  • :j Morning All, Day 3.
Had a 100%er yesterday, and managed 3.5 litres of water which is exceptionally brilliant for me.

Took Dunc out for a walk, and sat on the computer reading a diary on minimins, the lady concerned lost 50lbs in 80 days and averaged over 4lb loss per week.
For only 3 days out of the 80 did she eat "real" food.

So there is a bit of incentive for us all to avoid "nibbling".
If we managed that sort of average, us 4-5 stoners would be looking at 13-14 weeks for 4 and 16-17 weeks for 5.

Ive kept my target at 126 days for now and will see how I get on. I have to eat sometimes with work - its a bit awkward taking someone for lunch and not eating!

Feel a bit tired this morning, and sniffly, not sure if its the carb withdrawal, but planned an early night tonight.

Jerome & serena, welcome to the forum, Great losses in your first week, make sure it spurs you on for the next - you are right summer is not too far away and it will fly by. Keep up the good work!:T

Mercyknight - as a guy you have to have 4 packs and thats why it starts working out expensive. The normal make your own packs are the cheapest, tetras are more expensive. Must admit I tend to take all tetras, as I hate mixing up the packs and pay a little bit extra.
But Overall I do find it saves money. Lunches at work I usually spend around £3-5 depending on how flush I am and what I fancy. Drink - around 3-4 bottles of wine over a week, say £12-18, few beers £5, curry on a Saturday night £20, nibbles in front of the tv, chocolate & doritos & dip, £ 5. KFC or something similar with my son £10
Thats before I have done any grocery shopping, for teas and breakfasts:eek:

Use it as an incentive to keep going, you don't want to waste any of that money by buying any extra food and drink on top do you!!
Keep going and stop thinking about Pizza! Think of the new outfit you will buy when you hit target.
  • Wow - I've just added that up, even with the conservative estimate that comes to £67 plus groceries. I dont really notice it adding up like that as it comes out of different budgets, or hubby pays for the curry some weeks, I am in a wine club so that comes out separately, mmmm now there is some food for thought, (sorry for the pun)

    Afternoon everyone :) ...
Ive just done work thank goodness. I had to have the patience of a saint today! ... one real awkward client so had to use the whole smile and nod thing lol .
The scales are still moving in the right direction :) ..

Duncan, could you work out how many days it will take me to lose 4 stone? I started on the 4th jan .. it would be great to use it as a counter ...
Also ive had probs opening that email i click it and it wont open the file for some reason! .. not sure why

Hi Jerome/Simone! ... well done on getting cracking, looks like your doing wonderfully! .. this is a great lil thread everyone is so supportive so a very warm welcome to you xx

MercyKnight. I do understand what your saying about the price and yes it does seem expensive, BUT if you add up what you would normally spend a week on food etc i bet you would be pleasantly surprised! ..

I spend £39 a week on my CD supplies and i have a family to feed also .. but i found that during the week extra i would spend £20 on a curry, £15 on wine etc then at least £30 on extras from tesco so im definatly saving money :) ...

Im having my haircut this afternoon :) I cant wait i always feel like a new woman lol .. she comes to our house which makes things alot easier so thats cool :) ...

Hope everyone is having a great day so far xx
Hoping to be a thinner me in 2010!
  • Hi Piratess,
You have lost 1 stone in 2 weeks so that will reduce your average expected weekly loss.
So if we conservatively estimated 3.5 lbs per week, it should take another 12 weeks or 84 days to lose the next 3 stone.

Of course this is based on SSing and no cheating or nibbling.
Mid April!!! Now that is not too far away at all is it.

If you did manage to average 4lb pw which some people do, then you would only have 10.5 weeks or 74 days to go, so you would be looking at the beginning of April or even the end of March.

Last year I started off very well then started to add a few glasses of wine, and a meal out, and a bit of a binge here and there, then I would end up with more bad days than good, and it ended up taking ages to lose 2 stone.

Better methinks to sacrifice a little fanciful food and drink for the next few months than have to keep at this for ages.
I have two occasions scheduled in, A weekend away at the end of Feb, and a 5 day conference with work at the end of March, other than that these months tend to be a little quieter on the social scene so a great idea to get it all out of the way as soon as I possibly can.

Then, when the sun starts to shine in May, I will be able to join in with the odd glass of wine on a sunny afternoon, and go to BBQ's without panicing over what to eat. Or even worse, just not going at all, because I know how carp my willpower is.

1.5 litres down already - not bad for me at all.

Woah !!!!!!! ... 84 days it could all be over lol ... it really doesnt seem to far away when you put it like that! :) thanks Duncan xx

ooo no i wont be having the odd wine etc .. well im saying that now! im only 17 days in lol
I have eaten but only a peice of chicken or white fish so nothing naughty! lol ...

I think if any the only meal ive got penciled in is my OHs birthday but still not sure whats happening yet ...

Mmm looking forward to springtime! .. May is just around the corner! (my birthday month) so i will be joining you to on the odd wine and bbq xx
Hoping to be a thinner me in 2010!
  • Hiya guys

sorry haven't posted for a few days has been manic at work  still at least it makes the time fly, just about coming to the end of day 18 :T Off to the cinema tonight so that will keep me out of mischieve tonight!! Looking forward to WI on Saturday, not expecting major loss this week but anything will be a bonus !

I had a funny spell yesterday morning when i got up though, when i got out of bed i had a dizzy spell, almost like i was drunk (i wish :rotfl: haha) and i had to hold onto the wall and sit down....lasted maybe 30 seconds and then passed, but happened again later on....had an additional pack just to make sure my sugar levels were not too low, and keeping up with water....hopefully was just a 'wobble' !

have a good evening everyone, am off to the cinema to see Daybreakers....lots of vampires :D
  • Nearing the end of day 3 now, feeling very very tired, but no headaches Have been really good on the water intake which helps. Duncs walk was definitely not a brisk one tonight.

Off to bed soon for an early night.

HWGA - well done on day 18, every day is a little closer to goal, hope you had a good time at the pictures. Not sure if the dizzy spells are an issue, I get dizzy spells if I get up too quickly in real life, I am sure it is just a wobble but would mention it to your CDC, when you think of the reduction in calories its probably a common side effect but would say something just to be on the safeside.

    Bye for now

Hi all. Well day 5 for me and 100% so far (very good for me..I'm the queen of self sabotage (?sp)) Love your way of breaking down in days how long its gonna take Duncan, 5 st seems such a long way for me though! Feeling a bit disheartened today as I checked how I'm doing on the scales and not quite what I expected. Never mind will wait for official verdict on Fri.

    Claire xx

Hi guys, I'm nearly back....managed to get through today without my strong painkillers and was planning on coming back to the fold tomorrow, however, I realised that I've booked a table for dinner to celebrate my mum's birthday on Saturday night so perhaps Sunday (oops!).

I think I have to get my head around the fact my back is carp and so when I need the painkillers I shouldn't go off track completely, just eat reasonably sensibly and accept that I am going to have to be on and off track for a while longer, grrr.

Have a message from PAP, she's doing ok and is having a bit of a break from CD but will be back :) (hopefully soon, I miss her wisdom on here!)

Well done Poggy, day 5, yay! Hugs to everyone else, will catch up on the thread properly soon.
