The coaster in up near Cleveland I believe. Not all that in to theme parks. This place is about 4 miles from mine - https://www.pki.com. Got a year pass last year ($70). Went twice

Quick question:
If I order $ through say Travelex and use my credit card, would this be classed as a cash advance or purchase?0 -

I've just found this thread from the 'Everything & Anything NY 2010' thread. I've not read it through but I've done a search and can't find anything regarding the Halifax Clarity Card, so apologies if this has already been discussed but thought it may be useful to someone looking at options.
I got the Halifax Clarity Card because:-
a) MSE said it was great for Holiday Spending
b) I'm a Halifax Reward CA customer and if I put £300 on the card in a statement month I get £5 Cashback
I used it for train tickets in advance of the trip and purchases whilst I was there. Was pleased with the rates I got when I saw my statement.
Transaction Date / Conversion used
21/09 1.55
29/09 1.57
06/10 1.59
08/10 1.58
No transaction fees. Can withdraw cash also but you get charged interest from Day 1.
I'm going to use it more next time and not carry so much cash.
I would say that from application to activating the card took 3 weeks.0 -
Any ideas why it seems to be falling away so much today? BBC now saying it's $1.5715 to the £1, having fallen from $1.60 (roughly) yesterday morning...
Seems to happen everytime me and my wife book a holiday, currency goes into freefall as soon as we book!

Dropped 2c today :eek:0 -
Dollar broke its downtrend recently. It'll fall again soon enough but its been in freefall for a month so pulling up now.
UK has some news coming up, government is cutting spending which should help if anything but often the opposite is seen leading upto the event0 -

To edge your bets, get 1/2 the $ you need now, 1/2 closer to the time (although it's pretty ruddy close now!)
Failing that, try and buy at 1.50. That'll make conversions much easier
