sandybrag wrote:Having been banned from my local store, for the serious offence of overusing the R+R policy, I am becoming annoyed at having to spend more money on petrol to have to travel further to my local sainsburys to do the weekly shop instead.
I am taking the matter further, however in the meantime, I plan to go back into this store again regardless in defiance of this stupid ban.
I have been told to leave once before, so what is the worse that could happen to me if I was caught again?.
Hi my OH was a security guard for tesco and he said although it is classed as attempted deception there would not ever call the police as the CPU wouldn't do anything, so really all they would do is ask you to leave and escort you off there premises, including car park and petrol stations. OH recommends you contact head office and state you have been banned for using there own R&R policy, you should emphasis tesco's offer this service but when you used it you were banned from all stores, car parks and filling stations for using it, also make it clear that you are a very high spender at Tesco's (even blag you have credit card etc with them) and unless they remove the ban and send a written apology you will have no option but to cancel all insurances etc with them and take your custom elsewhere. (they hate asda so maybe put that's where you money will be spent from now on) maybe state about letting the papers know as they pay to keep stuff like this out of the papers. Hope this helps0 -

the SEL will say a price, say, 6.99 per KG for 'juicy fresh chuts'
the pack of 'juicy fresh chuts' will say 8.99 / Kg
and the price (say) for 1/2 kg pack will be about £4.50 ish
thats wrong, if it was 6.99 a pack, the 'chuts' will be around £3.50 a pack of 1/2Kg
you've been overcharged!money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Thanks for your reply lorraine. I spend alot of money with Tesco's so I will try some of your ideas.
I have already written a letter to head office, however they simply reinstated what I already knew and confirmed that the store had banned me and that they could not over turn that decision because the local stores decision is final. Although I mentioned all the details, and even hinted that I would involve Trading Standards and the newspapers if the outcome was not satisafactory, it seems this had no effect whatsoever.
Naturally, I am very disappointed with the response, in fact it has given me even more determination to pursue this further. It's not just me that feels it is wrong either. I have told friends and family about my ordeal, and to say they equally shocked and appauled is an understatement. In fact most of my family are now avoiding the store too, so financially the bill is already totting up for this appauling decision.
Plan B swings into action shortly. Ill let you know what I do next..0 -
Good luck sandybrag!
I think even those of us who debate the moral issues behind R+R seeking are 100% behind you on this one.
My own view is that R+R is a particularly stupid policy to have. But once it's there Tesco must honour it with good grace. If they were up to scratch with pricing the issue wouldn't arise anyway. Can I help?0 -

Although i fully agree with you, i'd just like to point out that the sum that your family and friends spend a year probably doesnt being to dent the £1million a day the store is probably taking.
Why not just use avoid the store for 3 months. Then sneak back in keeping a low profile. I'd imagine the petrol garage would be ok to use. You get out, they turn on the pump, you fill up, you walk to the till, they escort you off the promises.....bonusA bargain is only a bargain if you would have brought it anyway!0 -
