Yep personally I wouldn't worry too much about barcodes, they're on the products so they canned be scanned not for customers. SELs should be clear in their description and in front of the correct product.

I don't think you can spot a mis-price by looking at the barcode.

But I think there is a way of making sure, for meat, that the barcode on the product matches the barcode on the SEL - last 4 or 6 digits if memory serves.

Personally I've never had a problem matching a product with a SEL based on the description.

First 6 of the item barcode will/should match the first 6 of the SEL barcode. Rest of the numbers are pack price (ie 0003160 will scan at £3.16)

The barcode is on the SEL so items are put on the shelf in the right place. However, it is also useful if you want to check the item relates to that ticket if the description is not clear.

  • Does anyone know what happens after someone phones head office and makes a complaint against an employee - customer service or managers etc. ? is the person actually told about the complaint and given a warning ?

That would depend on the nature of the complaint/issue. Complaints made to customer services/head office and not resolved by them are generally passed on to the store manager.

  • If someone rings head office and makes a complaint with them about a certain store or manager, is this then passed on ?

Having been banned from my local store, for the serious offence of overusing the R+R policy, I am becoming annoyed at having to spend more money on petrol to have to travel further to my local sainsburys to do the weekly shop instead.
I am taking the matter further, however in the meantime, I plan to go back into this store again regardless in defiance of this stupid ban.

I have been told to leave once before, so what is the worse that could happen to me if I was caught again?.

Yes. To the Store Manager. Depending on the nature of the complaint.

Ultimatly? I suppose it would be tresspass, but I am no legal expert as to what the penalty in law is for that.
