask if any of you have drunk alchol on ss? I asked my cdc last week if it was ok and she told me as long as I stick to white spirits like vodka ect and diet coke or coke zero which is what I normally drink anyway.
Last weekend I went to my mother in laws 50th and drank and have to say I was ok no more drunk than usual but I have since read the DO NOT DRINK WHILE IN KETOSIS on the web site and listening to some peoples experiences I'm a little scared about drinking again this Sat coming. Last week I was 10 mins away from home and surrounded by family so know if anything was to have happened I would have been looked after but this Sat coming is a night out with friends in town and I really don't want to end up like one of those girls in the program boozed up britain:o
I am very good when I drink and know my limits but people have said one mintue they feel fine and then they walk outside and they hit the floor.
I know its ultimately my disicision but have any of you drank and been ok or have any of you had any really bad experiences? I just want to weigh up the pros and cons. My experience last week was fine but I don't want to put myself or my friend in a diffecult situation.
I guess I have really just answered my own question but if you have any experience I would truely appriciate itNothing to report:p0 -
Rolley ... all i can say is DONT DRINK !!!!!!! Not atall if you are on SS .. if your body is in ketosis it can kill you !
Im not wanting to scare monger but there us a forum that has a peice about alcohol whilst in Ketosis and its not good! ..
They do suggest that if you do need to drink you should start eating a day or so before out of their leaflets and then you should be ok .. Please dont take my word for this ..
Minimins has alot of info and also the actual main cambridge site does also
Hope this helps a bit xxHoping to be a thinner me in 2010!0 -
Well the cold got me, have felt dreadful all weekend!
had to go out Friday night, was marvellous if I say so myself, avoided a drink, stayed away from the buffet, and didn't have one crisp even when DS left the packet sitting looking at me.
Saturday AM went to see CDC, my new scales are definitley right, so I have more to lose than I thought:mad:.
Saturday PM had to take DS to diving, drank a litre bottle of water whilst waiting and was doing OK, but feeling awful.
Got home and put my PJ's on, and got on the couch - just really felt dreadful and had a slice of ham wrapped around a piece of cheese. Felt an overwhelming urge to eat. Got out my yellow book and read what you could eat on SSplus (should have done that before I ate the cheese and ham), and you can have 180gms tuna in water, so I had that. Amazingly I felt so stuffed!
Anyway, today I havent had to go anywhere so treated myself to a day in bed, got up and changed the bedclothes, had a shower, fresh PJ's bottle of water or 3 and my tetras, back to bed and watched lots of rubbish on TV.
Have just got out of the bath, lots of candles, and a bottle of sparkling water, back in bed now, still not feeling brilliant but do feel better than I did I think.
Survived today 100% I think yesterday my body was craving something because I felt so ill - I am glad I found the tuna thing, it is useful to know that I can have that if I ever feel really desparate. Will have to get some in.
First weeks WI tommorrow, fingers crossed it will be OK!
Piratess - your blip wasn't too bad a blip, (I have definitely had worse unplanned blips) and the best thing is that you have got back on track straightway. There is a terrible tendancy to just think you have blown it and end up binging.
Rolly, I would suggest its not a good idea to drink on SS. If you have a do where you are planning to drink, look at your book and maybe go for a 1200 day that day. The other down side to drinking is it weakens your resolve and you are more likely to start eating.
Poggy - :rotfl::rotfl:Me too! But we are older and wiser now arn't we. Not going to make that mistake again.
Bride - I hate making up the packs and just buy all tetras, which is the most expensive way to do the diet, it still only costs me £40 for a week.
Elky - I havent heard of that one, but presume its a similar thing, any support you can give or get is good on here.
Well Monday again tomorrow, can you believe it. One week gone for me, shame about Saturday night, but I am feeling quite positive, despite feeling dreadful.
Happy CDing everyone.0 -
Good Morning everyone
..
Hey Duncan was thinking about you .. not seen many faces here over the last few days ..
Sorry your feeling so rubbish, there are alot of bugs and things going around at the moment .. And YAY you for the tuna thingi usually have a peice of chick or some white fish roasted in foil ~yum~ ....

NO CARBS ... and then sundays they spend the afternoon down the pub playin cards ....So sparkling water for me ! haha ... is there anything atall i can have other tha this ? ....
Think ill discuss with my CDC when she arrives at 1.30
am cleaning this morning ...
Oh .i forgot! i almost lost the plot last night ! .. sundays always get me cos i usually cook a roast, last night i did sausages in thick onion gravy with huge yorkie puds and roast pots broc and mixed veg .. anyway ... i was dishing it out OH said "i dont want any veg" ... which wound me up, then my 4yr old said he didnt want any either!!!!!!!!!! i strained the Broc and tipped it up in the sink.. and i just thought "why the hell do i bother !!!!!!!!!! you should think youself lucky im cooking atal" .. ooo i was really angry! and spent the next half hour in the kitchen sulking
have a lovely morning all .. back after lunch xx with the results
Hoping to be a thinner me in 2010!0 -
Hey cambridgers had my third WI on Saturday...another 4lb down and gone which takes me to 20lb in 3 weeks :j Very chuffed, roll on the next 20 lb !!!:T0
-
WI this morning, 5lbs OFF:T. Its not marvellous for a first week, but given that I spent yesterday in bed, and as much of Saturday as I could manage on the couch, and ate, its not bad at all - its in the right direction and if I can do the same this week then I will be back on target.
The family left roast pork last night, just enough for one more dinner:eek: but I resisted had more water and went back to bed.
Feeling a bit better this morning, nose has finally slowed down:p, just feel very heavy around my eyes and and fuzzy in my ears (and Brain:o)
Piratess, I would feel exactly the same and would tell them to make their own next time - i love cooking, trying out new things and spend hours watching food programs on TV - have made a conscious effort to stop it at the moment, too much temptation. It drives you nuts when you spend ages making something and they don't even try it.
HWGA - Woopeee! 20lb in 3 weeks, that is amazing, well done you, the next 20lb will be off in no time at all:T:j.0 -
Thank you Piratess and duncan0808 for your advice. I've decided I am going to move up onto ss+ for Thurs, Fri and sat and will have my small meal before I go out. It's not worth the risk to myself or my friends.
I have just got back from my WI and lost 5lb which takes me to my first stone which I am sooo pleased about. I bought the mix a mousse today which I am just eating now and that makes a nice change to have something a little different.
Well done to everybody who has had a loss and good luck to those who have there weigh in's:j
duncan0808 I hope you feel better soon.Nothing to report:p0
