Hi everyone!!, hope you are all doing fine - and surviving all the rain!
Been for my weigh-in tonight and lost another 4lbs, so I'm really happy that I am a full stone lighter than I was 2 weeks ago.
I just sat and typed a big message then my computer crashed before I could post it, dont you just hate that??!?!?
Piratess & Hunbun - thanks for your support! It does make it that bit easier when you have positive people helping along the way. Piratess - are you trying to cut back on the carbs before you start CD, or will you do that in Jan after all the festivities have passed?
Hostie - I take on board what you are saying (I sound like a contestant on the X factor!!) and am sorry that you and your friend have had a bad experience with CD. However, my sister did CD 4 years ago, she lost 4 stones, and has since then, maintained her weight. So there are two sides to every story.
I'm sure CD wouldnt be going 25 years on if it didnt work or was unsafe.
As for setting my three year old a bad example... I dont understand how him seeing me eat a meal of chicken or fish with brocolli and cauliflower would be so bad?. Plus, because he is now seeing me drinking more water, then he is doing so aswell, better than him seeing me drinking the bottles of cola (that I had been having prior to CD) and wanting that.
I have tried WW, Scottish Slimmers and Atkins previously, all of these didnt work for me, CD does. Everyone is different in what works for them.
Speak to you all soon,

Morning Gillian
:T well done on your loss this week thats brill :j
How are you finding it now youve got into the routine of it ? How are you finding the meals your having? Do you still enjoy them ? and just being nosey but which shakes are you finding your enjoying the most?
Im going to start cutting my carbs on the few days leading upto NYE .. so wll cut right back on potatos, pasta bread ..(love bread:rolleyes:) ... and then go see my CDC right after NYD ..
Hope everyone else is getting on well ! ... xxHoping to be a thinner me in 2010!0 -
Hi Piratess -
Yes I can honestly say I am really enjoying the diet now I am 'in the zone'. I am feeling so much better, no bloatedness, no heartburn, and now that I'm in ketosis, I feel I have so much more energy. Yesterday, DS and I, RAN from my mums house back to ours. Now in fairness it isnt that far, but I really dont think I could have done that 2 weeks ago. Maybe its pshycological I'm not sure!!!!
I think you really have to give each shake, soup and bar a try just to see what you like. I really like the vegetable soup, the spicy tomato soup tasts nice, but smells awful, so you kinda have to hold your nose when drinking it !!!! The strawberry and banana shakes are nice. I also like the cranberry bars... but my fave is the chocolate shake ... esp. on a cold night, make it with hot water and you have a lovely frothy hot choccy. The porridge, I couldnt take on its own, however my CDC advised to try a teaspoon of the banana shake in it, and its so nice.
I like the orange drink flavouring, there are others you can get but I havent tried them. You can also get a powder called mix-a-mousse, its nice with the butterscotch shake, you almost get an angel delight desert with it!
As I say, I am doing SS+ so also have to advantage of a 200kcal meal each night. This diet makes you appreciate the food you have.
Last time i did it, I did just sole source the first two weeks, and adding the meal this time hasnt made any difference as my weight losses have been identical.
Will be good to have you on board, I'm sure once you start seeing the weight losses that will give you any inspiration that you need, along with all the helpful people on here.
Do you have much weight to lose?? I have (ideally) 7, well 6 now, stones to lose.

This thread has gone so quiet, Im hoping its down to xmas fast approaching us! .. There was a lovely Buzz on here a few weeks ago! ... Maybe everyones xmas shopping lol ..
As regard to the shakes, Im hoping i like them as i hate any kind of milkshake apart from McyDs hehe ..
anyway i like strawbs and choccy so am hoping they will be ok! ..
Ideally i have 5 stone to lose, But am going to start with 4 and break it into 1stone goals, and treat myself after each stone, and when i get to 4 stone ill be having a manicure and pedicure as my treat(already worked it out) lol Not that um eager or anything lol ....
Im currently 14.10 (well when i last weight 3 weeks ago) Im to scared to weigh now! ..
Have a lovely day, and hope to catch up later xxHoping to be a thinner me in 2010!0 -
This thread is really quiet at the mo.. everyone must be too busy with the festive period!!
Well for those of you who are still checking in, I had my weigh in on Tuesday night and had lost 2lbs this week. 16lbs in three weeks!!
Not been an easy week, my DS has had terrible cold and sore throat, so I was up with him ALL night for 2 nights in a row. I HAD to eat, my body was telling me to, think with me having no sleep it needed extra energy otherways!! Then i picked up his cold, and felt to soo miserable. Yuk! So a 2lb loss, I was really chuffed with.
It wont be good this week I dont think, I am still feeling unwell and have been drinking loads of fresh orange juice, I always do when I am ill. Also had a strong curry last night. mmmm now I didnt see that mentioned in the 'allowed' column in the cambridge book!!!!!!!!!!!
As soon as I'm over this though I will be straight back on CD wagon 100% and in fairness my counsellor did say you shouldnt follow the prgramme if ill. Dont quite think she meant curryyyy tho!!!
Hope everyone else good and getting organised for crimbo... three weeks on Friday?? how did that happen!!!!!!

