snowedunderitall ~ Hi and welldone on your previous weightloss. Good luck with this next stage. Yes your shakes do sound 'off'. Its not the milk in the shakes its all the vitamins. Once they start to break down the horrid taste appears. It happens with normal shakes too, if I made my shake in the blender and then dont clean the excess out after use when I go back the mixture smells awful. sadly there isnt much that can be done
However I wouldnt advise you to eat any of them. The vits & minerals in them help your body while its in ketosis. If the vits & minerals have broken down you wont be taking them in and could become seriously unwell. Please just get a fresh set
Hi Beanie, I weighed in last thursday and lost 1lb. This is ok though as I was off plan all week while on holiday. I have been 100% since the Sunday previous to that so 1lb is good. Next weigh in is Wednesday and fingers crossed I will be in the 12stones :T thanks for asking btw :kisses3:0 -
eeeeee thanks for that
I was attempting to be MSE but definitely wouldn't drink them with that taste anyways!!!!!!! I shan't even try the rest, shall sling all that's out of date and hopefully attempt again with the rest (they all have around a month left.)
What about the powdered ones? I have quite a few left over from my starter lots and quite a few of those are out of the best before... sling them too?0 -

I would throw them too personally because all the vits and minerals may be missing/defective now. You could try them but considering your body is surviving purely on these shakes I wouldntSorry

Good luck with it. Is your next appointment your first back on the wagon? Please let us know how it goes :T0 -
I will do
Yeah, I'll use up what I have in date still (looks to be maybe a weeks worth!)
Might kick start me to be nearer what I was last WI :rotfl:
Incidentally, was a bit over 11st or thereabouts when started, was 9st 4 when fell off wagon...
guessing around 10st ATM :eek:0 -
Hi Everyone
I'm a newbie to this thread but I have become intergued in to CD - 4/5 people at my work have done it and all lost anythin from 3-5 stone. I'm really tempted to try - I've done EVERYTHING else - atkins, slimming world, weight watchers, prescription diet pills, pills off the internet, not eating at all, healthy eating, a personal trainer at the gym but nothing works!!! Tell a lie it does work but I have absolutely no willpower, I normally do it for 5/6 weeks, get bored cause nothing really happens straight away and give up. I'm now catorgised as morbidly obese and have started making excuses not to leave the house because I dont want people to look at me. I really think the the CD could work but my stumbling block is the cost - when I ask people at work they say it costs £35/week - what is this for? Is it Cambridge food or money for the consultant and then you have to buy your shakes / bars / soups on top of this?
Thanks0 -
snowedunderitall ~ good luck when you are on it 100% I am sure your weight will drop of :j
stokegal ~ Hiya, welcome to the CD thread. I am the same as workmates had done it but all hadn't lasted more that 2 weeks so it wasnt looking good for me  I too started at morbidly obese (actually I have been 2stone hevier than my CD start weight) and I do understand how you feel about leaving the house.
As for the cost it is nearly 40% of my monthly income but I would pay more for it, its that good. The money covers all your food for the week + weigh in. Your counceller will charge you say £1.70 for the pack yet it costs them £1.60, so thats how they cover the cost of your weighin/their time. If you are under 5ft 9in you have 3 packs a day. The packet shakes/soups are the cheapest and then premade/porriage and bars (only allowed on week 3+) are the most expensive. I generally pay about £38 (21 items) a week unless I need the fibre suplement that week which is an extra £6.
I started cambridge the begining of May so I have offically been on it 6months. i havent been 100% all that time though. I have had one week off and 3 divations. However if i was in the position I was and someone told me about this diet I would snap thier hands off. It is expensive i think I have spent £1,300 so far, not including new clothes, but it is so worth it :T
Let us know what you decide and we will support you though your journey. I still have 3 stone to go so will be here for a few morth months yet :T0 -
Thanks PAP
My first meeting 'back' as such is November 12th. I have exactly the right amount of (in date!) packs to last me up to them, so am trying to be good and stick to it!! Today went well.. aside from a slice of toast and some spaghetti hoops! (leftovers from kids dinners.... gah when will I learn I'm not a human dustbin!!!!). On the other hand, the rest of the day was packs + 3l water. Not too bad.
stokegal - heyAs PAP has said, it's quite costly. Having said that, if I counted all the c*** I usually buy, ie sweets, takeaway, snacks and drinks if at work or uni, etc etc, to be honest I don't know if just junk alone would come in close to the figure, not including the weekly shop!!
It changes the way you look at what you eat, which for me is entirely necessary. Granted I've slipped and put a bit on, but nothing like what I've done when falling off the wagon from other diets. And this counsellor is the first and only one I've gone back to willingly after each time I've slipped happy to get straight back on it... with WW/SW/LL I always felt judged and too ashamed and uncertain if I'd stick to it again.0 -
Thnks postingalwaysposting and snowedunderitall - I had a long chat with OH tonight and said I was considering it and my concern was with the cost of it - he was an absolute sweetheart and dsaid tht I wanted to do it, he would support me and give me the extra money to help but as far as he was concerned he loves me the way I am (ahhh!!) Having said that, we both agreed that I'd start it after christmas, I'm not ready to start yet - I only discovered batch cooking couple of months go so we need to get through that first and with there being 7 weeks till christmas it'd cost about £250 and tbh we've just had our first LO (he's now 9 months old) and I'd begrudge spending tht money on me when it could go towards his first christmas presents. Anyway I hope that doesn't sound like an excuse - I'm definately joining straight after christmas as we hve booked a holiday for April next year and I'd love to actually have pictures with me in them this time. I'll lurking to see how everyone gets on and looking for hints and tips. Thanks0
