I was looking for some birthday banners on ebay yesterday and saw some that could be personalised. They showed you examples and I thought they looked fab but wondered if I could have a go at doing them myself so spent the rest of the morning playing around in paint shop pro and managed to make 4 lovely banners which I will print out and stick the pages together to make long ones. Also did some of those pages with an old photo of OH on and happy birthday etc on them to print and hang. Now will just have to buy balloons and think I will just get normal ones although would like the ones with 30 on, depends how much they are up the town.

I just use Sharpies on my Balloons Rufus, The kids love drawing silly faces on them, I'm sure you could personalise the balloons with OH name and 30 on them. The Sharpies are dead cheap now, especially in HomeBargins.

How about a bottle of blowing bubbles? You can get them shaped like a mini bottle of alcohol so that could go with the real one.

Teenagers - iTunes vouchers would probably go over well, possibly with a bag of chocolate coins.

The 1yo probably needs something bright and interesting - would you maybe make a sock monkey? If you patched him with offcuts in interesting textures he'd be educational as well, just make sure he doesn't have any buttons and his extremities are sewed on tight. They fold down well and are light.

The 8yo .... I'm sure he'd be thrilled with a name a star certificate (freenameastar.com) and maybe some of that astronaut ice cream. Weighs nothing.

MIL - a magazine subscription? Or a spa voucher for somewhere local to her?

Aww love the idea of a sock monkey, I made hubby one last year and it wasnt a pretty sight lol but I think it was fabulous for me making it lol I might give it a try again
Like the idea of Itune vouchers thanks:T

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I think I will be doing that too, mine love making things so would be ideal... did you number each activity or did you do like a lucky dip?

    hi Sarah

I planned an activity/treat or craft etc one for each day then got the 'elf' to sit with them in the hall so they found them everyday. I planned it around what other events were on a t home and school etc depending on how long it might take to do etc etc. Hope that helps!

Thanks Furry, thats sounds great, better than setting 24 up and them picking at random and it not tying into the day.

    Thanks

I think I might do one for my OH, have started picking up little bits and pieces in the charity shop- have a mini finding nemo jigsaw puzzle and a dr who connect 4 so far... things to keep him busy for five mins lol.
Liking the ideas of activities as well, what kind of ideas did you girls all use for this?
Am going to do it in a box, covered with christmas wraping, and filled with popcorn- does anyone know if you can use food colouring on popcorn so I can make it green and red?

I'm sure you can use food colouring on popcorn, seem to remember using green last halloween for DS2 bday party, will try and find the site where I found how to do it.

I might do one for the big kids in the house to, then they all have something LOL... Will only be me not having one LOL