Ya know i check this thread every day! in the hope that some will come and check in! It used to be a buzzing thread on here, Lets hope like you say it is because of the festive period! ..
I agree that if you are ill you need to listen to your body! .. but ~cough~ kinda agree that maybe the curry wouldnt have been in the CD food list hehe ...
Just get yourself well again and jump back on thre wagon! .. 4 weeks until im on it with you! .... im feeling a little apprehensive but excited to.
Well done on the 2lb! .. i think thats great all things considered
Have a lovely dayxx

I am back :j
So sorry to all of you, new and old, especially you Piratess who have been waiting/hoping for posts. So where have I been since the end of November? Well to be honest I have slipped, but slipped a lot. I was still plodding on CD but I wasnt being 100% and I was messing around far to much.... It all came to a head Friday and I just had a huge binge until last night. Its what the old Pap did but I thought after months on this diet I had cracked these thoughts/feelings. Alas this isnt the case but the binge was one of the smallest I have ever had, so thats one positive. So because of all the negative energy I had and the fact I felt like I was being a fraud posting here I havent been back.
But today is day one for me again. I had weighin today and that binge cost me 5lbs. Ok in relation to the amount I have lost its not all too much however to me its a huge step back. So after a bit of soal searching I need to go all the way back to day one, go back to being excited and enthusiastic about this up and coming journey. Its one that is so inspiring that I must complete it. For two hours I have re-read all my posts I wrote on my first steps into this diet and I want to be posting the same thing now, even if I am 7months into the diet.
So the aim for this week is to stay 100% no cheats, no excuses, 100%. In order to keep me on track I will be posting my drivel on here again. I know only a handfull of people post/read here so unlike last time I may saturate this thread. I will appologise for that but if I were to do this in a blog I know I wont stay accountable as I know no-one will be readingOn here everyone reads!
So the race is on to lose at least the 5lb I put on. One huge incentive is I have to have a new card next week (was supposed to be this week) as I have filled this one and I want a big ish loss on this new card as my first imput. I will get there :T
Today has been fab, mainly because I have been home and can monitor my water and 'meals'. The hardest part will be when I am at work as then it will be difficult to get my water in. I am going to aim for 1litre before lunch and then go from there. I am also debating what to do for christmas now, I was going to have christmas and the 31st off the diet but I think I will just have the 31st off. It will be hard but christmas is one day that I can have next year... I may also not have the 31st off either, depends how I feel
Thanks all for reading my ramballings and I hope I can be around more and support all of you on your journeys

Beanie ~
As always my super-duper friend...
Piratess ~ :rotfl: Oh yes I cant wait untill you get on the wagon. The first days as a newbie is such fun, you must post! Ohh whens your first meeting? Regarding OH does he know you have been looking into this diet? Does he know you are unhappy with your weight? if yes to any of those it would be easier to speak to him about it. If however its totally out of the blue it may be hard. Maybe you need to speak to him over te new year period, maybe over a glass of wine. Surely if he cares for you that much he wont discourage you and will support you in your journey? Let us know how it goes....
So four days have passed and I have been 100% :j Hit ketosis Friday morning so well on the way. I did have a sneeky weigh-in this morning and its looking good. I even made fudge and peppermint creams this morning and didn't touch a tiny bit! I think I have decided I will stay on track for christmas but have my birthday off I just hope that staying on track for these two weeks will help me lose some extra pounds before that day.
Heres to the next few days and weigh-in :beer:0
