Hi All, can I ask you a question please? ..... I'm worried about how I'm going to cope with no food at all for a long period of time. My CDC and I didn't discuss just how long I'm going to be on the SS+ plan (I've got around 2.5 stone to lose) and then we'll re-assess if I need to lose more. I'd really like a rough idea on how long I'll be on it for as I want to mentally prepare myself. Also, did any of you feel ravenous on your first week starting the diet? I want to prepare my other half for my massive mood swings (this always happens when I don't eat, or when he's annoyed me... mwahahahah) Thanks0

In your first week you will lose quite a lot, anything between 5 - 15lbs, it depends on how much you have to lose, but 8-9 lbs isn't unusual.
After that the average is around 1 stone a month. This depends entire on how "good" you are.
I have a tendency to be very naughty and its taken me many weeks to lose 2st. (almost!).
Once you've cleared the first few days you shouldn't feel hungry providing you don't leave too much time in between your packs. You will however crave something to eat, which is a totally different thing to deal with altogether.
You will find it easier if you try and identify your usual triggers to eating, boredom, fed up, tired and work out a strategy in advance.
Some people like to give themselves a manicure, keeps your hands busy and the smell puts you off. Others may go for a walk or have a bubbly bath.
Take your packs regularly, and try the 10 minute rule. ie, stop yourself just grabbing it and make yourself wait 10 minutes to decide if you really want to sabatage yourself.
So much of this diet is about brainwashing yourself.
Start a challenge!
A few of us have started challenges to help keep us going when its getting a bit hard.
Post your successes and failures on here each day. When you know you have to own up it can stay your hand a little.
Good luck - its easy really, just needs a little willpower:D0 -
Are you all laughing at me advising other people how to be good ?
Its back to that do as I say not as I do thing again!:o0 -
Day 2 and still angelic...go me!! Do have a mother of a headache though. Weird really, started last night but went away through the day today, now I'm home its started again. Oh well ketosis is just a hop and a skip away (I hope so anyway).
Maz you are amazing...well done. Hope to be joining you under 12 stone soon...only half a stone to go!0
