As a newbie and only being a week in i can honestly say with my hand on my heart i do not feel hungry (and believe me im the biggest foody i know) ..
I wont say its easy because it is not! BUT the results definatly keep you on the straight and narrow! ..

  • Hi guys .... Im new here hope you dont mind !!

I need to lose weight and I am thinking of starting the cd diet. I'm going read up a bit more about the cd diet after I have typed this out. However I was just wondering if you lose much weight by doing the cd diet weekly? Also are the milkshakes very filling? I dont really like milkshakes in general but I really need to lose weight!

    Thanks

stokegal ~ Morning, sorry I kinda disappeared last night  Ahhh weigh-in may still be good, it depends on more than just water. You know how seriously I take my water yet sometimes weigh-ins for me is pants... Swings and roundabouts. :rotfl: at wanting cheese on toast, my usual 'bad' food to crave is random stuff like faggots  or once I wanted cheesy beans with gravy Sick_by_Emotikonz.gif

7 day challenge complete for day one :D
    9-11 ~ 2 litres of water
    11am ~ Green tea
    1pm ~ strawberry shake
    1-5 ~ 3 litres of water
    3pm ~ Green tea
    5 ~ strawberry shakes
    5-7 ~ 2 litres of water
    7(ish) ~ choc mint shake
    7-11 ~ approx 2 litres of water & 3* Green tea

ethansmum ~ As far as I am aware you cant recreate CD purely because the contents have to be exact. There are very unsafe ways to undertake a VLCD but this could lead to huge organ failure and ultimately life threatening. The best thing I would suggest is just opt for a callorie controlled diet, most of which you can supervise and manage yourself. If you google you can find out your callories to lose 1/2lbs a week.

As Piratess say slimfast is similar but not as balanced and is certainly as expensive as CD as you have to add a meal  However I find CD not to bad food money wise. For me its a lot because I used to get all my food with my rent but if you say spend £20 on your grocerys, £10 on a takeaway and £10 on snacks/drinks throughout the week its the same as the cost of one weeks food. Plus your water has already been payed for through your household bills. If anything for me its workd out cheaper as I dont spend so much excess on extra food :(

I did callorie counting before CD and managed to lose over 2st and keep it off for over a year. Worth a shot, plus you can still be MSE with food becuae you can buy reduced stuff and fit it in with your plan.

As for 'meal replacement food' on ebay I would be very wary. Thats my personal opinion anyway. You have no idea where it was prepared, whats in it and you will certainly have no guidance/support. But its a personal thing really, and tottaly up to you.

    ~ Cheerleader_by_CookiemagiK.gif 7lbs, woohoo, Cheerleader_by_CookiemagiK.gif

I sympathise with you regarding evening weigh-ins though. However your CD should know/account for that. I guess thats the joy of using someones scales and arranging 'meeting'. Some weeks I weigh at home (my scales are the same as CDC's) and then I drive all the way to my CDC and I have put on a lb  It just works that way, you will even out soon enough :D Keep going, you are doing so well.... Now you have one week gone and are in the pink there is nothing stpping you :rotfl:

shez123456 ~ Welcome to the CD thread :D i hope when you went to research CD you didnt get lost. I looked into this for about 2months when a co-worker was attempting it. I then relooked back into it when some online friends started it. I must have read everything on the internet about it good and bad, as you can guess my opinion was, do it and see :D

Anyways to your questions ~ CD guidlines are 4lbs a week/1 stone a month. thats being 100% on the SS programme (the lowest programme avalible), if however you start going up the plans etc your chance of losses are lower. The milkshakes are/arnt filling. Your first week is the hardest, as some of the newbies can comment on, but once you are through that its fine. I find some of the shakes filling and other not so but that depends on when I personally drink them. Also water plays a part too. Regarding not liking milkshakes is it the milk? Purely because these are all made with water and have a nesquicky taste (to me) so if you can stomach those you should be ok....

Hope all goes well whatever you decided. If you start CD come back and we will support you :D

Well guys weigh-in this morning. I am lucky as I always get her first appointment. Then it's off to Lidl to get some more green tea, I prefer theres (89p for 60) to something like twinings (£1.20 for 40) so its mse really :T

Speak soon, have a great day all :A

Its lovely and busy on here isn't it:D

Like the idea of paps of writin down at the end of the day what you've had. Can't remember times for me for yesterday, so I'll keep a tab for today.

Hope to get to cdc next week for my first weigh in of the year, that will mean a month since last weigh in and stretching out what packs I have, so my 100% days are just doing what I can:o

Piratess, its fantastic to see the numbers come down like this isn't it? Keep going, you are doing absolutely fab:T

One more day 'til weigh in stokie......be good:A

Just had a call from my evening job regarding some training for next week...instead of just the two nights i do 4-8 they've asked us to do 5 nights for computer training....that means 5 days of 12 hour shifts :o i'm not sure if its going to be a help or a hindrance because i know what i'm like when i get tired  perhaps i should look at it from the positve and by the time its finished i'll be on day....20 :o

Hope you guys are all doing OK !! Keep up the good work !!
