For those of you that enter competitions on a regular basis, how do you keep track? Do you have a spreadsheet? A notebook?

Also, do you use a specific email/phone number?

I am getting a bit frustrated as I am entering EVERYTHING and haven't won!

I always hit the Thanks button when I enter, but that's not infallible 'cos sometimes the entry doesn't go through for some reason or another. Also, I might Thank anyhow, without entering.
Having a spreadsheet seems too much hard work to me, but others may have some tips.
As far as email / phone no goes. I give my landline, but tick no phone contact. Can't say I've had a huge increase in sale calls since I've been comping, and they get the brush-off anyhow!
Many reckon it's best to have a specific comping email (or maybe more than 1 so you can get more entries!) too, but you'll need to check it regularly as some comps re-draw the prize if it's not claimed within a certain time-frame, sometimes as short as 48 hrs. Again. I always tick no contact, but there isn't always that option, so I have had an increase in emails. Most you can unsubscribe tho',
To be honest, you'd probably be better off asking for this to be moved to the chat thread at the top. There's an excellent comping guide among the stickies you may like to read too.

Am i just being moody & hormonal or is there suddenly even more bumping of posts going on, more dupes & more comps being posted from the list of sites to avoid??

Its probably just me that gets annoyed by these little things but I am pregnant so have an excuse to moan :rotfl:

I don't understand why people seem to think it's okay to bump a thread by saying thanks when it's one of TV competitions, but I've seen the same people complaining about bumping on other threads.

It's the main board - you need to start a new thread, but the comp you tried to post randomly here has already been listed here.

If you take a read at the Comping guide it is very helpful when starting off.

Does anybody Know of any competitions that have Energy Saving prizes ?. Solar Panels, PV Panels, Wind Turbines etc.

This should really be in discussions - not on the main board

There are eco friendly competitions on Biggreenswitch (these will have been listed individually on here already & you need to register to enter) - probably not in the league you appear to be looking for though - not too many wind turbines up for grabs.....;)

you could also do a key word search and see what comes up on the board
ie - search - solar and you get this (and a lot of other solar things too, but at least you can pick & choose)

Hi everyone
I'm hoping you can give me advice on a competition I entered.
Until the end of April Lovefilm were holding a quiz competition with a prize of a PS3 for the top player on the scoreboard at the end of the month. I played the quiz like crazy and became the top player for about 3 weeks before the end of the comp and for two weeks after.
It said the winner would be notified after 7 days, its now been over 2 weeks and i haven't heard anything .
I've emailed and phoned them but so far have been ignored . I know its only meant to be fun but its frustrating when I spent so long playing the quiz. Do you think I should take it further with them ?

Do you know you were top of the leader board at the end? quite often people play at the last minute
