I think you did well. The cheapest displayed price on the phone was £10 more than you ended up paying. What would have been interesting is if you HAD spent £40 on other shopping - that could have well resulted in an R+R.Can I help?0

I wanted to keep arguing and say it's not my fault that the £20 discount came up but didn't wanna risk causing a scene
I didn't go and check but the wording seems a bit iffy on the offer. I mean, what constitutes as 'shopping' (if it didn't specificly say groceries on the sign)? Everything and anything I buy in store = shopping!

The coca cola 24 box is now going through at correct 6.75p as it is marked on the box...not sure what the 6.95p labelled boxes are going through at..the SEL is still showing 6.95p I have over 20 boxes in my warehouse for the kids party in May...yippee!! :T much of the fresh meat is wrong in many larger stores at moment. The bulk buying policy is only 6, and in some stores only 3 !!!
I have been reading these pages for a few months, not actually posted coz I was not a member, until now !!
I have posted many times on the "CPJack***" website but did not reveal any name as finder......i will continue to "share" my experience of finds around the 8 stores that I monitor.
And as a Tesco shareholder ( 1 share is all you need) I want Tesco to get there act together !!!
If ever they ban anyone........I will be encouraging you to write to HO and demand an apology. We are each doing the job of the File Maintenance Manager in each larger store. He should be given his marching orders, and not you !
Please note the new tactics of Tesco. Even if there is no bulk policy sign at the Customer Service Desk, be aware that they can still apply it to your purchases if they want. It would probably be considered as "reasonable" by any Trading Standards Officer, when Tesco give you an R&R on one of your bulk purchases item and only "the difference" on the others. I know some of you will say " But the sign is a PROMISE" to R&R by the board of executives of Tesco..... .who represent the shareholders !!!! True !!!
But they want to WEED out the ones who are deliberately buying bulk to get away with it.........if you say " I dont want the other ones"...then they win.... so just keep them all........and you still have up to the 28 days to come back and get a refund (only).
BUT...I believe we can do our part and to accept gratefully rather than to argue !! R&R on one item is very fair, unless of course you have genuinely wanted 3 or more and they overcharge you. But as is the case with me.........all my shopping purchases is R&R (wink*).....and they kinda know me very well at many stores !!!.......but it serves to keep them on the ball, and we are doing them a service for which they pay us a little for our trouble.........it certainly is sad when the Customer Service Staff are not trained properly and mistreat WE valued customers !!
I will continue to check tesco and point out all there errors..and get them to ammend, correct and apologise..........kinda rare to get them to actually apologise !!!
Have fun.....and consider yourself on the payroll of Tesco....you are a very valuable shopper !!! dont be put off by a few untrained stafff......and above all remember........keep calm !!!
they banned me last night before as i got to the check out phoned tesco cs this morning still waiting to hear back from them though0 -

Actually other supermarkets do make misprices, but all they offer back is the difference, though I believe Asda also give you a £2 giftcard and the difference

traceya89 wrote:i have just been refused a £20 refund on meat and need to speak to customer services. i cant find a number for this. i am foaming. the sel was 4.16, i picked up 2 packs with 5.18 on, some of hte packs with 5.18 on had been marked down to coincide with the 4.16 special offer but the ones i picked had not. CS told me she used to work in TS and the 5.18 packs should not have been left out. i would have stood my ground and asked for the manager but time was a factor as i had to pick up my little girl from school. i am very annoyed. i said that everything was very misleading and she offered me the goods at the price worked out at the lower sel offer. Any advice would be appreciated but i would be grateful for the HO number.
I have just phoned Head Office and have been told that the store acted correctly in offering me the difference and that someone had obviously mixed the old meat up with the new special offer meat. Once i mentioned Trading Standards he said he was not prepared to discuss things further with me and that if i wrote to the press i would have to have evidence to substantiate my findings, which i said I did as i had them on the mobile phone camera. I put the phone down on him. He had said that customer services were correct in refunding the difference of the error! I said i was sick of being misled by Tesco.
Any further suggestions. I have had 5 R&R over the past 10 weeks at 3 different stores, total value £10, £10, £7, £40, £2l. The particular store in question has only given me £10 back for a mispriced CD. I am also going to write to Sir Terry as i have in the past about other concerns.Just about to give up!0 -

Of course they do. Just other supermarkets dont have to contend with absolute lunatics going round thinking that they should get their entire shopping for free, and if not that the world is plotting against them.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

CGG wrote:I have just spotted the Nokia 6230i at 3 separate locations in my local Tesco.
In two locations they are correctly priced at £149.97. But the third display has a yellow SEL stating £139.97 until 19/3/06.
What's the procedure with these offers when they have expired?Do I go back for the phone before someone gets it?
How do I stand my ground when I'm well aware that the SEL is out of date.
Have just had a run in with an Electricals manager.
I've just put in a nice formal complaint with tesco H/O advising them of the problem and Tesco H/O man was very nice on the phone and investigating.
Edit: Result H/O have advised I can have the phone.
In all fairness the manager was very nice when I went back to the store, which is a credit to him as I guess it was quite an awkward situation.
CGG - know which bit of the law is being broken by the price being wrong, also accompany the CS person to the price on the shelf. This is a bit mistake and managers are desperately trying to cover up the fact that their staff have not done their job and removed all the SELs.It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Just had my 3rd RNR on meat (you can never have enough meat!) at a small Tesco Metro. The staff there were totally baffled by what to do as regards a misprice. The woman who was 'nominated' as supervisor/CS didnt have a clue, she called on another assistant and we all marched over to the meat counter. In question it was braising steak SEL £2.62lb, pack £2.80lb. They both wanted to tally my meat up at £2.62lb and give me the difference! I said whooaah hang on there you have RNR policy and should meet it. Now 3rd assistant on the scene tells me that the RNR policy 4 years ago and Tesco only refund the difference? I asked her to accompany me to the tills to show her the little sign there, she refused and said she knew what she was talking about? The 'supervisor/CS' took charge again, went and read the sign for herself, telephoned the store Manager and RNR no problem. But it seems that no one, apart from myself, knew the RNR policy and thats their workplace. Whats with the '4 years ago' statement?, I think staff retraining needs to be brought up to date in this store to save insulting genuine customers with made up rules.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

R & R is not a legal requirement - if it was, why does no one else offer it?
Edit:- Quote edited to reflect edited originla post. Glad you got it sorted, shame it took all the hassle.Who or what was I before you came in to my life
