any1 got any ideas of postable presents for 1 yo girl, 8 yo boy, and a teenage boy and girl unsure of ages (thats shocking isnt it) and the mil

Teenagers - iTunes vouchers would probably go over well, possibly with a bag of chocolate coins.

The 1yo probably needs something bright and interesting - would you maybe make a sock monkey? If you patched him with offcuts in interesting textures he'd be educational as well, just make sure he doesn't have any buttons and his extremities are sewed on tight. They fold down well and are light.

The 8yo .... I'm sure he'd be thrilled with a name a star certificate (freenameastar.com) and maybe some of that astronaut ice cream. Weighs nothing.

MIL - a magazine subscription? Or a spa voucher for somewhere local to her?

hi all, i know this has now changed to christmas organising but i just wanted to ask for some sugestions... its my dads 50th bday and my step dads 40th birthday coming up soon, i have no idea what to do for them so wondered if any of you had some good ideas that i might be able to steal :p.....

My dads bday isnt till new yrs day but i always kind of forget to put lots of thought into his bday present as its so near christmas (and my dds is on the 5th jan...)

anyway would love to hear any ideas...
I was hoping this would stay as for all occaions too as I am trying to organise the house for my OH's 30th birthday party next month. We are hoping to have it out in the garden weather permitting and have been sorting it out, lots of jobs still to be done but i did go and sort out the shed yesterday and have a big pile of rubbish for OH to take to the dump during the week. We still need to mend the corrugated roof on the shelter and fix some of those reed screens under the roof for a bit of shade. Need to make a gate too to block off part of the garden for the dog so hes not interfering with the guests. I will be happy once these big bits are out of the way then its just a case of organising the food and drinks etc.

As to presents, I have done the 30 presents for 30 years so you could do this for the 40 yr old, and even for the 50 yr old but would take a lot more presents lol. Does he like photos and memorabelia? How about getting a scrapbook with 30 pages (60 sides) and doing a page for each year? You could leave the blank pages to be filled in) You could get photos off the internet and bits and pieces about what was happening that year (Wikepedia or whatever its called is great for this). Also if you can date any of your old photos (or borrow some off other family members) you could include these on the pages too. I have done this for OH.

Hi all, mind if I join in? I'm so glad I'm not the only one who loves making lists, I was slightly embarassed about the fact I've made lots of Christmas lists already but now I don't need to feel so bad! :rotfl:

So far I'm planning to make an advent calendar for my boyfriend with little stockings on a string. My sewing leaves a lot to be desired but I'm sure I can handle a simple shape like that, and just put lots of pretty sparkles and things on. Already made a list of 24 little gifts to put in as well, if anyone wants to hear it just ask. Trying not to go over £24 for all the gifts, so going to start picking these up now if I can to spread the cost.

Also planning a few hampers (first time I've ever done them ). One for my boyfriend's parents with some homemade food bits and a few shopbought ones, a chilli hamper as a small gift for my boyfriend (bought a jar of pickled jalapenos today to hide away for it :D) and a small lavendar gift basket for my grandma. Also going to try and start getting a few little bits and pieces now for the baskets to save the  factor of having to buy it all in bulk in the last few months leading up the Christmas.

Quite proud of my organisational skills this year as I usually leave it all to the last minute, also very excited to start my little crafty projects :j
