We don't shop at Tesco anymore, as we think the quality, range and general service has fallen a lot in recent years.
We do have a Tesco Credit Card though and save the points to pay for RAC cover and our usual magazine subscriptions.
One query though, has it always been 1 point for every £4 spent on their credit card? I was sure it was 1 point for every £2, even that isn't great.

I may have to look for a better rewards credit card, and a way of getting RAC cover cheaper.

Anyone have any experience of Sainsbury credit cards? They appear to give 1 point for every £2.

Or do Asda do a rewards scheme and credit card? We shop there online now.

I think the sainsbury's nectar points are only worth 1/2 as much. So you need say 500 points for a £2.50 voucher.

Asda don't do any loyalty card. There is a an asda credit card that gives you points back (I think) on fuel purchased at asda petrol stations. My local asda have tried to sign me up for this, but we don't have an asda petrol station nearby so not a lot of point really for me!
Indecision is the key to flexibility :)

Converted some of my vouchers in store this morning. All very easy to do.

Sami-bee it states on the vouchers that they're worth their value after all discounts have been applied so it looks like you can go mad with the offers! Only thing is you don't get change so need to spend a min of £10 in a transaction and any left over credit will be converted back into clubcard points and added to your account. Personally I don't have any problem spending £10 on wine or clothes in a single transaction!

Just to clarify, you only get change when converting the vouchers, which is then returned to your clubcard, you have to spend the full amount of the new voucher, same as you do with the original vouchers when spending them instore. Hope i haven't made this even more complicated!

I have my vouchers sent to me at the end of the year,
so does this mean that we will lose out on this double up offer?

Yep, I've used a Tesco's credit card for a couple of years now and as far as I can remember its always been 1 point per £4 spend (as I use clubcard deals, I've always treated this as 1% cashback - which is on par with most cashback cards).

Nectar points are only worth 1/2p, so this is exactly the same return as the Tesco's credit card, but without the deals option.

And if you don't mind going across to the AA, there's a thread in Grabbit forum for free AA cover via a cashback site (well £29 cashback anyway).

    Hope this helps

Means nothing to me....I spend my vouchers on food. I see no offers that are of interest to me and have no desire to buy any clothes from Tescos- I don't rate the styles and the quality is really poor. I have no need for toys (even electronic ones), wine and the cinema bores me (-I prefer to watch movies whilst doing something else)

I guess I'll be sticking to food.

Cheer up. It might never happen.

Seriously though, have you actually looked at the quality of the clothes in Tesco? They are really well made, last for ages compared to clothes bought on the high st and are sold at really good prices. I for one will be taking advantae of this deal.

If you've got one of the older credit cards which were purple with a flower and now have mainly changed to a finest card it is 1 point for every £2 spent :j

Sorry if this has been answered before but I need some clarification with regards to converting the vouchers Tesco sends into the clubcard deals: Can one use vouchers from somebody else, i.e can I use Gordon Brown's vouchers and convert them for deals?

When I converted my vouchers the other day the cashier scanned my clubcard so not sure if you can convert vouchers without presenting the clubcard connected to the account... maybe someone else has had a different experience.

You can only use your vouchers for your account. When deals are ordered most have a surname or postcode printed on them so depending on what deal you want, you could get the voucher holder to convert them for you but you can't add them to yours, sorry
