Aurora - I was just trying to be polite and explain the reasons for the new thread, like you I have better things to do with my time than explain myself "in the virtual world". We shut many of the old thread as they were getting too long. When I have previously spoke with board guides about them, they are usually around 3000 posts before they are shut for managability.
The first post is a good place for newbies to find things, hence it is handy if it can be amedned. With Mel no longer being here, it is impossible to do this. No 1st post changed+long thread = impossible for new and old people to find a way around.
It is up to the board guide of this board if the thread is shut or not, but you can ask for them to be closed in certain circumstance e.g. confusion, cluttering up of the board with many similar threads, length of threads.
All of these threads are designed to help people. I don't wish to engage in any further conversation regarding these threads because it is highly off topic and frankly..boring!

Jammy - Thank you. xxx :A
You didn't get my point...
And...
Good luck with your new threads, hope they don't get cluttered too much, or too long, or people getting confused (which is exactly what happened when you split the original into 2.)
Good luck.
Lots of love. xxx0 -
Actually we try and leave them till they get to about 5000 now - otherwise we just spend all our time closing threads - that is how busy the boards are!
