the B@stards, really, it should be illegal to not walk out of a shop with free stuff
being frank though, if you're too bloody stupid to NOT take three members of your family (or friends) with you and do THREE seperate R+Rs then you deserve everything you get (or don't)
may I add, if you're still too stupid to accompany the staff member to the innacurate SEL, then you're extra STOOOOPID
FINALLY, yes, this is harsh, but it's idiots like yourself that grab everything, contribute nothing, yet still !!!!! and expect support from the community
another one for my ignore list :-)
If you're too STUPID (note the correct spelling this time) to read the thread and see that he didn't actually realise that he was going to be overcharged then you deserve the flaming that I can only assume is on it's way to you. Not all of us try to exploit the system to such great extent that we need to resort to subterfuge. We have seen from this thread that time and time again Tesco will try to avoid employing their own R+R policy using any means neccesary. So it doesn't really matter if the value of R+R was nearly £500 or nearly £5 they try to escape it anyway. All that can be gained from this experience is the need to accompany staff to the POS.
Oh and if the security guard tries to stop you; calmly ask the security guard to move and then walk around him. Security guards have no legal rights to physical restrain you unless you HAVE commited a crime, so touching you would constitute assault.0 -
Seriously Mr.X, did you go out to buy 3 MP3 players? From Tesco? Or did you just notice the expired SEL and chance it?
Aside from the fact that they are clearly well out of order, you have to find a balance, they probably sell one a month of these things, one customer buying 3 is VERY unusual buying, so it looks like you're deliberately trying it on.
No more than one of each expensive item or two of each cheap item if you want to have a good chance of avoiding an argument and potentially getting banned from the store.0 -
Mr X: You are honestly telling me that you never knew you were getting over-charged on the three of them? Well, you obviously wnated them, so the fact you didnt get R & R isnt of too much concern to you.
I understand individulas saying it doesnt matter if its a high value item or not, its there policy, but do you not think theyd not to have shrinkage of high such high value.
TOnce again, thanks again for posting this mis-price so others could gain from it... oh you didnt bother did you....0 -
My goodness, some people do take this seriously dont they?.
Next you'll be saying Tesco's take it personally, and they are a timid bunch who need all the sympathy and protection they can get from these mean, hard, customers!. Somebody will suggest we send them a sympathy card next.
Wake up. They are a huge money making machine who's no 1 priority is making even more money at the cost of screwning suppliers and your local businesses. They care about nothing more.0 -

I saw a sign in Tesco saying that the leaflet was a misprint and the £549 price was correct.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

Surely if Tesco only sold ONE per month they would not stock the item.
Remember, Tesco are THE biggest supermarket, they did not get there by having a stock of low selling items.... and this is the world that we are leaving for all our children.:eek:0 -
In retailing, shrinkage (sometimes truncated to shrink) is the loss rate of products between point of manufacture and point of sale. Sometimes shrinkage may be as high as 15% to 20% of total volume, having a major negative impact on profits. The average shrink percentage in the retail industry is about 2% of sales. Shrinkage is often considered a cost of doing business in retail.
Shrinkage is for a large part due to theft or some other crime, and the prevention of this type of shrinkage is one reason for security guards and cameras. Also, some shrinkage is due to damage in transit, shipping errors, or misplaced goods.
The four major sources of inventory shrinkage in the retail industry are:
1. Employee theft
2. Shoplifting
3. Administrative errors
4. Vendor fraud
Means that by you trying to do an R&R on such expensive items - the value of those items makes upa higher percentage of their lose that day or week, than say two bars of chocolate - which is why they he more akin to try more backhand tactics - as you have experienced0 -
I was disgusted to hear that security stopped a customer from accompanying the staff to check there were no labels being tinkered with. I think I'll be doing my R&R's with a friend from now on :-O
Disgusted by Tesco0
