  • Hi Kitti - Have you had a good day? Pain and Food wise.

I think I am coming down with a cold, started sneezing and my nose is starting to run. Hubby is a pound shop fan, and has bought LOADs of tissues for a £1, trouble is as soon as you try and blow your nose the tissue disintegrates. Sometimes you just have to pay a little extra;)

Thanks Duncan and Kitti for the warm welcome and the handy tips. It is really nice to have people to alk to that understand. :j I will keep posting and hope that I will see some results on my W.I.
  • Have sent it over now Br33ni.

Off to bed for me - another tip! Early nights are a must when you start feeling like picking.

I'll just be taking a bag of tissues and a bottle of water.
    Goodnight

Wow ... good morning my lovely friends! ... and a big welcome to Br33ni :) ..
i agree with everything that has been said! the first week is definatly a huge test of your determination! I even bought a cross stitch from ebay
(never done one before) Just to keep my fingers busy not touched it yet though.
I had lots of bubble baths, early night, and evenings on the pc just to keep be occupied, i also looked through the slide show on minimins of peoples weight loss and that spurred me on also. My worst day was defo day 5 so stick with it.. believe me it is so worth it when you stand on the scales for the first w.i :)

Duncan you sound so much like me haha ! made me giggle when you said about the scales! thats somthing id do! and which ever weighed me lightest would be the ones i kept out haha!

Kittikins, hope your feeling a little better today ..... :)

Im off shopping this morning my eldest Dd is off to new york in feb with the school so have to go get her some thermals and bits and bobs .. cost you a fortune kids dont they! ... should be home by lunch time though, the weather is to awful to be outside for to long ..........

Choc shake and tetra all the way for me today another 100% ... ive poured my water into a 2litre bottle to keep check on myself as ive not been drinking it all .. :)
Hoping to be a thinner me in 2010!
  • Well after my upset last night have updated my chart, must have been 15.st at least, but I am just going to go with 15, don't need to upset myself any further.
Cold well and truly got me, sniffling away at my desk, although its a good excuse to stay in bed over the weekend.

Have to go out tonight though, my son has a presentation evening for the swimming club, he has had a good year and should pick up some medals:T

Chocolate Tetra for breakfast and onwards an upwards on the water intake.

So, after we have all been playing on the new scales here is a thought for you all.
My 10 yo nearly 11 yo son is 6 st, with my new found weight I could lose the whole of him and still be within the "normal" weight range for my height.
There is a truly scarey thought on how far I have managed to let myself go.:o:o:o

    Hi all,
Thanks for kind notes and at least I have managed day 1. Totally agree Dunc - hope that's not too familiar ;) I was freezing last night and sadly OH less than keen to warm up my ice cold feet. I'd forgotten that!

Day 2 - can't wait for burst of energy and feeling less hungry. As OH is on add-a-meal and DS still here having to cook - soup just not the same. Good luck to other newbies - we can do this and think how fab we will all feel (and look). I keep thinking of that nursery rhyme about a teapot - suits me at present - short and stout (that is a really horrible word and I must try to remember stout  when I am tempted to come off the diet. I do have a headache but think that is due to lots of carbs on Wednesday - daft really when CD counsellor suggested cutting down over the phone!

Still scales 2lbs down today - I know it is just water but still! I've been thinking of what Dunc and others said about going on scales every day - I too do that and the minute I am very bad stop going on scales (as if the fact your clothes are getting tighter isn't enough of a clue).

    Good luck to all,

    Maggie

    Good morning everyone,

Well I am feeling much happier now the headache is gone :) (hope it wont come back :() but woke up a little fresher this morning considering i was awake every couple of hours. I have had my porridge (although still getting used to the taste of everything, not quite the same) but no pain no game as they say!

Duncan thank you so much for that spread sheet it is pure brilliance!

Piratess I am going to keep plugging on and can't wait for my first W.I. I have sneakely weighed myself this morning although I know it will only be water and found I had lost 5 lb! :j which made me a little happy, I cant wait for Ketosis to kick in!

Well I am still positive and aiming to stick with the diet although my BF is home for the weekend and I am going to have to cook him meals. This is going to be my biggest challenge by far; cooking the evening meal without tasting anything!!!!

Well wish me luck and I am going to have to stick a horrible pic of myself to the kitchen fridge to keep me motivated.

  • Hi Ethans Mum, sent over the spreadsheet - I think its great and change what I hope to acheive to see how long I have to go.
Unfortunately I have had to change the start weight from 14.7 to 15, he ho, its my own fault I suppose. I know that even my "fat" clothes were tight, so should have realised that something was amiss.

Br33ni - I tried the porridge but couldnt eat it, I like porridge but made with cream and syrup:o thats my problem I suppose, I actually eat heathily but with the added unheathy extras, and I eat too much of it too! You are unlikely to be out of the woods yet on the feeling yucky stakes, but it won't be long now.

Piratess - Hope you don't / didn't spend too much on your spending spree. Kids just are not MSE are they?

Another choc tetra for lunch now, need to glug a load of water as I am lagging behind this morning, had gallons of black coffee though. Very busy at work so looks like I will have to work through lunch time, which will be a distraction at least.......
