  • I don't really get the whole nursery thing - why does it need to be colour-coded? we did ours pale blue before we knew and it wouldn't have made any difference anyway! Same with the clothes. A lot of ours come from the boys' section but can't see why they are boys. All different colours, a lot with safari animals on (are girls too delicate for safari animals? is it against some unwritten code that girls should appear in colours other than pink? :confused:) Bah humbug I say and it's nowhere near xmas! :p

    we had some friends round with their little boy and they made some sniffy comments about having a girl before asking what we were having!

    Right postman has just been and we have got the enrolement details for this years summer sports days at the leisure centre. Now Jasmine did 2 of them last year and absolutely LOVED them, however you have to queue to get your name on to the courses as it is 1st come 1st served and there are limited spaces on the good ones.
    Enrolement day is 13th June - 5 days before my hospital appointment, last year I was there for over 3 hours and only just got her on them !! How much do I want her to do one this year???
    At 39 weeks pregnant 3 hours queuing is a big ask !!!

    Obviously you go and push past everyone to the front shouting "lady with a baby coming through" and if anyone questions you, say that it is your due date that day and you would prefer not to give birth in the leisure centre if you can help it! ;)
    Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

    Floyd Peter arrived 9th July 2011 (1 day early) :D

    :T:T Yes, this!! We're NOT finding out the sex and this is part of the reason why. Our culture has so much emphasis on gender & gender roles that it's constricting to ANY child. Our boys will be able to play with dolls if they want & our girls will have trucks & building blocks! Maybe it's my country girl tomboy roots showing through, but I refuse to have any gender-specific clothing or materials for baby...and by not finding out, it keeps the ILs from buying any! :p

    (sorry, rant over...this is a hot button issue for me)

    would like to win a holiday, please!!

    :rotfl::rotfl:
    I wish that would work, but some of the mums there last year sat at the front door from midnight the night before just to get their precious darlings on the most popular courses !!

    Might be worth a try though :rotfl:
