Thanks for the tip about the 70% chocolate....might have to give it if the temptation occurs again, am hoping it won't !!

heres to another sainthood day on Cambridge !
  • honeybust ~ Pop back all the time someone is around usually all day :j

HEREWEGOAGAIN ~ :j @ day eight. Good luck for tomorow I am sure it will be fine but I will be thinking of you. The only thing that you can have that is sweet and is 'allowed' on CD is sweet water/tea/coffee in that sense I mean get tablet callorie free sweetners and either have then in hot water/beverage. I will have three in a large mug and they take away the cravings. As long as they are calorie free you are fine :D

As a sideline though if you cant have/dont want aspartame then dont have these to excess as they are ladened with the stuff

    Hi Guys,

You summed it all up really well honeybust! I have a few soups that are ok, hate all the shakes ......I have found that the bars taste too nice and are to high in carbs for me, I think that its these that dont help my cravings...who knows, not very scientific but thats how it feels for me:confused:.

The forum is brill for support - especially the willpower of iron of Pap....:T.
I have been keeping a daily diary as well, just a few lines about how I feel, what I have done differently etc. Its surprising how writing things down can make it far more 'real'. There is no escaping the fact that you have had chocolate for example (:D) if it is in black and white!!

I know I am woffling now, but for so many of us, the issue of weight problems is immense. My gp is very supportive of cd. She said that if the medical profession knew all the answers to not being overweight then there would be no problems.......however we are all different and its finding the thing that works for you that is the difficulty. Cd works. That is proven, however it is not a magic cure, we still need to find lots and lots of will power and dedication and that is where we can all help each other.:j

Ok, end of diatribe!!!!!! Just realised how long this was - oops, sorry!! I just feel so passionately about the fact that we are generally given a bit of short shrift about being overweight by 'the public'. We are all on here for the same reason, so thank you to you all for being supportive. xxxxx:o

    Hi everyone.
I lost loads of weight on the Cambridge two years ago and am now back on it trying to lose the bit I've put on. I've just got under a stone to lose. I'd thought I'd add my tips on how to keep the diet "interesting":p

I, like others use the blender to make MacDonald's milkshakes using ice cubes, it is lovely but as others have said you tend to feel the cold on this diet and at this time of year not so ideal!

I grate a little nutmeg on my porridge in the morning for a change.

Regarding the soups I think i would go mad if I had to have them everyday. A tip I was given was to boil up some cauliflower or Broccoli ( I use frozen) Around 4 florets and then I blend them with the boiled water so the soup is lovely and thick and (nearly) tastes homemade! I also add extra fresh herbs, mint, parsley, coriander and basil. I also add extra chili to the chili soup or alittle curry power.

If I'm feeling very hungry thru a great tip was eat a slice of ham or chicken. I prefer the smoked Brunswick ham from Sainsburys. This has been a life saver on occasions as I'm sure I'd have had a kitkat if I hadn't tried this first.

None of the above have impacted on my weight loss and I honestly don't think I could stick to it a second time without the little tweaks.
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

    Hi there notakid

Do you add the veggie soup to the soup cd or just have it on its own? Its getting all these little tips that hopefully will keep us on the straight and narrow, so thanks:beer:

    Hi:D
I use the boiled cauliflower / broccoli and water and blend it in the soups. I have tried it in the Chili/Veg and leek favours and I think it improves them as they taste lovely and thick, a little more indulgent. Its okay in the tomato but I find it tastes a little powered. I don't know about the mushroom as thats a poison not a foodstuff!;)

I forget to put the sachet in once and the mix didn't look too nice! It def needs the sachet!

Hello from the LL cuckoo in the nest. I had to work in London today and forgot to take my "lunch" with me so ended up buying some fat-free cottage cheese....just hoping it won't have taken me out of ketosis as my group is tomorrow. As I don't eat meat and the only fish I could find in the supermarket up there was honey-roasted salmon which had quite high carbs, it seemed like the healthiest option.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!
  • hey guys
so had my first weigh-in last night....tad disappointed, only 4lb for me this week :-( i know i had a slight blip at the weekend with a few chocolates, but was still expecting around 6-7lb...anyways gonna plod on for another week and hopefully it will even itself out ! going to go and see my Counsellor Saturday for a mid week weigh-in to keep me on track, hopefully will be showing a loss !

just out of interest, i've recently changed counsellors, and i used to weigh in the mornings but have swapped to the evenings. I never used to have any packs or much water etc before a weigh-in, if you weigh in the evenings when do you tend to stop drinking water?
  • Morning all!

    Just thought I'd pop in....<{;0)

I'm still doing the CD. Just started to have bars this week....which are going down very nicely!

    Hope everyone is well?
    !!73lb lost!!
