I'm feeling hungry today.....gluging the water still though. I think it may be because I was up early and had my shake at early doors.
Making myself wait a while before my next. xoxox!!73lb lost!!

Hi all!
I started the cambridge diet on tuesday. I have 3 stones to lose.
I don't like the soups, so I will be sticking to just porridge and shakes.
Weighed myself today and I've already lost 5lbs. I'm really happy.
How do you know when your body is in ketosis0 -
Morning everybody!
Everytime i come on here there are new people, it's brill! So 3.5 lbs off for me yesterday. Not too bad! Think my fresh start was just was i needed, a new perspective. Feeling great and have gone down 2 sizes since April! Yeee hah!!! :j
I haven't seen my ex since january (when i was 16.5 stone) we're finally on good terms and since all my stuff is still at his house he's asked to meet up next week. Soooo excited for him to see me looking all svelte(ish)! Think he's missing me a bit. Could be interesting....Still to go: 24lbs:think:0 -

Thanks chickadee! Not really an interesting story behind the break-up, just really enjoying bumping into people i haven't seen in a few months at the moment. You scrutinise yourself in the mirror every day on this diet and i sometimes despair i'm not changing at all, then people see you and they notice straight away. It's the BEST feeling! :j x xStill to go: 24lbs:think:0 -
Oh and i forgot to mention i cheated last night. I had a slimming world curry with my friend and i had a lot to drink. A lot. Ah well, i forgive me. Back on the wagon today!Still to go: 24lbs:think:0

Lolol...well they do say we have to forgive ourselves. That's the important part lol!
I was wondering.....I've read mixed things.....BUT...In a couple of weeks, we're having a bit of a 'do' for my Mum. Big birthday coming up!
Anyway, I think I would like to eat that day..especially as we're hosting it at ours(bbq). Alcohol...there's gonna be a fair bit of it but at the moment I'm not too bothered about about drinking it myself. I seem to be ill after just the smallest amount these days. Thinks it's my meds. I'm usually ok with Bailey's though!
Anyway.....Do I need to 'knock' myself out of ketosis in order to eat/drink normally? Or could I just go ahead, don't go mad and straight back on plan the next day. Or...stay as I am now and stick to shakes. I doubt I could do that though.....or want to really. I don't want to be 'on a diet' again for such a special day....
I know ideally I should stay as I am <{;0(
Any thoughts, experiences would be very useful please <{;0)xoxox
Ooo meant to add that I will speak with my CDC next week. Just wanted some personal opinions/experiences. Ta.!!73lb lost!!

Bounce well done on all your lovely comments, and you make sure you dress up super glam and sexy. Let us know how you get on.
Cathy, I'm not very good at dealing with "do's" and tend to either a) avoid them completely, or b) sod it and go for broke.
Best advice though is.....
Don't drink whilst in ketosis, it will make you very ill.
If you want to join in, which if you are going to stick to this long term you should "plan" for dos and join in.
Foodwise stick to proteins, and green salad / veg if you want to hover on the ketosis line. If you want a drink, before you have a drink try and have something healthyish to eat, Baileys is probably one of the worst things you can have, (I'm a Baileys and Irish girl!) white spirits and slimline mixers are probably the best to go with dietwise, they aren't CD but will do the least damage. Stay clear of the lager and cider, wine isn't as bad as the beer, but not as good as the white spirits.
The other thing to consider is alcohol really just makes you lose the plot, your willpower goes completely.
Finally though my best bit of advice - we are all very human, and occaisionally just need a break. Yes you will have days that you will just be sick of missing out and want to eat, and some of those days you'll give in. BUT, that is OK! Yes it will slow down your progress, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is to start again. Don't give up, keep trying, every tomorrow is a new start.
I am useless, really really am, but Ive lost 2 st, in 4mths, (i could have lost 4), but I also could have given up and put everything back on. Thanks to everyone on here, I do get myself back on track and keep trying, yes I'm making slower progress, but its still progress.
If you decide to stick to the plan, you will be so proud of yourself, if you don't, then its not the end of the world, get back on track the next day.
What I have found, is once you have been in ketosis, its quicker to get back into it, also if you have a bit of a bingy week or two, I had 2 weeks off, it only took me about 3 days to get back to where I was before.
God that was a load of waffle, sorry!0 -
Well, Good Morning Everyone....
I've started my CD today, had a strawb shake for breakfast (was quite nice actually) and really didn't help myself over the weekend as I pigged out alot! so am rather hungry this morning but am drinking lots of water to compensate (about 1.5L so far....) I'm going to have Veg soup for lunch and then another shake before I leave work, so I'm not hungry on the journey on the train home.
How is everyone else doing? I'm feeling rather proud of myself (even though it's only roughly 12.00 now, but I really think I can do this!) :cheesy:0
