Pap - I am so glad you are going today. I sincerely hope that there is nothing to be concerned about, BUT, you know that until you are checked out that niggling voice of worry won't go away. Loads of good thoughts and hugs.

Isn't the flippin' water cold out of the tap!!!!. Just had chicken and mushroom soup, yummy. I am freezing - heating on max, I am actually for the first time in my life looking forward to the warm weather!

Going to do the hoovering - might warm me up!

ethansmum ~ As far as I am aware you cant recreate CD purely because the contents have to be exact. There are very unsafe ways to undertake a VLCD but this could lead to huge organ failure and ultimately life threatening. The best thing I would suggest is just opt for a callorie controlled diet, most of which you can supervise and manage yourself. If you google you can find out your callories to lose 1/2lbs a week.

As Piratess say slimfast is similar but not as balanced and is certainly as expensive as CD as you have to add a meal  However I find CD not to bad food money wise. For me its a lot because I used to get all my food with my rent but if you say spend £20 on your grocerys, £10 on a takeaway and £10 on snacks/drinks throughout the week its the same as the cost of one weeks food. Plus your water has already been payed for through your household bills. If anything for me its workd out cheaper as I dont spend so much excess on extra food :(

I did callorie counting before CD and managed to lose over 2st and keep it off for over a year. Worth a shot, plus you can still be MSE with food becuae you can buy reduced stuff and fit it in with your plan.

As for 'meal replacement food' on ebay I would be very wary. Thats my personal opinion anyway. You have no idea where it was prepared, whats in it and you will certainly have no guidance/support. But its a personal thing really, and tottaly up to you.
    :A

Thank you very much for your post, its certainly made me think. I've tried WW before but I was always thinking about food. So I'm going to look for a cambridge consultant in our area.

    Thanks

Kittikins ~ Good luck with the LL/SF thing. I am sure you will do well. My starting weight was a secret until about 3 months in  Good for you :j

HEREWEGOAGAIN ~ Keep going you are doing fab. Great to see you are feeling the changes in your clothes already, thats amazing. Just think how long it will be till you drop a dress size :D

hunbun ~ I hovering warmed you up ;) I agree about the water, I tend to fill up about 4/5litre bottles and then let them warm to room temperature. If I drink it from the tap my teeth ache :o

piratess ~ :rotfl: at keeping the choc ones till last, I am the same though

ethansmum ~ Either way pop back and let us know how you get on. CD isnt for everyone so even if you try it for 3/4 weeks then go back to WW you haven't failed :T

stokegal ~ What amazing weightloss :j :j That has to be a record for this thread :D bet you cant wait untill next week now :rotfl:

Ok update ~ Went to doctors, he said I dont have diabetes as he did a test on my urine. However he wasnt happy with my ketone levels (sky high) and the fact my urnie was crystal clear  Which could if not stopped cause my body to becom intoxicated as its storing all the waste (hence the non yellow colour). So he has suggested to me I called my CDC and either stop the diet or stop the VLC bit.

CDC agreed until she can call someone from the CD HQ medical team so I am now on 1200 plan (callories suitable for me to lose up to 2lb a week) Minor setback but if its for my health I dont really care. It means I still have three shakes but I also have three meals. I am hoping that I get the semi all clear from the medical team or I can move down to the 810 (low callorie diet) to complete CD and get to goal. If however I will have to stay on this plan (1200) for my finaces I will have to leave CD and move onto a callorie controlled diet. I cant afford food and the shakes as well.

However we are taking each day as it comes and I will know more tomorrow and at weigh-in :D

So today I here is my run down ~
    9am ~ green tea
    9-11 ~ 1 litre of water
    11am ~ Banana shake
    11-3pm ~ 1litre of water
5pm ~ 1 slice of toast, 1 cup of baked bean, 1 poached egg, 1 apple and 1 banana
    5 - 6pm ~ 1 small glass of sugar free squash
    6pm ~ green tea
    7pm ~ strawberry tetra
    8-11pm ~ 1litre of water

*I missed a shake today, because of the problms, I will get them all in tomorow though*

I am trying to limit my water even if I still feel thirty, we shall see if that helps... So sorry I will be mentioning food from now on. if you dont want me to I wont post about it :D let me know either way :A

Pap, I'm so relieved things are okay, but sad for you that you may have to leave CD before you're ready. I would imagine that your urine would be crystal clear given the amount of water you drink, I know that when I get a-drinking and a-peein' like a racehorse that mine goes very clear too, lol!

As far as I'm concerned do talk about chow, fine by me. I find that I "enjoy" food more when I'm on a VLCD, had a good read of a friend's Jamie Oliver's America cookbook this afternoon, enjoyed it even though I wasn't tempted to break into her kitchen and get cooking ;)

I have, however, been a tad naughty......I just had a meal replacement cereal bar, so that's 2 packs and 1 bar. On LL you are able to start having bars on day 4, which I think is partly so that people don't go "crazy" and give up too soon, and partly to get people into ketosis faster. I go into k pretty quickly so am not too worried about it, but need to make sure I don't start doing other naughty things.

Can't wait for stepping on the scales tomorrow. I'm obsessed by it and as I'm not seeing a counsellor at the moment, just checking in with a friend, will do my regular daily weigh-ins to keep me slightly sane!
  • Whoa Stokegal!!!!! amazing! :T:T

Well done to everybody, now we are getting lots of people - brill!

Pap - hun I'm glad that all is ok. I know it will be a bit of a ****er if you have to come off cd, but you have done so well to now that you know deep down that you can do absolutely anything if you put your mind to it. You have the strength and determination to do this and get to goal, by whatever means necessary.

Wont be on here for a while, going away , back early next week. Be good everyone (note to self!:o).

    See ya xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
