SEROUSLY Overcharged on Postage by Seller....

  • I personally never worry about the extra cost for postage as I look at the total when buying from ebay and I am willing to pay for it. If it is £10 in total including £6 for item and £4 for p&p or £2 for item and £8 p&p. As long as I am happy with the item then it is not a problem. If I was not happy with the item, I would use the high p&p as an issue.

I think the point of the thread as somewhat passed you buy.

Totally uncalled for. Why did you manipulate Cyril's post like that? And what is it with you and 'Mr Mitty'?

This sort of thing is what spoils it for others and I see it as pathetic, 'Smart but casual'.

That kind of "cleaver" editing doesn't really work when the original FULL sentence is only 2 inches above it for all to see....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Oh you're an idiot........

Thank you, his little vendetta against me is becoming rather tiresome and any difference in my opinion to his results in this bizarre "mr mitty jibe" Which i assume is referring to the character Walter mitty, what i don't understand is how it applies to me simply for daring to have an opinion.??:confused:

If I pay for a service I expect to receive it, if I don't and there is no reparation I take action, in this case a negative and explain why (to warn others) I would also hit on the stars and inform Ebay at the same time.

Sorry the fact some people are prepared to let crooks get away with theft, no matter how minor is irrelevant, the sellers have taken money and not suppied what I paid for, thats enough when they are not prepared to make it right in financial terms imho

Sorry, you've totally missed the point. The seller SPECIFICALLY stated in her blurb.....which I cut and paste if you have a look, that all items are sent SPECIAL MAIL FIRST CLASS...and she put that in her ad TWICE!!

What she's done is not " extra cost for postage " which I explained wouldn't have bothered me..... but she has deliberately lied...and when I pointed this out to her, she's lied again, and in essence told me to whistle for my money.

If she'd said it was 2nd Class Recorded Delivery at £5.50 I'd have made the decision whether or not to pay over the odds for said postage and delivery, which is what you allude to..... but she didn't !! She charged the going rate for one delivery...and deliberately misled me...and no doubt her other buyers.

As it happens, I did e-mail her again this evening suggesting I'd listen to a sensible compromise...she responded within a few minutes instructing me to " Go and F$$K yourself, and take it up with eBay if you think they'll even bother, you stupid C**T "

Sort of suggests she's had these limited conversations before.....

So...mrsjanejane....you may well be happy for such people to have you over, and good luck to you, I'm not.

I'll take it up with eBay and Paypal regarding her blatant lies and mis-selling....and neg her to warn others of her game.

Thanks to those who offered advice,
if i had known then what i know now

    ,

Well as i said i'd have let it go just on the basis of making a few cheeky quid on the postage, as long as i was getting a good deal overall.

However, that email is outrageous and i'd defo neg them for that, Sounds like a nasty pice of work.

it happens all the time, Ever tried buying a sofa? they rarely deliver on time, of course they can't be asked for money back as delivery was "free" of course it is not free it is included in the price. As i said, some are just more cleaver about their delivery charges than others.
    .

Thank you but my lovely new DFS sofa was promised for Thursday and arrived Thursday delivered in a DFS van with two experienced people to build it, test it and fit it into the correct space.

If it had turned up in the back of a transit van and left on my doorstep then I would have complained and insisted my delivery charge returned as it was not what I paid for. I might even have gone as far as to reject the sofas as I paid for installation as that was include din the delivery charge.

That's what is at issue here, not how much was charged but the service used.

Mike, consider the neg carefully..a well worded one can do a selller a lot more damage that one left in temper. make sure you cast doubt on the seller, ideally you want other buyers to read it and be completely warned off.

I've seen some sellers with a few negs and have still bought as the negs left for them seem petty, but on the other hand there are a couple of sellers that have almost perfect feedback yet I have avoided because the neg has really concerned me.
