Bought at 1.533 from No1 Currency at a High St branch of Cash Generator today. Go on Friday so couldn't take advantage of any postal deals.
Happy with that price though.
i steer clear of postal deals anyway - may get a worse rate but there's no substitute for the safety i think crown currency is a perfect example.0 -
Well, we have cracked $1.60 - 10 days after my last wish post. As ever its a bit wibbly wobbly - wonder if it'll stay like that into the weekend?0

Hope it's a good rate as HSBC process my credit card which took a hammering. And , no, I'm not mad. The account gives free withdrawals.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

08:30 14Oct10 Gbp/Usd: Bulls eyeing catch-up and 1.6275, 1.6350 ahead
07:30 GMT - [GBP/USD] finds itself back above 1.6000 and breaking last week's
1.6019 range peak. A new 1.6050 top registered, a new nine week best.
There is plenty of chatter regarding 1.6050 currently, with retail
accounts said to be providing a top for now and are positioned
intermittently all the way up to 1.6100. Also, we hear hedge funds were
big buyers of 1.6050 one week's earlier today. This market could well
have gotten an independent lift from BOE's Sentance overnight who stays
firmly in the hawk camp (gradual rate increases is right policy). Techs
talk a sustained 1.6000 break could open up 1.6275/80 and 1.6350 ahead,
with 'catch-up' possible. We continue to suspect, however, that much of
recent Gbp strength is by default and double dip (incl housing market)
concerns and potential QE2 ahead will weigh on the crosses.
