Hello folks, I am still here although have been a rubbish CD friend to you all recently. I fell off the wagon mid December and then went potty over Christmas. Haven't had a 'proper' weigh in yet, thats in the next day or so, but think I am about half a stone 'ish up. I'm still 2 stone 'ish lighter than when I started though:p

I am so proud of you Pap, I have been reading everybodys posts whilst stuffing my face, looking forward to congratulating you all once you are rolling:rotfl:.

I am back on the CD road now. Its all in the head isn't it? I have really learnt just how much I use food when I am under stress. Its been a bit tough here over the last month and I now need to address my reliance on food to help me through moments of stress and panic.

I am going to try to SS for a week, I 'normally' do SS plus, but I feel that I need to almost 'cold turkey' (ha, no pun intended!) and just know that there is no food choice to make. Have had my first 'shake' of the year and amazingly it hasn't made me heave! Maybe the taste buds are listening to my head!

On the mixer front, I find that a big blender and a few ice cubes definately make the shakes the most palatable. I hate milk though, so I just have to get them down, I can't say I have found anything shake wise 'lovely'! Its worth while having a couple of tetra packs in the fridge as emergency meals. They are not as bad as you would think. Because they are smaller in quantity (you must drink water with them) its easier to get them down than a pint of shake.

I suppose I have been 'naughty' for a good 3 weeks now, and the difference in my skin and energy levels is amazing. I felt good and looked much better whilst on the CD. So that is another positive thing to look forward to.

Sorry for going on and on folks, but thanks for listening and good luck to all ........ xxxxx

They aren't that bad piratess. However they are nothing like mcdonalds milkshakes - although I do know a way to make them similer. They are more like nesquik made with water not milk. The packet says min of 227ml, I use about 400ml maybe more. You have to drink the ones you make within 15mins, however the pre mades you can drink as slow as you like.

I am on my iPod just now but when I am back on my pc I will type some 'recipies'. They are still shakes but made in interesting ways.

Please don't worry you will be fine :)

Oh blimey Piratess, please don't worry, thats the last thing I would want you to do..........the shakes are not wonderful, however they're not that bad:p. The quantity though does need to be fairly significant to get enough water down. I don't like Maccie d shakes though, so I really am not the best person to say what they do or don't taste like. However, I like the soups which I know a lot of people really hate, so its all personal taste, literally.

You will be absolutely fine, there will be some you like and some you won't, but you have made the decision to join the CD clan and thats the hardest one.

When I first started, my biggest worry was failing (which is one of the reasons why psychologically I have found it hard to get my butt back in gear..), but because this is such a 'way of life' diet, and you honestly really do feel so well on it, it is a completely different thing.

Please, please don't worry. There are some fantastic posts on here, keep reading through if you start to panic......BUT please don't be put off before you start, it works.....yes its hard, but definately worth while.

(ps, I have only told 2 or 3 very close people about what I am doing. Its possible to keep it under wraps fairly easily, even going out for meals is do-able.....just!)

    Good Luck:D

pps straws are DEFINATELY the way to go!!!!!

  • Welcome jackomdj to the thread. It would be nice to have a CDC lurking/posting. Good luck with your cambridge plan, sounds like we are all going to finish the journey in 2010

Hunbun, welcome back. Dont worry I had a few days off at christmas so today I had a sneaky weigh in and weigh the same as before chirstmas... So nothing lost. Well done for jumping back on the wagon. You are so right its defiantly in the mind. I restarted on the 1st and my determination has never been so strong. I think now because I am coming up to being a year on the diet I want to finish before I hit the year. I have given myself 90 days to get to goal

:j Way to go piratess :j

You have quite a selection there. I would just chosse whichever you like the sound off. My faves are stawberry and chocmint (this reminds me of areos ) but again its a personal thing. If you want pee sticks pm me and I will send you a few. They arnt important but its nice to know once you are in ketosis. However if you follow the plan 100% you cant not be in ketosis...

Post away it would me lovely to see how you are getting on :j

Whit woo:T:T:T way to go Piratess, you've done it, well done, thats the hardest bit over now. (ok so I know that we've got to still CD, but facing the scales is not easy!!)

My total to lose should be 5 stones, although I keep setting myself little goals - think I'm a bit chicken to just have my CDC write down the 5 stone target thing!!

Originally I wanted to lose 2 stones. Now its 4:p....lets wait and see if I actually go the whole hog!

So, are you sole sourcing or adding a meal? Its an exciting start to a journey.

One of my favourite sayings is ' The longest journey starts with a single step '......all of us who have started CD have taken that first step - we just need to keep going:eek:......
90 days Pap...WOW:T:T . How far are you off target now? You must be pretty close.

Glad you are enjoying yoru first meal piratess. I must say I cant have the soups but thats just me I think, I live on the shakes. The only thing I would say is watch out regarding the water as if the water is too hot it will kill all the vits and minerals.

I hope you are going to be ok getting the water in. The best advice I had was to use a sports top bottle. It does work, I generally manage around 4litres a day depending on how many hot drinks I have. Remember black tea (not fruit teas) and coffee is allowed on this diet. Just use tablet callorie free sweetners and no milk :D

If you want some pee stick send me a PM with your address etc and I will send them tomorrow. Its best to test on day 3 but I didnt show untill day 4. Oh and always test in the morning when you wee is not diluted from the water  Out of interest did you buy any fibre89 (fibre supplement)? I started with it but gave it up a few months ago. I now dont use anything and am fine, although I will use psyllium husks every now and again....

Sorry about all the info :o

Hunbun, isnt it funny I have always put my ultimate goal (bmi 25) on my card. however my CDC knows my first goal I want to acheive is the 100lbs lost :jHow many stones do you have to complete till you are bmi 25? I started over 7stones+ overweight so I knew it would take me forever :rotfl:

As you say one step at a time. I go through stages of wanting food and not wanting food. I guess once you have done it this long you deal with cravings/feelings very differently. When I first started out I would fill my cravings by doing things ~ baths, reading, online games, walking just to get rid of that craving. It worked :T I guess you did the same :D

With regards to my weight I have 33lbs to go or 2stone 4lbs in our money  So still a fair way really. Its easily done on CD though. then its onto re-feed and forever callorie counting. I would however love to become a CDC but it depends if my CDC will sponsor me  We shall see :D
