I'm bored with real food already - this is day 5 of not being on the diet and I can't wait for my disk to slip itself back in wherever its supposed to be, and for me to stop taking the mind-bending painkillers, lol, so that I can carry on and get to where I want/need to be! Unfortunately if I don't eat with the painkillers, I feel horribly sick for 4 hours, LL packs aren't good enough :(

The osteopath said it's a good job this has happened now rather than last year when I was 8 stone heavier as the recovery will hopefully (keep your fingers crossed) be much better.
  • Thanks for your advice PAP. I'm a bit apprehensive about how im going to cope when doing the kids dinner as i seem to automatically snuffle their leftovers but I DONT WANNA BE A DUSTBIN ANY MORE!;)
The crushed ice sounds like a brilliant idea - are all the meal replacements sweet? Can you get soups? I am a bit of a chocoholic but all sweet would drive even me a bit looney!
Hunbun, I'm not going to tell anyone either (apart from OH) until i at least start getting some good results without any serious side effects. I'm going to WI once a week I think but its so different to other diets already. WIth SW and WW i'd get weighed, gorge myself on food for the rest of the day because it didnt coulnt as i'd already been weighed right? Hmmmm, Any wonder im far too well insulated?
Kittiins- i hope your back slips back into place soon and OMG 8 stone?????? Wowzers thats amazing!
Righty then, onwards and upwards! I WILL be a healthy skinny minnie! :o
I'll let you know how i get on tonight!

  • Hiya
Well, ive just got back from my 1st session. Am all weighed, measured and raring to go with my box of ever so appealling looking shakes and soups! :o
Im 15st 11.6 with a BMI of 35.66. Have set my 1st target at 2 stone before Xmas with 11 stone being my ultimate goal.
Feeling quite positive actually! yay! Slim Nat is on her way!

  • Hunbun ~ Ahh I didnt realise you hadnt told many. I didnt in my first 8 weeks and it certainly helped me. As you say each day is a day closer to your goal, its baby steps on this diet. Once you get through a day you then can think about the next etc etc. Yes I get cravings all the time, usually strange thing I have either never eaten or wouldnt crave usually. My most memorable was kidney beans  I have never in my life eaten any 'bean' in its natural form, not even a food that to my knowledge contains 'beans' rather strange...

Kitti ~ If it wasnt for the pain killers then you would still be on LL? I cant suggest anything I am afriad but if need be have something simmaler to tje packs so soup/chewy bars. I just hope you get well soon :A

LCS ~ Sorry I didnt reply earler. Yes as you would have now found out there are porriage/soups. Neither that I use beacuse I am not a fan, I survive on shakes, just strawberry and the pre made strawberry :rotfl: I dont know if your CDC metioned this but in week 3 you can also buy bars and mix a mosse which turns your shake into a angel delight type thing.

I had the same feeling about the box too but I must say some are actually nicer than they seem. The best thing to do is try everything then decided on a few to have. I had a handfull but now its been reduced to just two. Coping with meals you will get used to, the way I did/do it (I dont have kids but I work in a cafe with free food) is to class their food as thiers so you would be effectively stealing even if they left it. It worked for me as I classed any free food my work mates. I havent eaten anything from work since I starated way back in May.

As for 'cheating' after weigh in I never have on any diets but I know some who have done it on CD. The trick is to have something low in carbs so you stay in ketosis. So think chicken/white fish (not battered) or anything in the SS+/810 steps. Try not to though as if you have too much you may kick yourself out.

Good luck with it all and let us know how you are getting on in the week :T
  • This is outrageous! Im starving more than i would be if i wasnt on a diet! Not a good day to have the kids at home poorly - if i was at work i wouldnt normally have eaten anything by now and i's be fine! Typical!:rotfl:
I had the apple and cinnamon porridge this morning and the rest are so going to be swapped in next week. Yucky! I think its a texture thing! Quite looking forward to my chilli soup at lunch and my shake at tea time. Im also a pampered chef consultant and am doing a party tonight so thats going to be hard going although maybe acually handling the food will make me feel better!
But really, other than being hungry im ok so far and drinking lots of water!
A quick q, my CDC said you can get really bad breath when in ketosis. What do you ladies normally do about it? Can you have mints?
Hope you're all well and happy!

  • Hey guys
am back after being AWOL with the flu :o starting to feel better again so back on track for me now :A

Just wondering, i've got 7 weeks until a wedding and am starting to think about looking for outfits.....whats the average/rough guestimate that i could potentially loose in 7 weeks....am hoping for 2 stone but not sure if thats possible
  • LCS ~ Opps sounds like you arnt having a good first day. I hope it improves. I didnt like any of the porriage so I feel for you I hope the soup and shake are better :T Regarding the ketosis breath it depends how you show the symptoms. I dont get bad breath I get furry teeth (eww) and a pink stick, thats it. But no you cant have mints I am affraid, the only way around it is brushing your teeth often. Even with my teeth I can brush about 5/6 times a day because it gets so bad, however I have had to change my toothpaste to a mild/senstitve one as I was damaging my gums. Good luck with the remainder of the day :j

~ I wonder where you had got too. Nice to se you are better now and back on the old wagon. With regards to amount lost in 7 weeks it depends on the person. However CD HQ say the 'average' woman can lose up to 1 stone (24lbs) a month so technically you could lose around 18~22lbs so nearly 2 stone. That is of course if you are doing it 100% to the letter. They also say a dress size per 18/19lbs so you could also lose a size (either ontop/bottom/both) in that time frame. When would be the last possible time you could go shopping/final purchases?
  • HI PAP
Well probably the end of November at the latest, wedding is 12th December, although i've been looking online the last couple of days - doesn't seem to be too much around at the mo though ! I've had a looksie on Simplybe website and they have a lovely two tone dress, pink at the bottom, black at the top, that I think would be quite flattering as it doesn't sit on the hips/stomach...i've decided to order it in two sizes in the hope that i'll be fitting in the smaller one when the time comes:o heres hoping....i have 28 days to return them, so that would take me to the end of November ! I'm gonna go for it for the next 7 weeks as much as poss, although i do have a meal for my mums birthday so am going for just chicken and veg....really gonna try as hard as possible ! dont know whats wrong with me, the first time i sailed through it without so much as a slice of lemon in my drink (did LighterLife originally)....:T

well i started the diet this morning, am supping my first shake as i type this...chocolate mint yum!! I was a little shocked that the CDC's scales were so out compared to mine and the gp's...but either way i have a lot to lose so i dont think half a stone really matters at this point. I just hope i go into ketosis soon lol...I am really excited still! :)
