Revealed: Tesco Clubcard revamp - what it means for you

Means nothing to me....I spend my vouchers on food. I see no offers that are of interest to me and have no desire to buy any clothes from Tescos- I don't rate the styles and the quality is really poor. I have no need for toys (even electronic ones), wine and the cinema bores me (-I prefer to watch movies whilst doing something else)
I guess I'll be sticking to food.
OOps sorry this should have been the quote for above post.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
Has anyone used their clubcard vouchers for cosmos holidays?
Just wondering if you have to pay full price for the holiday in order to use the vouchers?:0 -

I cant get enough points for everything I want to use them for !
Do you not read magazines?
Do you not go on holidays?
Do you not fancy the odd stay in a hotel?
Do you not drive and could make use of the RAC cover?
Do you not drink?
Do you not like theme parks or family days out?
Do you not like eating out?
Do you not like jewelerry?
I could go on and on. I have made use of most of the above over the past few years and it has given our family lots of treats we normally couldnt afford. While Mr T keeps giving the points..I shall keep making use of them.0 -
The double-up idea is sound in principle but the system seems over-complicated. Rather than the Tesco Direct web system simply accepting Clubcard voucher codes and doubling them up on the spot, it is necessary to send off the codes (via the web) and, in due course, the doubled-up vouchers arrive by post.
I planned to buy a garden machine which was shown last week to cost £68.95, so I sent off for £60 worth of vouchers (2 X £30) on Sunday 16 May. The vouchers have not arrived by Friday 22 May, by which time I discovered that the machine has been reduced to £45.95. Therefore I have ordered £15 more vouchers than I need. Although the Tesco web site says that the vouchers have not yet been despatched (and therefore could be cancelled) I have discovered that 'the web site is rather slow' and in fact they are 'now in the system'.
As a result of a long phone conversation with Tesco it would seem that there is a plan to allow direct ordering by quoting Clubcard numbers but 'they have not yet introduced it'. In the meantime people like me are going to have to find some other gardening item (not wine etc, as the vouchers are department-restricted) to use up the excess vouchers.
Tesco should realise that customers do not appreciate this kind of hassle. In short, an attractive idea in principle but bureaucratic in practice.0 -
Well I had a trip out today to the big tesco extra..
if I have done my sums right, and I am sure I have I came away with £53.00 worth of clothes and got £4.83 off shopping for doing that!
Really lovely peop;e on the doubleponts desk, who gave me a £4.50 voucher back that should have gone in their til!!
Every little helps!! ..lol

Whats up with you? You've just saved £15 and you're complaining? Get your 'garden implement' and treat yourself to something with the bonus 15 squid !!!
Some people are never happy .... unbelievable !!!

I really like the double up scheme. We're expecting our first baby in 4 months time so good to buy bits and bobs in advance and get them at a good price. Personally some of the baby stuff in Tescos is much nicer than Mothercare.
However bit concerned....had £9.50voucher (typical), woman exchanged £5 and gave me £10 for baby and toddler and told me that she had put the other £4.50 back on my card. That was a week ago and unfortuantely my receipts are not showing that going through.....does anyone know how long it would take? I would have thought instantly so not so impressed if the staff dont know how to put points back on your account?!?!0 -

1. I do read magazines but prefer the £3 for 3 issues deals -then stop. I get a better deal that way. And my mum is a bigger mag fan then me- I just read all her old mags and am more then happy with this solution.
2.No, I don't go on holidays- I like to holiday with people- I like to share things with other people, and no one is free at the same time as me- my sister is a nurse, my mum takes her 4 weeks holiday with her husband to festivals (aged for her- shes not doing glasto and etc!!) I also do not own a passport- would be good if Tescos did an ption for me to buy a passport! Plus I also have a long issue with an eating disorder- trust me, a holiday for you would be the most stressful thing in the world for me!
3. As above (for the final point especially) not stayed away from home (unless you count staying at friends/relatives) for over 15 years. Am fine with that.
4.I don't drive, no one in my family has a car.
5. I don't drink- well, slight lie- my mum drinks fine fine fine wine- she gets it by the case load and then takes 10 years to get through it- trust me, she doesn't need any wine and as long as she has wine, I have the odd glass when I see her. A bottle would be lost on me (eating disorder issues and haveing been given them as gifts in the past, I can see them sitting in my kitchen for years to come and getting old and corked.)
6. No (small) family to take out with me on days out, and my current family all are very much into their own jobs or cannot afford the time off work. Plus, I can see the vouchers paying for part of the time on a day out, but not the travel there, or the food there...may seem fickle, but in actual fact, I could not afford all those extras, a day out token wouldn't be of any use to me.
7. No eating out- as above (eating disorder issues)
8. I do like jewellery- infact I love jewellery- but looked through the Goldsmiths website- and stores, and the stuff they have is just so far from my style- I tend to like the hand crafted stuff, like proper contemporary things and new designers. Think the 'Craft Council' and you wont fall far short.
I am ok with spending all my points on food- its something I have to cut down on cost wise, so a voucher means I can then treat myself to things I wouldn't normally have, like freshly cut melon or cherrys or similar. So I am still grateful for the vouchers I do have, but it would be nice if I could have a few more options- like if they did the double clubcard points on electrical stuff- now theres an offer I couldn't refuse!!0 -
Jennie - What about te skincare, cosmetics and fragrance double up? maybe get your Dad some Aftershave for father's day?
But skincare? I have £110 of Boots points! I just spent £20 of them on a moisturiser- I love that I can do that, :beer:sadly, Tesco do not stock any of the brands I really love. (Kiehls, Origins, Aveda and anything else which claims to be very natural and does not irritate my skin- did try tescos own natural stuff...came out in spots the next few days followingI would love a new perfume- but after gathering no less then 8 of them in the past year (ebay....) I have banned myself from buying any more- same goes for cosmetics- at Christmas, I counted 12 I had not even used!! I barred myself from any new cosmetics this year as a new years resolution. Boots helped me break that! (the £2 voucher was too good to refuse) But now I definetly have way too much make up!!-and it was my birthday last month- got Mac stuff...
But thanks for the idea!:o0
