    Hey hunbun,
Just finished leek and pot soup .. it was OK little salty on the toungue and maybe a bit to thick so will half next time! ..just onto another drop of water thats a pint and half so far today ...not enough i dont think

I am SSing for a couple of weeks .. and then may do SS+ to have a meal with the fam in an evening :)

Piratess, I dont know if your CDC said but you can offcially split the meals. So if you thought you may feel hungry at night you could have 1/2 a shake in the morning and then 1/2 at night. It makes no difference as long as you have a full three packs within the day :D

Water is not enough no :( However you will get there. I started at 2.5litres a day and that was pushing it. The most I have drunk now in one day is 8litres  Your body wont be ready to have as much as I drink but you will get used to it. The most important thing is that you don't drink litres and litres in one go. That can cause an imbalance within your body and could be fatal. So small sips/glasses throughout the day is the way to go.

I generally have a pint when I wake up then a litre before my first shake at about 9am/10am. I then have another litre or two between then and my dinner shake at 1-3pm. I can then have anything from 2litres to 4litres before bed inc my shake. Then there is maybe 4/5 cups of tea and coffee on top of that. However I am seasoned at this and my body can cope, I now dont go to the loo as often as when started and I actually feel thirsty mush quciker now. This is why I drink more as I know my body needs more.

Oh and btw you may have heard the phrase 'the more you drink, the more you shrink'. There is no scientific background to this but because you lose lots of water in your first week everyone believes this to be the case. Its not its a myth so dont overdo the water if you have already done your 2.5litres and are not thirsty...

    Stay safe :A

Ohhh we are cross posting :rotfl: you will come to love black tea. I always had very strong tea anyways. My tea only had to 'see' the milk thats as little as I had in it so it wasnt that bad. I now prefer it without milk. I am however enjoying coffee too now which is a surprise. Remember though you can have any leaf tea, so try green leaf (this is very light and refreshing) I prefer lidls to expensive brands :o Also try peppermint and assam is a nice earthy tea :D

No I think fibre89 is expensive its basically the fibre supplements you can buy at the chemists repackaged. I use nothing now but the water but be prepared your waste wiull look very strange :o If you need anything use psyllium husks, either in capsule form from hollend and barretts or fresh form mixed into your shakes. The fresh form also make the soups/shakes thicker if that can help. I have never had a problem but if need be you may need to use a laxative as you can become ill quickly. I think senokot is ok on this diet but check with your CDC or the ingrediants because it can knock you out of ketosis.

I can indeed but to be honest anything under 16stone I had never been before so each week is a new celebration/target. So even though its been hard and a long journey its been rewarding too. Wait untill you start sheding the pounds and then having to buy new clothes... its phenominal :j

Keep posting here, I will pop in each day and help/support you. I have too much experience in this diet to pu it to waste

    Thanks Beanie :grinheart

You will get there pirtess, yes warm/hot water can be classed as your intake too. As long as its water :D Have you tried sparkling water? Thats fine on CD too and in week three you could buy water flovours which may help (thats if you CDC sells them). I hope you havent got shares in diet coke  Any fizzy drinks for me are a no go, I had a glass of coke at christmas and was violently sick :o My stomach cant handle them anymore.

Ohhh I cross stitch, and I also quill to keep my fingers busy. I also have a ipod touch so I am addicted to some games on that. I think just getting out of the nibbling while on the pc/watching tv are the hardest. See I always have water avalible now so if I get the urge I have water :rotfl:

ketosis is the miricle that performs in your body that stops huger paings. Basically when a normal person eats your body refills your glcogen stores (used for immediate enery like running etc), your carb stores and then converts most of whats left to fat. Then when your body does any work its burning your carbs up, once those are gone it will turn to your glycogen stores. Most people eat before these glycogen stores get uesd and mostly when you still have carbs left too. This increases the amount of fat stored and thus the energy in vs enegery out is flawed and we put on weight.

When on CD in these first 4 days you will be getting the bare min (you do throughout this diet) so you body is now slowly burning all its carbs and glycogen stores up. When you hit day 3/4 you body has nothing left so then it turns to your fat. You then start burning fat for energy and the meal packs you are eating are just keeping all your vits and mins topped up. Beacuse your body is being forced to constaintly burn fat it never feels hungry. So instead of your brain saying ummm eat I am running low on carbs/gycogen, it says hey I am full because I am burning fat :rotfl:

Thats why you never feel hungery on a VLCD. the problem is when you expain this to people they think your body will then start using muscle and organs to live. This is not the case because you are not in a deep enough ketosis to make this happen. Plus you are monitored each week and you would know if this was hapening.

The pee sticks are an indication that you are burning fat as glycogen can be seen in your pee. Glycogen (ie sugar) is a bi product from your liver after burning the fat. Now the reason you need so much water is to clense your liver and kidneys as you are excreting all this waste and if you didnt drink the water you can go into toxic shock :o

I hope my explanition is clear, if not look here on wiki for more info. Dont worry I researched for nearly 2 months and then spoke to someone on thr diet at the time so I know all the ins and outs of what CD or more importatly a VLCD can do :D

Phew, you deserve a ly down if you got through that :rotfl:
