Don't any of you feel that you are behaving like children with all this emailing?

Surely the OP should have simply gone to the local paper with this?

By everyone emailing you are simply behaving in an immature manner, especially as I imagine you are not even using your real names.

No, he shouldn't have charged, but your behaviour is dreadful!

    He started it nah nah.....................

Real name?? I signed it Mr Wyn D Hup.

I don't think that many people bothered to email really. There was nothing malicious in mine or BS just a jokey email to say we think his policy of charging for damaged tablemats is a silly. He might decide to spam us now with special offers for his caff!! Bet he's delighted with all this free publicity as I'm sure some people will visit now to test his policy.

In fact if you do visit make sure you take a photograph and inspect your table mats before you sit down to ensure that you will not be held responsible for other peoples damage.;)

Oh...I would have never made false bookings etc...I'm too much of a wimp for that, too afraid it might come back and bite me in the backside! :(
I was just fantasizing as you do when your lecturer is being a bore...

Although I do think he deserved all the emails he got, I mean he must have charged those placemats over and over again...to countless innocent customers!

Ok no more fantasizing, I'll try to remember I am a MATURE student! ;)

I was one of the people who emailed him, but like someone else has said I doubt he got many, maybe a dozen or so.

IMO he didnt get enough, He shouldnt have done what he did (how many times and to how many people has he charged thses £5)

It is a pity he didnt get thousands of emails to crash his system and maybe he couldnt have taken any bookings. He them might get the message

    How true!

Does anyone else think this description from their Daily Specials Menu is just TOO pretentious?

Served on one of their famous placemats perhaps?

Famous? Infamous by now I should think, how many of you had heard about their salad bar before this?

Interesting to note that this thread is the tenth most popular (by views) in this sub-board, and in the top twenty by number of posts.

I've taken a personal interest because I've often had coffee or lunch at this restaurant, and probably would have had lunch there tomorrow. AlisonW is not the only customer they have lost this week.

Workshop, have you tried the cafe in the ginnell where Shaw and Hallas is? Can't remember what it is called. We almost went there on Monday instead. Wish we had.

Not been in there for years. I think it is called Peels?

    Often use Edward's or Choosy's
